empire for life

With The Last Jedi 3 weeks away I decided I should post a theory I have regarding Rey’s family. I wouldn’t normally do this but as I’ve seen no one else post this anywhere online I decided why not. The theory is that Rey is General Armitage Hux’s half sister.

While my main theory is that she’s related to Obiwan, this would also work.

The Aftermath trilogy are books set between Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens, in which we find out a lot of information about Hux’s family and childhood, there seems to be a lot of focus on a character who had about 5 minutes of screen time. Almost like he’ll play a bigger part than we’ve been led to believe. We learn his father was called Brendol Hux who was quite a high ranking officer in the Empire. Although he was married he had an affair with an unnamed kitchen worker who was General Hux’s mother. Armitage Hux was born on the planet Arkanis but Brendol resented him and was abusive to him physically and psychologically.

Their planet came under attack by the New Republic and young Armitage and his father were evacuated by request of Admiral Rax, but his mother was not. This attack was part of the civil war which ended with the battle of Jakku (Rey’s home planet).

So my theory is that his mother managed to escape Arkanis and went to Jakku, there she met Rey’s father and they had Rey but then had to leave her for some reason. I reckon Rey’s father was a powerful jedi, maybe even Obiwan’s son. Neither Hux or his mother have the force, so Rey’s dad would of and it makes sense if he were a Jedi.

In TFA Rey is 19 and Hux is 34, while this gives a large 15 year age gap, in terms of time line it makes sense as Hux is 5-10 years old when he leaves Arkanis, while gives his mother 5-10 years to get to Jakku, meet Rey’s father and have Rey.

It’s been revealed we will find out about Rey’s family in the TLJ and it makes sense for her to be related to characters we already know. It wouldn’t make sense if she were Han and Leia’s daughter as they didn’t care much when she was kidnapped and Finn was freaking out, also when would they have had her? I can’t see her being Luke’s daughter either, I can’t imagine Luke with a woman and again Leia would have been more concerned about her. This means none of the more established characters could be here parents, but for her family reveal to have an impact she needs to be related to a main character. Her being Obiwan’s granddaughter is most likely but she could also be Hux’s half sister to have it relevant to the current plot. It could have a big impact as it could tempt Rey to the darkside or establish her more as a grey jedi and it would twist things in terms of the fight between the first order and the rebellion.

Rey and Hux are the only new characters with English accents so it’s plausible they’re related. Their facial structures are also kind of similar, which would have been taken into account when Daisy Ridley and Domnhall Gleeson were cast.

It is stated that due to his upbringing Hux believes it’s his destiny to rule the galaxy, this could then create a parallel with Vader tempting Luke to rule the galaxy with him “as father and son”.

Hux is gonna play a bigger role in TLJ, he’s on the official posters, the cover of vanity fair and he appears in the Star Wars Tours footage.

I think it could be a really interesting and unexpected twist, and it would be a completely different family dynamic to what we’ve seen in the past. I haven’t seen anyone else talk about this theory but it makes sense. Thoughts?

So… how about some champion!Shiro?

i’ve been thinking way too much about. fucking. galra empire memes lately

as in memes popular within the galra empire becuase BOY does life get dull when you’re part of a sprawling civilisation that hasn’t been challenged in 10,000 years

i’ve only thought of a few

  • -points at a random object going by outside the ship- “is that voltron”
  • -something incredibly minor goes wrong- “fUCK YOU ALTEA!!!”
  • ‘which lion would you pilot’ quizzes because let’s face it everyone and their progenitors dream of flying one of those babies one day
  • quintessence puns

Manon: Well, Asterin is giving me grief about sleeping with Dorian.

Aelin: You’re sleeping with Dorian!?

Manon: Catch up, Aelin. The whole world knows about it.

I think the reason Lars has become such a succesful Space Pirate (and so fast!) is because he’s 100% organic.

He can sneak in easily into Homeworld facilities because he’s invisible to Gem scanners.

If he’s ever caught he can’t be contained in force field prisons.

And he’s immune to destabilizing technology.

The Gem Empire has underestimated organic life forms for so long, they specialized all their defences to be used only on their own kind. Organic life is pretty much invisible to their technology now. I bet they never even considered the idea of an organic life form surviving long enough in their planet to pose a treat (If Lars wouldn’t have turned into a pink zombie, Steven and Lars would have simply starved to death in a few weeks).

Gem Society is completely unprepared for a fully organic adversary. If this is true, Lars may actually have even more advantages than Steven in Homeworld.
