I couldn’t help but notice Elsa’s feet and body position here. Her whole weight was supported by Anna’s frozen body, her heels were almost in mid air. She doesn’t even bother to stand up or realign her position. She let her grief wash over her. Elsa is always graceful and always collected. And here, you can see just how broken and absolutely devastated she is. She gives no fucks whatsoever anymore because her whole world crashed and burned right before her eyes.
So for the first time in forever, she allows herself to break down. She holds nothing back. She mourns. She cries out. Suspended snowflakes and all. Fuck everything if her powers goes berserk or not because of the intensity of her emotions. She has no one left. She lost Anna and that was the end of everything for her.
This is the girl who slipped ONCE on her own ice and never allowed it to happen ever again. And here, you can just see everything slipping from her with no one to catch her if she falls.
Because all this time, Anna was the only one holding her together in one piece.
Okay haters, this is the look on her face when she saw Anna. LONGING. I mean, who would’ve thought Anna would come back for her after what happened? Elsa is genuinely surprised and touched and happy all at once right this moment. I’ve seen people write about how Elsa is a bitch and doesn’t care about Anna. WAIT, WHAT? ARE YOU SURE YOU WERE WATCHING “FROZEN” AND NOT SOMETHING ELSE? No one freaking dare tell me that this separation from Anna is something Elsa wanted 100% and she gives zero fucks about her sister after “Let It Go” and after promising herself that “I’m never going back, the past is in the past.” Because that “past” does not involve Anna. To Elsa, Anna is the present and the future and her actions were solely anchored by that. That’s why she left. To secure Anna a shot at living a life away from danger. Because she loves her. Because she loves her so much, she’s denying herself of everything just so Anna will be safe. She’s been doing that since she was nine years old.
“You belong in Arendelle…No, I belong here, Alone. Where I can be who I am without hurting anybody.”
“Please go back home, your life awaits. Go enjoy the sun and open up the gates.”
"I’m just trying to protect you.”
YOU. YOU. YOU. YOU’RE ALL THAT MATTERS TO ME. YOUR SAFETY ANNA. YOU BELONG IN ARENDELLE, YOU CAN RULE OUR KINGDOM BECAUSE I’M A MONSTER AND I WILL PUT EVERYONE AT RISK ESPECIALLY YOU. YOUR LIFE AWAITS. YOU HAVE SO MUCH IN STORE. I’M JUST TRYING TO PROTECT YOU. THIS IS ALL FOR YOU. I LOVE YOU.
THE WHOLE MOVIE IS ABOUT ELSA AND ANNA LOVING EACH OTHER SO FREAKING MUCH THAT THEY LITERALLY GAVE UP THEIR LIVES FOR EACH OTHER.
To those people who are bashing Elsa, I suggest you watch the movie again and apologize to your parents for being a disappointment. DISHONOR ON YOUR WHOLE FAMILY. DISHONOR ON YOU. DISHONOR ON YOUR COW.
Friendly reminder that Elsa had Arendelle’s banner carved in various places in her ice palace. On her door. On the walls.
And notice how Anna has Arendelle’s banner carved on her necklace. The necklace she wore during the coronation, when her and Elsa had a real conversation for the very first time in so long. Maybe Elsa had her home’s banner plastered on her ice palace because she remembered Anna’s smiling face and that Arendelle-carved necklace that she wore….when they talked, laughed, and smiled at each other after so many painful years of being isolated and separated from one another.
Maybe she wants this one single memory to follow her all the days of her life that’s why she had her home’s banner plastered all over her new palace, convinced that she’ll be alone forever.
But deep down, she knows she belongs in Arendelle no matter how much she tries to run away. She can run away from Arendelle all she wants, but one thing is for sure: Arendelle will always chase after her.
See, everything about this whole short shouts healing.
All of Elsa’s presents were hidden in places where she and Anna had experienced the most pain. I’d like to think that Elsa would quietly and carefully follow Anna all those years to see what she was up to and silently watch her and listen to what she was saying when she would talk to Joan and her Knight friends.
All of the places that used to be their refuge and their fortress that helped them to somehow forget their loneliness became a platform for second chances and new adventures. She made sure to bring Anna back to these memorable locations to mend her heart and her scars by filling what used to be lonely rooms with new and happier memories.
I know you used to talk to those knight in armor displays. You never have to anymore! I’m here now! You’ll never be alone again! You’ll always be with actual, real life people. The gates will never be closed!
I used to be so lonely in this room preparing for my coronation when we were apart. All I ever wanted was to talk to you and be with you—but we’ll never be away from each other again! I love you!
You think I wouldn’t see you look out the window, but I do! I’m here! The window is open and so is my door!
So this is the place where you met that jerk? I’ll make sure you only have good memories here from now on and for many days and years to come!
You never have to talk to paintings anymore. You never have to dream about having their adventures. We’ll have our own epic adventures! You and me, always, always, and always!
This is true love in its purest and unconditional form.
A lot of people were requesting Elsa and Anna for my closet cosplay challenge, and I replied to one of the comments saying that I’d only do it if Miguel does Elsa so we can continue our Disney siblings streak after cosplaying Tadashi and Hiro together. But then a lot of people apparently saw it and piled on and then this happened. _(┐「ε:)_
I didn’t think we’d find wigs for Elsa and Anna in our wig stash but
Miguel figured out that we could use two wigs to get their hairstyles.
We’re both wearing short wigs on our heads, with braided long wigs
dangling behind our backs. Hahaha!!
