Sweden is one of the most successful ESC countries. Within their 52 participations in the contest they’ve managed to win 5 times, reach the top 5 a total of 19 times and place in the top 10 a total of 35 times.

Since 1959 the Swedish Eurovision entry has been selected through the annual televised competition Melodifestivalen, which is one of Sweden’s most popular television shows. Only once has their representative not been selected through Melodifestivalen, internally selected in 1958.

In recent years Swedish songwriters have been involved in the writing of entries from several countries.

Since 2004, Sweden has made it through to the Grand Final 8 out of 9 times.

Sweden often swaps high points with Denmark and Norway.

Romania tried to enter the contest for the first time in 1993 and had chosen Dida Drăgan, but after she failed to qualify from the qualifying round Romania had to wait a year, before they could debut in the contest.

The place where Romania finishes on average is 13th (in the Finals).

Since the Semi Finals were introduced Romania has made it through to the Grand Final 9 times out of possible 9. So they're one of the five countries left that has never missed a final.

Romania is voting buddies with Moldova.
