anonymous asked:

Can I still participate in the craft if I'm scared of fire and lighting candles?

Totally! You do not have to use candles if you do not want to!

Things to Substitute for Fire element:
-an LED candle
-a flashlight (Add some colored tissue paper around it to mimic fire)
-Pool floating lights are also really lovely as they typically are color changing so you can set your mood accordingly!)
-String/Rope Lights/Christmas Lights
-Red jewelry or red Crystals
-A Stick of Cinnamon
-make a paper collage of candles/fire
-Draw a candle
-An Empty Match Box

I hope this helps you Anon!

YOU CAN ALWAYS PRACTICE THE CRAFT NO MATTER WHAT. Doesn’t matter what materials you use/don’t use, you can ALWAYS participate <3

Consecration Basics

I’ve seen a couple asks around lately about how to consecrate something, so I thought I’d share my own method!

The idea behind consecrating a tool, item, or reagent is to purify it of previous lingering energies, and also to attune it to your own use. There’s lots of ways to go about this, but my favorite way (if my Green-witchery isn’t showing too much…) is via elemental consecration.

The idea is to expose your tool or charm to all four elements (Earth, Air, Fire, and Water), and, by your hand, magickally customize the tool to your use. For Earth, you can sprinkle salt, place the tool on fresh ground, place a stone upon it, or combine Earth and Water in saltwater to asperge.  For Air, the most common method is passing the tool through incense smoke, though the smoke from a candle or through burning herbs is just as fine. For fire, some choose to pass their tool lightly through a candle or balefire flame, and some other magic-users choose to instead hold their tool briefly above the flame, depending on the tool in question. For water, you can use oils or sacred water to sprinkle on the tool, write a sigil, or dip the tool ritualistically in a body of water (some correspondences for different water types, e.g sea, river, and lake, can be found under the water witch tag). You can seal the consecration with knot magic by tying a ribbon or string, engrave the tool with a personal sigil, or any other further customization you wish.

Consecrations are traditionally done within the circle during Full Moons or other witching occasions, but they can also, of course, be done on your altar when needed. You can also get creative - if fire’s not at hand, use the Sun, if your tool can’t get wet, try using a Lapis Lazuli stone. Endless possibilities!

The placement of Mars gives us a lot information about how someone use his energy, how he is motivated, what type of leader he is in a group (work groups, sport teams …) and if we talk about sport what is his style of play, what type of player he is for the team.

Mars in Fire Signs - The Leader™

Aries Cristiano Ronaldo, Hummels, Özil, Lewandowski, Götze, Pique
Leo Gareth Bale, Modric, Bellerin, Mourinho, Ancelotti, Arsene Wenger
Sagittarius Thiago Silva, Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Koke, Dybala

There is different type of leader but the one we think of as the perfect leader is expressed the best by Mars in Fire.
They are playing for the thrill, the adventure, the competition. Most of the time it’s just an healthy competition but watch out for badly placed ego if they feel someone is trying to question their identity or their place in the group.
They can sometimes be (perceived as) arrogant, too sure of themselves because they are proud people, proud to play, to lead, proud to win. Because that what they want the most. They want to be #1, to break records and make history.
They are very combative and assertive. They will take what they need to succeed without hesitation.
They are born to be entertainers and the truth is you will not get bored watching them play. They are not afraid to take risks (I’m talking about you Manuel Sweeper-Keeper Neuer) and have an explosive way to play, they want to show off and impress people … Some would say they are trying too hard and doing too much but they are passionate and when they are playing, they give everything and more. The sky is the limit for them.
They are the inner fire of the team and they lead others in the strict term of it. . They instinctively know the path to victory and their teammate just have to follow them on that path. They are a source of inspiration for their teammates in all area, they motivate the team and and don’t hesitate to push them past their limits to get the better out of them in order to win. Because winning is always the end goal for them. For what other reason could they train for ?

Astrology 101: Element and Modality

As you might already know, the zodiac is divided in twelve signs. Besides being divided in twelve parts, there are more divisions in the zodiac which group the signs in either four or three groups. The four group division, and the most well-known, is with elements. Elements talk about the nature of a sign.

