Ok but like Wells Jaha would have made everyone sit the fuck down and been like “y'all need to sort out your problems now”. His father would have never gone off and found alie. he would have helped Jasper with his PTSD, helped Monty understand how to support Jasper, Bellamy with his guilt about Gina and Mt. Weather, he would have given Octavia a reality check for the way she treated her brother, he would have reminded Clarke about who she is and where she belongs, he would have become a solid support system for Raven when she struggled with her leg. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SUPPORT SYSTEM THEY ALL NEEDED.
So let’s say, hypothetically, AOS gets one more season to finish off their remaining storylines. All of a sudden, Marvel TV announces a spin-off featuring Robbie Reyes. Here’s my fancast:
1) Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes / Ghost Rider
2) Lorenzo James Henrie as Gabriel “Gabe” Reyes
(AN: So I learned recently that Lorenzo is Italian. Shame on you AOS, now I feel dirty for keeping him on here)
3) Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson / Quake: Back due to popular demand from the fans, Chloe signed on for the Ghost Rider show. Daisy’s in-story reason is that SHIELD assigned her to watch over Ghost Rider since he returned, a task that she immediately accepted. I’d imagine her and Robbie’s relationship to be similar to Angel and Cordelia.
As for the other main AOS cast, I’d imagine there’d be 1-2 episode guest roles for them but nothing too heavy. I can see Mack coming on the show in a recurring role but Fitz, Simmons, Coulson, and May, not so much. Maybe just to say hi to Daisy.
4) Genesis Rodriguez as Lisa Ortega: A child prodigy / law school student who befriends Robbie after he stops a group of thugs trying to rob her. She eventually becomes an integral member to Team Rider and is Robbie’s main love interest (the Iris West to his Barry Allen).
Or is she? I’d imagine sometime around season 2 or 3, the writers would set up a love triangle between Lisa, Robbie, and Daisy. That’d be fun.
5) Becky G as Azucena Gonzalez: A high school student and Gabe Reyes’ best friend. She is a bit of a smart-ass but is vocal in her support of Ghost Rider.
Martin Sensmeier as Detective William Talltrees / Red Wolf: A LAPD detective who is assigned to investigating the Ghost Rider killings. He eventually finds out that Robbie is the Ghost Rider but has a change of heart when he realizes that GR is fighting only the wicked.
In season 2, William quits the LAPD and becomes the vigilante known as “Red Wolf”. As Red Wolf, he joins Team Rider.
7) Sophie Wu as Ruby Minh Tran: A half-Scottish, half-Chinese sorceress who hails from the London Sanctum Sanctorum. She is sent to Los Angeles by Doctor Strange in order to monitor the Ghost Rider.
A fun little subplot that I came up with is that Ruby reveals to Daisy that she was Fitz’s first girlfriend. They broke up around the time he left for the SHIELD Academy and she left for “cooking school” (magic training).
When Daisy asks for any funny memories with Fitz, Ruby says, “He tried complimenting me on our first date. I think he wanted to say I had a nice face but he ended up saying I have nice feet”. (that’s a reference to ‘The Fades’, a BBC show that featured Iain and Sophie)
8) Ryan Guzman as James Ramirez: A rookie sorcerer who hails from the New York Sanctum Sanctorum. He is assigned to work with Ruby Minh Tran and the two immediately clash (she’s a bit more sassy and fun, he’s a bit more stern and serious).
So Ramirez and Tran are basically the Fitz and Simmons of the Ghost Rider show. But instead of science, it’s magic. And instead of falling in love, they can’t stand each other.
9) Diego Boneta as Hector Morrow: Robbie’s cousin and Eli’s son. He despises Robbie and Gabe and has a bit of an arrogant streak. But as the series goes on, he eventually redeems himself by joining Team Rider.
So…the Draco Malfoy of the show.
10) Emily Rios as Alejandra Jones / The Punished Rider: A woman who was a victim of human trafficking. She eventually escapes her captors, who are all eventually killed by Ghost Rider. Inspired by GR, she joins Team Rider. She’s recognized as the ‘hardcore’ member of the team because of her sheer hatred of all criminals.
In season two, she takes on a Spirit of Vengeance separate from Robbie’s. It’s this moment that Team Rider realizes there can be more than one Ghost Rider.
To distinguish herself from Robbie, she nicknames herself ‘The Punished Rider’.
11) Santiago Cabrera as Dr. Javier Ybanez: Robbie’s best friend from childhood who grew up to be an oncologist. He is a member of Team Rider, offering Robbie his medical advice.
NOTE: Santiago is only on the main cast for season one. Javier is killed by Blackheart in the season finale.
RECURRING CAST (BUT PROMOTED TO MAIN CAST IN SEASON TWO)
1) Steven Yeun as Hannibal King: A private investigator who was turned into a vampire. He is now a vampire hunter, seeking to prevent others from suffering the same fate.
