elsie lake

anonymous asked:

How about california, any cryptids or weird events there?

ohoho yeah. california is probably one of the most paranormal states there is.

CRYPTIDS

-the fresno nightcrawlers, one of my absolute favorite paranormal entities!

http://cryptidz.wikia.com/wiki/Nightcrawler

-elsie, a lake monster

http://mysteriousuniverse.org/2016/01/the-monster-of-californias-lake-elsinore/

-tahoe tessie, a more well known lake monster

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tahoe_Tessie

-the lone pine mountain devil, batlike winged creatures claimed by some to be a surviving raptor dinosaur

-the proctor valley monster, something like a cow/man hybrid

-the billawack monster, a goatman urban legend

-a one time encounter with a reptilian humanoid type cryptid

http://www.weirdca.com/location.php?location=119

-the cactus cat, not really a cryptid so much as a piece of folklore. a thorny bobcat that drinks fermented cactus juice, becomes drunk, and shrieks through the night

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cactus_cat

http://www.weirdca.com/location.php?location=166

-the ghost deer

http://www.sfgate.com/green/article/Tracking-the-legendary-Ghost-Deer-of-Northern-2549732.php

-the cadborosaurus sea serpent has been sighted in san francisco bay, though its home turf is british columbia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadborosaurus

-bigfoot deserves special mention here. california is absolutely riddled with bigfoot sightings.

http://www.bfro.net/gdb/state_listing.asp?state=ca

it’s the source of the patterson-gimlin film, the most well-known bigfoot footage, and possibly the best evidence of the creatures existence. (given how difficult to produce and complex a suit would have to be, the difficulty for a human to move in the way the creature does, and the fact that no one has yet produced the suit that wouldve been used in the hoax)

INDIVIDUAL GHOSTS/ENTITIES

-the ‘char man’

http://www.weirdca.com/location.php?location=77

-the ‘dark watchers’, shadow figures seen gazing up at the sky

http://cryptidz.wikia.com/wiki/The_Dark_Watchers

-the white lady of santa cruz: http://www.weirdca.com/location.php?location=592
