era: tired of waiting

When the path you’re on proves to have more sharp, uncertain turns and more uphill hikes than you were expecting, keep treading. Keep the faith. This is the path God put you on and the paths that He creates do not have dead ends. The paths that He creates will always lead you in the right direction.

With every mile, it may seem that the journey just keeps getting longer and longer, but it’s not how long you’ve been here that makes all of this matters. What makes it matter is the One Who is laying down the path, stone by stone, and keeping your feet steady the entire way.

You may not have access to the blueprints of this path, but you do have His Word. You do have the opportunity to trust Him when He says that He already has everything mapped out for you. Have faith that He is not going to lead you down a path that leads to destruction. Have faith that the wait itself produces the strength required to get where He is taking you. You won’t get there without the required preparation. You won’t get there without completely and wholly relying on Him to take you where you’re supposed to be, when you’re supposed to be there.

Yes, there will be days when it seems that the things you’re longing for are incredibly far away, but you have to find peace that God is incredibly close, with the blueprints to your future in His hand, and everything will always go according to His Will, exactly as He has planned.

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. - Psalm 119:105

Hearts Apart

Impatience has gotten ahold of me

I can’t bear it anymore

Am I the only one left?

Where have you gotten off to?

Someplace far?

Foreign country?

Well I called to let you know i’m tired of waiting

Come home please

With or without the things you long for, hold onto to the Lord and His timing. He’s not going to give you something out of season. He’s not going to hand you fruit that isn’t yet ripe. He’s not going to forget to give you something that was meant for you.

We often treat “God’s Timing” like a waiting game that we did not ask to be in and we don’t even know the rules of how to play. But God’s timing for things is all still apart of His Love for you, and His Love is not a game at all. We may have to wait for physical things in the same way we have to wait for plants to grow up from the ground, but we do not have to wait on His Love. And we have to trust that within that Love, He’s not playing games with our hearts. He’s not dragging anything out. He is carefully and strategically planning things out in our lives to manifest according to His perfect will and plan.

They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭126:6‬

The wait is long and hard, and often marked with pain, but by the grace of God it is never, ever in vain. God is still working and He has more in store that you have to know. Take heart, for this is not a game and there is no catch…these seeds will surely grow.

If it seems your feet have failed to leave the ground, take a good look around: You may have been here for years, but you are not stuck here. You are planted here. You are growing stronger roots and learning better Truth: what is planted, watered, and cared for will surely grow when it belongs to the Lord.

Yes, you are running a race. Yes, you only have so many days here on earth and you need to make the most of them, but at the same time, God is not calling you to rush through the life He has given you. You are not just randomly going from moment to moment and year to year like an arrow loosely aimed into the wilderness. God does everything with an intentional plan and purpose.

An in Him, everyday, you are growing in the things of the Lord, learning to trust Him more and more. You are growing stronger roots. You are learning that no matter what the world says, this is the Truth: God is not out to harm you and He is always going to take care of you.

He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1:3‬

Whether life seems to be passing you by faster than ever or everyday seems to go on forever, every single day is an opportunity to sit by the water and grow from the ground up. The water may rush by you all the time and the seasons may change before your eyes, but you are planted in rich soil, growing steady and healthy as the Lord strengthens you and makes you whole.
