Grande Marshall - 800

Hip Hop is alive and well. It was only a couple of years ago that one of rap’s biggest legends made the declaration that his first, true, and only love…. hip-hop, had died. Gladly for us, he couldn’t be more than wrong, hip-hop simply took a vacation and sought out more youthful artists to keep her warm at night. With that being said, out of the sheets crawls Grande Marshall, another young artist stemming from the city of Philly, which is looking like a hotbed nowadays for musical talent.

Plainly spoken Grande Marshall is nice (fabolous voice). On his debut mixtape 800 he shows a versatility that is lacking in many other contemporary artists' repertoires. He can hit you with a smooth track, a la EllieFox, or he can hit you with a trill track, a la jeezy voice. What separates Marshall from the pack, is the stellar production he has throughout the project. Featuring producers such as Dj Dahi, Ben Pramuk, Silky Johnson, Worthy, and Grande Marshall himself 800 has the right backdrop to keep music listeners entertained as Marshall exercises lyrically.

Some of our personal favorites are

Lupin II

Ellie Fox,

and Comas.
