emmys panel

anonymous asked:

The reason why Murray won't be at the Emmy panel on the 3rd is because he's attending an event in New York with Alec Baldwin for the Peter Shaffer Memorial.

Is that you, Murray?

Are you sure you’re just not scared you’ll get shouted offstage by the audience given Dar’s evildoings??

We’ve got your number!

What do you think about the timing of this Emmy panel? Seems strange to have it before the finale when if they waited a week they could discuss the season as a whole. Makes me think they don't want to answer questions about what happens in the finale. Gansa better not go radio silent again like after 5.12.. he needs to be willing to discuss his work. Idk, maybe it's just for scheduling reasons but last year this panel was in May.

My favorite topic! So, a couple of things. First, critics have widely commented that the rationale for moving the series to January-April was to be more Emmy friendly, among other reasons. That is, the closer the series airs to the voting, the more likely HL will be top of mind. Second, there’s no better time than right before the finale when we’re all on the edge of our seats to have a ‘for your consideration’ event, right? Lastly, wrt the one week difference, yeah, you’re probably correct. Gansa likely doesn’t want to discuss the finale. He’ll probably skulk off to Hawaii again.

Btw, my big Emmy question is whether ST is going to promote both Mandy and Rupes for the supporting actor category. In the unlikely event that both get nominated, it would almost certainly split the vote and neither will win. Last year ST promoted Mandy but he was not nominated. (He was nominated for seasons 2 and 3.)
