Doctor Who Gifset School Reunion- Of course Sarah Jane Smith would be upset after losing K-9. He was the one thing that tied her to the Doctor and her adventures she had with him all those years ago. Yeah, he was a daft metal dog, but K-9 was her daft metal dog, and that makes all the difference in this moment.

The Sarah Jane Adventures: The Last Sontaran (2008)

I learned a long time ago that if you’re missing somebody, just look up at the night sky. Whoever it is, wherever they are, chances are they’re looking at the stars just like you. Sometimes, for all its size, the universe isn’t such a big place after all.

Im officially re-watching The Sarah Jane Adventures with my mom (who hasn’t seen it) and this is the best experience that’s ever happened in my life ever

And I would walk 500 miles…  | David Tennant & DW Company (x)

The Ark in Space  -  Homo sapiens. What an inventive, invincible species. It’s only a few million years since they crawled up out of the mud and learned to walk. Puny, defenceless bipeds. They survived flood, famine and plague. They’ve survived cosmic wars and holocausts, and now here they are out amongst the stars, waiting to begin a new life, ready to outsit eternity. They’re indomitable. Indomitable!

I feel one of the most important aspects of the friendship between Sarah Jane and the Doctor is in the episode “The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith”. And it’s not what you would think. It’s not the fact that he tries to save her from the Trickster and that he watches her to make sure she’s okay.

It’s the very end- when he comes to the attic.

This is a moment that isn’t normal for the Doctor- he usually beats the monster and then vanishes without a word. Even Sarah Jane says this “Sudden disappearing act; that’s him all over”.

BUT the Doctor doesn’t do that to Sarah. He shows up in her darkest hour. The man she loved is gone and the Doctor shows up. Not to distract her with a big grand adventure or monsters. But simply to be there for her. The man who can go anywhere and do anything shows up just so she knows that she isn’t alone. He doesn’t just show up when the world is in danger, but simply when Sarah needs him emotionally. He is there because his prescense is reassuring to her.

The man who walked among gods and held the key to time in his hands cares about her enough to stop in her attic just to see her when she needs him most. And he tells her how special and important she is, and not just to him.

It’s subtle and easy to miss, but that is what that scene is about and shows how much he cares about Sarah Jane Smith.
