Emerald Lake 2005 01 – Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada, September 2005
See how long you can sit quietly. No music. No TV. No conversation. No writing. No reading. Just you and the silence. Just you paying attention to the silence. Just you watching and listening to what happens in the silence. What do you think? Where do your thoughts go? What do you feel? Where do your feelings come from? What are you aware of? What is your level of comfort with what you are doing? What causes you to break it off? How long did you last? Repeat the experiment once a day for a month.
Mount Tongariro’s Emerald Lakes (NZ). The lakes are formed by water gathering in explosion craters. Minerals washed down from the Red Crater, and leached from the surrounding rocks, give the lakes their stunning colour.