Hannibal King’s appearance is meant to foreshadow the appearance of Blade.
2) Emilio Rivera as
Lt. Michael Badilino / Vengeance: An army veteran who initially joins Team Rider as an ally. He eventually leaves the team due to growing tensions with Robbie. Robbie has a strict no-killing-of-innocents rule while Michael didn’t care for collateral damage.
Michael eventually comes across a Spirit of Vengeance and becomes a rogue Ghost Rider, simply named “Vengeance”. Although not a true villain, Michael ends up becoming one of Robbie’s main enemies of the show.
1) Walton Goggins as Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider 1: The original Ghost Rider. Johnny returns to Robbie’s life and acts as his mentor from time-to-time.
2) Naoko Mori as Roxanne Simpson-Blaze: An investigative journalist and Johnny Blaze’s wife.
3) Burn Gorman as Mephisto: Arguably the main antagonist of the whole series. He’s the Devil, nuff said.
4) Reg E. Cathey as Carter Slade / The Phantom Rider: One of the first few people to take on the Rider. He was Johnny’s mentor and ends up becoming Robbie’s mentor as well.
BIG BADS (ONLY GOING UP TO SEASON THREE)
1) Dylan O’Brien as Blackheart: Main antagonist of season one. He is a powerful demon and one of Mephisto’s sons. Blackheart comes to Earth, seeking to overthrow his father.
During his rampage, he manages to kill Javier Ybanez, which led to Robbie losing his mind and destroying Blackheart with the full power of the Ghost Rider.
2) Emily Kinney as Zadkiel: Main antagonist of season two. She used to be an archangel before being tossed out of heaven for attempting to usurp God. Desperate for payback, Zadkiel went after the Ghost Riders on Earth, seeking to obtain their power in order to be powerful enough to return to heaven and defeat God.
Zadkiel was eventually defeated in combat by Robbie, Michael, and Alejandra. To make sure she wouldn’t return, she was dragged to hell by Mephisto.
3) Kate Micucci as Andrea Wallace / Jose Zuniga as Eli Morrow (visions and voice only): Main antagonist of season three. Andrea Wallace was a struggling comedian who bothered no one. One day, while walking home from a gig, she becomes an accidental victim of a gang shooting. Just minutes later, she is resurrected after accepting an offer from a strange spirit who told her he would help her get revenge. The spirit was later revealed to be Eli Morrow, who also wants revenge on Robbie.
So Andrea ends up becoming the host for Eli. She’s still there but slowly loses her mind due to Eli’s influence. Like in the comics, due to Eli’s spirit, Andrea can transform into a being similar to the Ghost Rider. Because of this, Team Rider nicknames her “Fool’s Rider” since even though she looks and acts like a Ghost Rider, she’s technically not one since her powers didn’t come from a Spirit of Vengeance.
Andrea is eventually defeated by Robbie, who uses his Penance Stare to punish Eli’s soul. Although free from Eli, Andrea is quaked to death by Daisy in order to make sure Eli doesn’t return. This is the moment where Daisy starts becoming more of an anti-hero.
Who: A mental toddler full of hope and optimism out to do good in the world after imprinting on the superhero team A-force.
What: She is a sentient pocket dimension. She is able to teleport, blast things, fly, and hide people and things inside herself.
Why: Because Nico and her formed a deep bond and that is not easily broken.
Hazmat and Mettle
Who: Jennifer Takeda and Ken Mack. Both of these kids had fulfilling lives before their powers took away what they wanted. They found solace in each other.
What: She’s radioactive and poisonous, having the live in a containment suit because of it (until a poorly written ‘cure’ was applied to her). He used to be a surfer before he was turned into “Red Irridium” by being flayed alive. He’s super-strong, and super durable, but can’t feel much.
Why: Both Mettle and Hazmat clicked with Chase and Nico pretty well. One of my big criteria for Runaways team members is people thinking they might be evil, and these kids have that specter over them.
Plus, they could double date with Chase and Nico and be really, really cute together.
Who: Andrea Benton. A goth girl who is bonded to a hellspawn-infused version of the Venom symbiote.
What: aside from various venom-related powers (spider-sense, enhanced strength, enhanced agility, regeneration, enhanced durability, claw/tooth/and tentacle creation), she has a Hellmark which allows her some demonic magic/control over demons.
Why: She’s an orphan with an ‘evil’ power, and an ‘evil’ parent of sorts. And since flash seems to be letting her down a lot, she might as well hook up with the Ruanways.
Who: Selah Burke, daughter of Lightmaster (Edward Lanksy), a bright girl who was inspired by Spider-man to do good with science!
What: She has invented energy blasters and a jetpack that are all solar powered/light enhancing.
