Epilogue: A New Teacher

Previous Chapter: Chapter Fifteen: A New Gift

Note:  Thank you to everyone who read this story, and an extra thank you to the people who took the time to leave me a few words of kindness on each chapter.  You have no idea what it meant to me to have your support.  I hope you enjoyed this journey.  I did.  This may not be the last you will see of these two wizards, but this is the end of this story.  Thank you.

Amy was outside of her house with Gregory, her friend and the man who tended to her horses, when she saw Howard and his wife, Bernadette coming up the path. She dropped her work with the plants that had long gone from training to calming hobby.  Her training was now in much more complex spells, and she often went with Sheldon to work by his side.  She ran over to greet the pair.  It wasn’t often enough that any of her friends from town came to visit.

I'd just like to say: Chloe coming into the Dupain-Cheng bakery specifically when Marinette's on cash register duty and asks the names of pastries she already knows but just wants to hear Marinette talk, and eventually Marinette catches on but does nothing because she enjoys talking to Chloe

Words: 1968

Sabine smirked as she pulled a tray of croissants from the oven. “Marinette. I think your favorite customer is here.”

Marinette finished tying her apron behind her back and was pulling her hair up and away from her face as she got ready for her register shift. “Who now?”

Sabine jutted her chin towards the front of the bakery and Marinette followed her gaze, allowing herself a sigh and a small smirk when she saw who was meandering near the counter. “Stop teasing, maman.”

“It’s not teasing,” Sabine said. “She comes only on the days when you’re working and seems rather enchanted with all of our palmier flavors. Moreso than anyone else I’ve ever seen…”

“Oh hush, maman!” Marinette blushed, gently tapping her mother’s shoulder. “It’s nothing like that.”

“Don’t keep the poor thing waiting,” Sabine smiled as she carried the croissants to the counters in the back. “She must be eager to see you if she came right when your shift started.”

Marinette puffed her cheeks out and headed to the counter where Chloe Bourgeois was waiting, leaving her mother laughing and grinning behind her.

It started when Chloe had to come into the bakery to order a huge commission of mini-cupcakes for a dinner she and her father were holding. Because Chloe loved being difficult, Marinette had to take out all of their sample books, explain all of their flavors, all of their frostings, all of their fillings, and all of their options for garnishes for close to twenty-five minutes before Chloe was satisfied. Marinette thought Chloe was making her explain herself so much for the sake of being annoying until she came in the next day asking for detailed descriptions of all the chocolate cakes they had on display for no other reason aside from her being “curious about your selection of dark chocolates.” Marinette’s father was too close by at the time for her to tell Chloe to buzz off, so she humored her for twenty minutes before Chloe settled with just buying a regular old palmier and left without buying a single cake.

It was maddening, and for the next couple of weeks Chloe would come into the bakery when Marinette was working and ask her to rattle off all that she knew about their pastries, breads, cakes, rush orders, and catering plans….only to leave without having bought anything she had shown such a deep interest in.

It was ridiculous to think Chloe had a passion for baked goods, otherwise she’d bother her parents about this. It wasn’t as if Chloe was using this as an opportunity to make fun of Marinette seeing how she was oddly quiet and attentive whenever Marinette spoke. It wasn’t until last week that Marinette had finally picked up on the obvious.

Chloe came just to hear Marinette talk.

Ancients Sleeping Headcanons:

*Submission by the enchanting @kittyreaper

I really, really like the idea that all the ancients are super light sleepers, experts in the art of feigning sleep, and also keep some sort of weapon under their mattresses. A lot of them can also recognize people by their footsteps.

I think this headcanon works, as the ancients probably lived very dangerous lives. War are violence are still things in modern times, but back then… it was different. Instead of GPS, all you had were your instincts, prior knowledge of the area, and maybe a compass if you were far enough on the timeline. I believe it stands to reason that the ancients would each pick up at least one of these things.

I also believe it stands to reason that these things could lead to some pretty funny scenarios.

For example, some ideas for ancients visiting their kids/grandkids. It’s modern times and has been so long since they last visited that they can no longer recognize their kids’/grandkids’ footsteps.

Germania accidentally pulling a sword on Germany:

Germania: Um… I can explain this.

Germany: ?!

