emma watson makes me happy

…with the two people I love most in the world

I’ve been reading and watching The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, and it makes me so happy, and it makes me so sad? I love the characters and it all. A lot.

Emma NEVER said Romione wouldn't work. During the entirety of the movies filming Emma was 100% Romione supporter. She would always bring it up. She would always correct interviewers when they downplayed Ron. In the "infamous" interview she was on Ron's side much more than JKR. (And when she said "some people thought they wouldn't last" she wasn't talking about it being HER opinion, she was saying what Some FANS have said, which is true Some fans have said that. But Emma Watson never gave up.

That’s good to know! You spurred me to go off and search for some quotes from her. I didn’t want to go looking if she was just going to be saying a lot of rubbish, but it turns out you’re quite right! I looked for the original creator of this graphic but I can’t find a tumblr for a  “b-e-l-i-v-e” (if anyone knows who they are please let me know because I love this set)

Emma: “For the record, feminism by definition is: “The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes.”

I started questioning gender-based assumptions when at eight I was confused at being called “bossy,” because I wanted to direct the plays we would put on for our parents—but the boys were not. When at 14 I started being sexualized by certain elements of the press. When at 15 my girlfriends started dropping out of their sports teams because they didn’t want to appear “muscly.” When at 18 my male friends were unable to express their feelings.

I decided I was a feminist and this seemed uncomplicated to me. But my recent research has shown me that feminism has become an unpopular word.”