Why: Villainous parentage, and after her experience in the new Warriors, she might be more towards the Ruanways way of thinking (cleaning up the messes of adults, not bowing to their authority). Haeichi might join her in that regard.
Who: Elvin Haliday. A young kid who, thanks to chemical waste exposure, becomes a hulking figure. Former Avenger, New Warrior, and Lucha enthusiast.
What: He has Super-strength and Durability.
Why: He is pretty well solidly orphaned twice over. And his short temper has gotten him into trouble before, he could fit in pretty well with a bunch of kids on the run (though he’d blend in about as well as Ken Mack). He also shares a deep disillusionment with adults.
Who: Noriko Ashida, former leader of the New X-Men. Stubborn, and driven into depression because of her responsibilities as a leader.
What: She has electrical absorbing and projecting powers. She can also channel this into bursts of super-speed.
Why: let’s face it, her generation was basically abandoned by the X-Men. Putting her and her friends through hell easily disillusioned her. She can’t take that other members of her class still stomach the poor treatment they get from the established X-Men. Her mutation also forced her to run away from Japan to America (not an easy feat) and she lived on her own for months before being adopted into the X-Men (or as she sees it, “unknowingly drafted”).
Also, her and Victor Mancha might be cute together.
Who: Carmilla Black, daugther of pre-mutation Bruce Banner and Monica Rappaccini (one of the Scientist Supreme of AIM). Trained by shieLD to do infiltration missions.
What: Aside from SHIELD training, she has been given a Gattaca treatment to nearly ‘perfect’. She also has the ability to absorb and project poisons in the form of a ‘venom blast’. She is also immune to radiation.
Why: Villain parents give you insant Runaways cred. She might be there to spy on them, and then come to like them as a new family, just to make her eventual ‘traitor’ reval all the sweeter.
Because I am evil.
Who: Robbie Reyes, a good kid with dark powers from his evil uncle’s spirit.
What: Mystical empowerment, Hellfire, a sweet rid, blades and chains are all as his command. And he’s tough as hell.
Why: He’s living solo, though not off the grid. A young man still going to high school who works to keep his little brother well cared for is more along the ‘adulting’ path than the Runnaways, but I figure he could help them all survive better in the world. Chase, at least, could get a job at the shop with him. And his little brother would totally have a balst with Molly.
Also, him and Nico would make an interesting ship. Or Fusion.
Who: Rikki Barnes, girl without a world. Lives on her own, off the grid in order to battle the Secret Empire. a world. Lives on her own, off the grid in order to battle the Secret Empire. girl without a world. Lives on her own, off the grid in order to battle the Secret Empire.
What: She has no powers, trains as best she can, and stays off the grid as besst she can.
Why: Look at all that! Look at it! she’s taylor made to at least ally with the Runaways!
Who: Anya Corazon, twice orphaned, outspoken young woman with a drive to do good.
What: Standard Spider-Package with some mystical edges to them.
Why: Twice-Orphaned, and formerly working for a society that didn’t tell her everything. distrust of adults from that alone gets you Runaways cred.
Who: Daughter of Scott Lang, determined, driven, and with an inability to take ‘no’ easily.
What: She has size-changing powers, and she has tech that allows her to fly, blast, and control ants/wasps. Though there are some Heart issues she has to deal with …
Why; If it wasn’t for the Young Avengers, she was going to run away to LA to join the Runaways. She got along with them pretty well. Well, except for that incident with Molly …
Who: Aside from the above? She was rules strict and is learning they don’t always apply.
What: ice Powers, and she’s pretty buff.
Why: She was a Runaway in one world already, might as well make her one in 616. Also, she can crush on Karolina (or Nico, she does have a thing for Gothy Asians).
“What do we do?” Daisy asks breathlessly. “He’s made an atomic bomb and we can’t get close enough to shut it down.”
“We call (Y/N),” Phil declares and Daisy’s eyes widen.
“You really think it’s gotten that bad?” Daisy questions and Phil nods.
“We need her help.”
Two sharp raps on your door yank you out of the Harry Potter world and into reality.
“Miss (Y/L/N),” the new directors voice calls.
“Come in!” you invite and he opens the door. He looks serious and desperate.
“We need your help,” Director Mace says and your blood runs cold. If they need your help it must truly be a dire situation.
“Let me get dressed,” you mumble and slide off your bed. Director Mace nods and leaves you be.
Shuffling to your closet you pull out your catsuit and domino mask.
Time for Lucy to come back out.
You aren’t called into the field unless it is an absolute emergency, your powers are erratic and extremely powerful.
When you aren’t stopping world ending scenarios you’re working on Agent Morale for the Director.
“So I walk in, disable the bomb, extract Robbie Reyes, and arrest his uncle?” you remark.
