Le Bernardin was one of our past favorites. We were so excited to check out the new menu and renovation. Started off with aperitifs at the bar. Rather cool watching the bartender craft our cocktails.
We chose the eight-course tasting with wine pairing to get the full dining experience. Food on a whole was good, but not exceptional as it definitely lacked a WOW factor. FYI, the sake and lobster pairing was a complete miss.
Service was professional and attentive, but not engaging and ironically lacked passion. As a fan we were disappointed, but are hoping it was just an off night.
“Grilled” Calamari Quinoa Salad. I put grilled in quotes cause I didn’t char them. First time messing with calamari, so I got scared and grilled them for just a few seconds. Needed more quinoa as well. I only put 2 oz. I’d recommend at least 6.