Germania: Okay, I actually can’t. I just said that to calm you down. Clearly, I failed.

Rome accidentally pulling a sword on Romano and Veneziano:

Romano: YOU DID WHAT?!

Rome: … //distressed grandpa

Germania intentionally pulling a sword on Rome:

Germania: Oh, sorry, didn’t know it was you.

Rome: … We live with each other, the fuq you didn’t-

ya know, i wish that Harry had gone back into the Chamber of Secrets (maybe to show Hermione it??) and he accidentally mutters something in Parseltonge and a secret compartment unlocks to reveal Salazar Slytherin’s diary.

and part of Harry is just internal scream of disbelief of what do all slytherin keep diaries???!? but mostly I just want him to read it and find that it’s basically an account of Hogwarts’ founding but Slytherin is just so Salty about EVERYTHING that the majority of it is him sassing the other founders (Gryffindor mainly tbh)

We four have discussed how we will Sort students after we’ve left this world, as none of us have any desire to become ghosts to carry on this task eternally, and Godric decided that we should enchant his hat into a Sorting Hat.

His hat.

Future students, I swear to fight this decision so you but Helga seems to think it’s endearing and is drawing up plans for it to SING of all things and Rowena is muttering about MOVING STAIRS.

I apologize if I fail to convince them otherwise on any of these accounts.

Salem, MA is downright enchanting and there is no time more magical than a foggy twilight. Modernity is lost to the haze and there’s the unshakable feeling that a ghost could make its way around any bend at any moment… We here at Wormwood & Gall draw constant inspiration from the nostalgic beauty of our city and strive to find attire for our clients that would make them seem at home on these gloomy, historic streets.

I think I’m going to post the entirety of The Enchantment Alternative on ff today. If you get emails from them about me, I’m so sorry if you get bombarded.

For the good of us all

In this AU Regina came through the portal into the EF with Emma at the start of Season 2 and Snow was left behind in Storybrooke. We pick up their story the day before Regina and Emma arrive at Lake Nostos to go back to Storybrooke. Assume up until this point Regina and Emma’s journey in the Enchanted Forest has followed the path that Snow and Emma took.

Enchanted Forest

Regina stared into the glowing flames of the fire in the pit in front of her. Once again thinking over her plan to get the Saviour back to Storybrooke. She was confident that she had considered the myriad of things that could go wrong and had effective contingencies in place but Regina had always been meticulous in her planning and this time so much more was at stake! She physically shuddered at the thought of just how much Henry would hate her if anything went wrong and his precious Emma was unable to get home to him… His real mother she scowled at the words. God it hurt to even think it. Emma “the Saviour” Swan - Henry’s real mother. No matter how many times Henry had said it, screamed it at his adoptive mother, it still burned.

She turned her face away from the flames as tears burned her eyes. He hadn’t even asked once about how she was. She had been stuck for weeks in the Enchanted Forest, traipsing through dirt and mud with the Saviour, facing ogres, Cora, all the while communicating with Henry through Aurora and the effects of a sleeping curse the Saviour had stood by and watched him eat. In all that time, Henry never once asked after her, the woman who had raised him for ten years, when his precious saviour had abandoned him. Never asked if Regina were alive or dead…

Stalking is all I want to do, as creepy as that may sound, when it comes to this bewitching pop song from NYC chanteuse Stalking Gia. Siren, which the singer songwriter has tagged as “mermaid pop”, is like a magical underwater frolic. Its electronic pop shimmers ever briskly and vivaciously while Gia’s sprightly voice dances across the surface of the song with graceful vitality. Stalking Gia is a ‘siren’ indeed on this infectious gem, which even carries hints of glamorous disco funk within its opulently feathered plumes. For all its effulgent dreaminess, Stalking Gia describes the song as being about “a flesh eating mermaid”. I don’t know about you, but that makes the song even more alluring in my books. In fact, I’d love to learn all about flesh eating mermaids, maybe even watch a dark comedic/twisted romance Netflix series about them. Anyone? And Siren could be the theme song! The cheeky enchanting single follows on last year’s sensational pop hit Second Nature, which spawned so many fabulous remixes. Re-visit Stalking Gia’s prior releases on Soundcloud, here.
