Joseph Gordon-Levitt To Star In "Little Shop of Horrors" Remake

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to develop a new film version of the musical Little Shop of Horrors. The story began life as a Roger Corman film in 1960, famous for its pre-fame Jack Nicholson cameo. It was then turned into a musical by future Disney music superstars Alan Menken & Howard Ashman, which itself was turned into a movie by Frank Oz in 1986 with Rick Moranis, Steve Martin and Bill Murray in the Nicholson role.

“Lincoln” Trailer

The first trailer has been released for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln and it looks pretty fantastic.

Two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis looks to be going for a third here (though it’s worth noting that no actor has ever won an Oscar for a performance in a Spielberg film). If nothing else, this should at least be a palate cleanser after that other awful Lincoln movie this summer.

The supporting cast includes Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Strathairn, John Hawkes, James Spader, & Jared Harris. The screenplay was written by Tony Kushner (Munich) partially based on the book Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin. It will be released in the US on November 16th.

DC Animation Tackling Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns"

Not sure what to make of this just yet, but apparently DC & Warner Bros. Animation are releasing a two-part animated adaptation of Frank Miller’s super violent 1986 masterpiece The Dark Knight Returns.

Hit the break for casting news & some images.

New International “The Amazing Spider-Man" Trailer Contains Additional Footage Never Seen Before

I don’t know about you, but I’m outrageously skeptical over the new Spider-Man film. Do we really need a new origin story for Peter Parker, especially when it’s so iconic, and we’re only a decade removed from Raimi’s trilogy? And they’re clearly going the "Peter Parker created The Lizard” route, so what does that do to  Curt Connors’ character arc?

I want to be blown away by this film and proven wrong when it opens July 3, but nothing I’ve seen or read up until this point leads me to believe that will be the case. I dug Marc Webb’s first film (500) Days of Summer, I love Emma Stone, and I’m not totally against the casting of either Andrew Garfield or Rhys Ifans, but this whole endeavor just feels… unnecessary.

What do you guys think?

Opening Your Day: The Sopranos

Nothing in this world can make your drive to work more awesome than cranking this song up and pretending that whatever you’re off to do, it’s half as cool as what Tony Soprano was off to do.