“Yes,” Director Mace confirms and your stomach twists. “Fitzsimmons designed this box to hold the uranium.” He hands you a bulky briefcase and nods.
“I’ll be back in ten minutes,” you grumble and stroll into the building.
You’re instantly met by ten armed men.
Closing your eyes you let your mind open and your powers flex out. With one wave of your hand they all fall to the ground unconscious.
Walking through the building is easy for you.
You have full use of your brain giving you amazing skills such as telekinesis, shape shifting, mind reading, mind control, time control, and more. The downfall of your powers is that they can lash out unpredictably and they can destabilize your body to the point where you can become nonexistent.
You stroll into the main part of the building where Eli Morrow has the bomb making Eli whip around to face you and Robbie Reyes weakly look up.
Robbie is trapped in a radiated box around the bomb while Eli torments him.
“Who are you?” Eli demands.
“Lucy,” you answer and hold up a hand. It’s all too easy to reach into his mind and shut it down temporarily. He falls to the ground allowing you complete access to the bomb.
“From Shield?” Robbie croaks as you approach him.
“Yes, I’m going to shut off the pain center in your mind and pull you off those spikes,” you inform. With just the lightest concentration you reach into his head and numb the brains pain center, then you pull your hands back and use your telekinesis to pull him off the spikes and set him on the ground in front of you. “Next I’m going to speed your healing process.”
Robbie stares at you in awe as you wave your hand over his torso making his wounds close immediately.
“Are you inhuman?” he whispers in shock.
“No, I’m a brain experiment gone right,” you answer nonchalantly and step into the irradiated box around the bomb. You are unaffected by the radiation as you walk through it to get to the bomb.
Holding out your hands you cautiously pull the uranium out from under the bomb switch. It takes intense concentration to withstand holding it with your bare hands but you do it.
You can feel your molecules separating as you stretch the limits of your abilities.
Once it’s out you summon the radiation safe box from the van outside and place it in.
“Lets go,” you tell Robbie and step away from the radiation.
“Why don’t they use you all the time?” he questions incredulously as you leave the building together. You drag his uncle behind with your telekinesis as you walk.
“My powers are dangerous and if I use them too much my molecules separate and I disappear,” you explain and hold up your free hand to show him the increasing transparency of your skin. “Not to mention I’m not an official agent. I only came to Shield because the team rescued me.”
Robbie says nothing more and as soon as you clear the building agents swarm you.
“Good job today (Y/N),” Phil praises as he peers into your infirmary room. After every mission you do Simmons has to stabilize your atoms in the infirmary.
“I don’t like this Phil,” you deadpan and he frowns. “I don’t like the new director, I don’t like all this security nonsense, I don’t like Shield when I’m not with you and the team.”
“I know, I miss the way things were too. Just please be patient (Y/N) the team is coming back together. Daisy is an agent again so she’ll be staying,” Phil tells you and you inhale deeply.
“I’ll be patient.”
You’ll just wait until your team is back together.
Fitz sacrifices himself in the season finale in order to destroy AIDA and the Framework. But just when we’ve seen the last of him, Fitz is suddenly brought back to life.
The plot twist is that, like how Robbie became the Ghost Rider, he hears the “Devil” offering a chance to return to the land of the living to correct his mistakes. He takes it and becomes the new Ghost Rider.
BUT THEN, THERE’S ANOTHER PLOT TWIST.
Robbie Reyes returns from hell and reveals that he still has the Ghost Rider spirit in him. So Mack and Daisy asks what Fitz actually has in him since it can’t possibly be the same spirit that Robbie made a deal with.
It’s then revealed the “voice” that Fitz actually heard was Eli Morrow’s. So Fitz gets the comic book Robbie Reyes’ GR origin story. He is now possessed by the soul of Eli Morrow, who wants revenge on his nephew. That’s how season 4 ends.
Somebody tweeted me their video review of ourRobbie Reyes Ghost Rider debut issue and upon listening I realized that there are a lot of readers who only know Robbie from the Agents of SHIELD TV show and are confused by the events in the comic. LOL
So I thought I’d give the reviewers a quick breakdown on Twitter to get them caught up, and also clear up some of their misguided confusion about what Ghost Rider’s new series entails.
I think most of you who follow me on Tumblr know all of this stuff already. Haha. But for any new peeps: Check it out!
Thanks again for reading and supporting, guys! Greatly appreciated, as always!
Robbie: “And there’s nothing, just darkness, then I heard the voice was asking me if I wanted the second chance, did I want to punish them who hurt my brother, did I want to avenge my own death. I answered yes… more than anything, yes… and I was alive again and you’re right, someone was there when I came to, but it wasn’t a Good Samaritan, it was the Devil.
Yeaaasssss, there’s Johnny fucking Blaze!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG
