REMEMBERING ELOMBE BRATH! So many of my closest comrades in struggle are making their transitions. Gil Noble, Amiri Baraka, Jitu Weusi, Chokwe Lumumba, Atchuda Bakre, John Watusi Branch, to name a few. And now my beloved brother Elombe Brath.
Brother Elombe was considered a walking encyclopedia on African Liberation and a pioneer in the cultural revolution in America. He showed us through his “Grandassa Models” that Black was beautiful long before it was fashionable. He was a Pan-Africanist Revolutionary Freedom Fighter of the highest order.
Brother Elombe will be sorely missed. Take your well deserved rest my Brother besides your heroes, Patrice Lumumba, Marcus Garvey, Carlos Cooks, Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X and countless others. Job well done my Brother! Forward Ever!
