“Oh, just sitting next to Kihyun...my ears are suddenly melting from his sweet voice...”
Before I met Monsta X, I didn’t think kpop idols could actually sing–especially during live performances. Boy, did Kihyun prove me wrong…
I have never seen anyone so in love with singing. His voice truly is a gift and I’m so grateful he shares it with us.
It’s so soft and soothing–he can bring so much emotion into a song.
But it can also be strong and powerful and cool just like the spirit of Monsta X.
When he performed Hyeya, it was like seeing destiny in play. He was given the number 8 and no one even noticed him but THEN!!!! He powerfully proved himself as Monsta X’s future main vocal. I cried (but who doesn’t cry watching no.mercy??). I was was so damn proud of him. He definitely left his mark and gave us something to remember.
In my members appreciation post, I talked about how reliable Kihyun is. It’s so hard to dance and sing at the same time but he is always there to confidently grab that chorus. Go Kihyunnie!
And don’t get me started on them riffs! In every single song, he does iconic vocalizations that give us the song’s well-deserved epic climax and finale!!! Do you know how hard it is to create your own in-tune melodies within a song and also have it compatible with the chorus!? Ya gotta listen to the whole song from start to finish and Kihyun’s riffs always make it so complete!
Kekeke but they don’t call him the mom of the group for no reason. Kihyun is so responsible and loving.
It’s so hilarious when the members complain about Kihyun waking them up and nagging them about cleaning. But, like we learned on the final episode of xray, it’s for the sake of the team!
My heart really hurt when he explained how when he sees things out of order, he just feels the need to fix it. My Kihyun…I feel like he puts a lot pressure on himself to strive for perfection–even though we love him just the way he is. But this is why I love him, too–and all of Monsta X for that matter. They are always so modest and always looking to improve and evolve.
Really, he just has certain standards that he strives for and I find this very inspiring.
Kihyun is such a warm person; he’s so friendly and charming. He can get along with everyone–whether they be a more talkative or a quieter member.
He is just being himself without overthinking; he understands and speaks to them (specially and personally) without an awkward atmosphere.
Kihyun has a tendency to touch the members affectionately. And it really reflects the kind of person he is. It’s so sweet and reassuring. Physical touch can go a long way when making sure someone feels loved. Just a simple touch of the shoulders or arm or holding someone’s hand–Kihyun really is a darling angel!
He has a whole-hearted laugh that makes everything ok!!!
Then I gotta talk about how adorable he is when he tries to be all cheesy and cool; and then gives into the embarrassment. So cute!!! He can’t handle his own cringe.
And then even more when he pulls it off and is so proud of himself hahaha.
The other members tease and make fun of him so much for being sensitive and prideful! But I love that about him! And he still cooks and cleans for them and loves them a lot! So sweet~
Speaking of cooking, Chef Kihyun is so cool. His cooking show is really relaxing!
And when he eats, he’s an adorable hamster. Keee look at those cheeks!
I love that he’s also a natural photographer!
Photographing members (because Monsta X is art itself) and having such an artistic eye for lighting and balance in his pictures–so much talent in one person!
And let’s talk about his commitment. Monsta X always go all out when they’re given a task–no matter how ridiculous; when Kihyun acted as Yeojoo in Xray, he fully committed to his character. Regardless of if it was a boy or a girl, he whole-heartedly gave us an impactful and believable performance–even though it was meant to be funny.
His acting was truly convincing and very admirable. He and Shownu did an excellent job together!
He’s so handsome! And so so pretty!
Like Wonho, I too am drawn to his mouth kekeke (in an annoyed but also intrigued kind of way…hahaha)
This money shot in Dramarama though! His soft face just goes so well with this hairstyle!!! Aaahh!!!
I remember at the Chicago concert, they were discussing who was the most romantic member and someone said it was Kihyun (who was off stage at the time) but Kihyun was still on-mic and he started singing Flower Cafe “Oh what a lovely day~” from backstage it was fucking hilarious and adorable hahaha!
Words can’t explain how much I love Kihyunnie…I just hope you have a great birthday full of love and laughter!
Happy Birthday, CUTIE HAMSTER MAMA KIHYUNNIE!!!