Fire signs include Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Fire signs are known for their vitality and creativity. They represent the soul in Astrology.

Earth signs include Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Earth signs are practical and dependable. They represent the body in Astrology.

Air signs include Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Air signs are sociable and intellectual. They represent the mind in Astrology.

Water signs include Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. Water signs are known for being emotional and empathetic. They represent the heart in Astrology.

Congenial elements are Fire and Air; and, then Water and Earth.

Another way to group the signs is by modality. The modality is also known as quality of the sign.

Signs with Cardinal quality are Aries, Capricorn. Libra and Cancer. The Cardinal signs are enterprising and are known to start things. They represent beginnings.

Signs wirh with Fixed energy are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. The Fixed signs are stubborn and are known as the ones who actually finish things. They represent continuity.

Signs with Mutable energy are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. The Mutable signs are known as adaptable and are known as the ones who do all sorts of things. They represent change.

Sister signs are signs that share modality and are congenial elements: Aries and Libra; Taurus and Scorpio; Gemini and Sagittarius; Cancer and Capricorn; Leo and Aquarius; Virgo and Pisces.

Monster Hunter 101: Basic Elemental Blight's

Hey hunter’s, today in Monster Hunter 101, i’ll talk about some of the basic Elemental Blight’s you’ll be encountering most of the game (MH3U/MH4).

First we’ll start off with Fire Blight. When being hit with a flaming attack, or fireball, from monster’s like Ratian and Rathalos, you may experience fire blight, you’ll slightly be on fire, and it causes your green health to slowly deplete, as well as your red health, at an even slower pace.
The trick to getting rid of this blight is simply rolling 3 times, or if by water, roll into the water just once, Nulberry’s also work. Keep in mind that the weaker you are to the fire element, the stronger the blight will be.

Water Blight is actually a tricky one, people often question what this blight does. Well when getting hit by a monsters water attack, like Plesioth's water beam, will cause you to experience water blight, and what it does is simply cause’s your stamina to recover at a much slower rate, making it hard to keep up with monster’s, and it makes keeping track of your stamina very frustrating to say the least. Using a nulberry will cure you of this blight.

Thunder Blight is also one that raises many questions from beginners. In MH3U you’ll probably experience this blight the most, against Zinogre’s. Being hit with a thunder attack can cause this blight, and what it does is very simple. It increases your stun chance, so being comboed by a Zinogre will almost never end well, by the way, button mashing or rolling the circle pad, or control stick, can shorten your stun time. Nulberry’s are the way to go with this blight.

Ice Blight. A status condition that i personally hate with a passion, monsters like Jade Barroth can cause Ice Blight, if hit by an ice like attack, this blight greatly increases stamina usage, making it extremely difficult to keep up, or escape monsters. In other words, if you screw up, your done. Best thing to do is to either use Mega Dash Juice or Nulberry’s.

Dragon Blight. Okay, i lied, this in fact may be the most annoying blight in the entire game. It’s had some changes in comparison to previous games. Getting hit by Dragon Type moves, like Deviljhos Dragon Breath, will indeed cause this blight, unless you resist it ofcourse. In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, what it does is remove elemental/Status properties from your weapon. This means that if your using a thunder weapon on a Deviljho, and get dragon blight, the thunder element is blocked when effected by Dragon Blight. Nulberrys are your best friend , be sure to bring Nulberry’s when hunting monsters like Deviljho or Stygian Zinogre.

And that pretty much cover this edition of Monster Hunter 101. Some of these blights may confuse some new players as the effects they have on the player are not always as clear as day, so i hope this helps some of you hunter’s. Happy Hunting guy’s.

Wicca 101- The Elements

Note: Since I’ve received two notes and a response to this I should say this now.

No, I do not include Spirit. Many witches do, I do not. I pass no judgement on those who decide to incorporate this into their spellcraft. However, spirit isn’t an element. It is the unification of all the elements into a single energy. When I call the Quarters I do not call spirit. When I represent the elements on my altar spirit is not involve. Because Spirit, in my experience, is what happens when all the elements are involved.
