Women of The Whedonverse

10) Anya Jenkins - Buffy The Vampire Slayer
“For a thousand years I wielded the powers of the wish. I brought ruin to the heads of unfaithful men. I brought forth destruction and chaos for the pleasure of the lower beings. I was feared and worshipped across the mortal globe and now I’m stuck at Sunnydale High! Mortal. Child. And I’m flunking math.”

“Do you think the Timer actually works, or is it just a self-fulfilling prophecy?” TiMER (2009)

30 Days of Female Awesome - Day #2

Favourite supporting female character| Anya C. Emanuelle Jenkins

Let’s just say she provided much needed sarcasm! And even tho she seemed shallow sometimes, she WAS surprisingly sensitive, and holds a good part of my favourite heartfelt moments of the show.

“ I don’t talk to people much. I mean, I talk to them, but they don’t talk to me, except to say that ‘your question is irksome’ and 'perhaps you should take your furs and literal interpretations to the other side of the river.’ - as Aud (pre-deamon self)

I can just hear you in private, 'I dislike that Anya. She’s newly human and strangely literal!’ ” - as (newly human)Anya

Making up her past so the council doesn’t find out she was a deamon.

Anya: Anya Christina Emanuella Jenkins. Twenty years old. Born on the fourth of July- and don’t think there weren’t jokes about that my whole life, mister, cause there were! “Who’s our little patriot?” they’d say, when I was younger and therefore smaller and shorter than I am now.

When the coucil acuses Buffy of endangering civilians- children!

Buffy: We’re talking about two powerful witches and a thousand-year-old ex-deamon!

Anya: Wilow’s a DEAMON?!?
