unlike most people I see around bugblr, I haven't been interested in insects since I was a little kid - I'm only just starting to get into them at 30. do you have any recommendations for a good resources for learning about them?

Sure do!

https://www.insects.org/

This website gives information on insects found in Brazil, Ecuador, Hawaii, and Indonesia.

- The Entophiles button will give a list of common names for insects and the order they belong to. Each order/common name has a link to give you known species information as well as pictures.

- The CE Digest button will present you a list of articles concerning insects.

https://www.amentsoc.org/insects/fact-files/a-to-z-of-insects.html

A more broad website concerning insects.

-You will see a three column list of insects with their common names. You can click each name for more information, as well as other links for more information.

-There is a side bar full of buttons that can help you identify insects, become an entomologist, conservation, etc.

http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/bugs/

-This is an awesome place to find amazing photos and videos of insects in action from around the world. But NatGeo also has articles to read, along with pretty pictures. :)

http://www.insectidentification.org/

This is the website I used for my collection project for my entomology class.

-I personally love this website, because you can do a search on what you found! That is color, state/province where you found it, and general category you think it is.

-(This is for North American insects.)

I hope these websites help! I also recommend looking at colleges/universities that have an entomology department.  They often like to publish information about insects, and if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to help!

Welcome to bugblr! :D
