I’ve been on a binge lately for Christoph Waltz movies I haven’t seen yet, and Epic was on that list until recently. I finished it today and let me just say that Mandrake was easily the best thing about the movie. A doting villainous father? Sign me the fuck up. Also he easily had the best lines in the entire movie. “I’m going to destroy the forest. But I’m only gonna do it once, so pay attention.” xDDD I died. Love Mandrake.
Magickal Uses: Magickally, this herb is connected to the Magus card in the Tarot. The Druids incorporated it into girls’ coming-of-age ceremonies, probably because of its blood color, and it makes a good dye for wands.
This rare woodland plant used by old-time conjures and root workers as a powerful Guardian for the Family. It is believed by many people that when Blood Ties bind people together in permanent relationships but respect and consideration are lacking, The root chips can Ward Off Evil in the home and bring Better Luck in Family Matters. For this purpose, folks tie a red flannel bag filled with the chips and Rosemary Leaves over their lintel so that all must pass under it when entering. It is also burned on charcoal to bring about Good Relations with In-Laws and Peace in the Home.
