Can you, for a moment, imagine how dispiriting it is to teach five centuries of masculine ineptitude? History’s not such a frolic for women as it is for men. Why should it be? They never get round the conference table. In 1919, for instance, they just arranged the flowers then gracefully retired. History is a commentary on the various and continuing incapabilities of men. What is history? History is women following behind with the bucket.

Mrs. Lintott, The History Boys

I hate how Irwin and Dakin just laughed after Mrs. Lintott said this amazing dialogue. UGH!

The problem is that people who make drug films make them so fucking depressing. We wanted to make a film that actually gives you the rush of drug culture, you go out there and have a fantastic time and we wanted to reflect that. That’s what was so shocking about the book because it dares to say that it’s fucking wonderful. ‘They’ expect you to swallow the idea that only complete morons touch this drug, who haven’t heeded the warnings. That’s absolute nonsense! There’s a side of drugs which is absolutely fantastic, which is why we all do them at certain times and people will always do them.

Hecho en México
Written and directed by Duncan Bridgeman

Gotta admit I felt a little disappointed the director isn’t Mexican.
