there are three main geographical classifications when it comes to monsters in the united states:

1. rural south-west specters (cryptids, aliens, demons, physical embodiments of the general sense of unease that comes from standing in the middle of a cornfield, etc)

2. new england terrors (beached sea beasts, old gods, shadows in the fog, invasive species of monster brought from across the ocean, etc)

3. big city creepers (the rarest, most human kinds of monsters. vampires, doppelgangers, two goblins stacked on top of each other wearing a trenchcoat)

but of course many kinds of creatures can be found anywhere there’s people, and they go with you no matter how far you run
