Uber Post #1
I know there’s been awful news about Uber lately and I’m not going to defend the indefensible, but all that aside, it remains true that if there were ever an industry that needed disrupting, it would be the taxi cab industry. This evening I took a taxi home from the T station and not only was the cab in as shite condition as cabs always are, the driver took a wrong turn twice during a literal 5 minute trip (and shouldn’t parking at a cab stand imply you’re familiar with the immediate area?), wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, and WAS SMOKING. You’d think with all the bad Uber press, cabbies would up their game, but no!
(and yeah, I could have asked him to stop smoking, but I hate conflict, it was a 5 minute trip, and it was so unexpected and brazen that in a way it was kind of cool.. made me feel either like I was in Eastern Europe or like I’d gone back in time 30 years, both of which are ok by me!)
