Shouto: Sister, I am Shouto, sorry for calling you during work, I have plans so I’m going to be late back home. You don’t have to cook for me. MM, I understand.

It’s more than plans, I ended up seeing a bulletin board during when I attended a club. That’s right, no doubt I do admire “this guy” (I think he means his father).

Hey Callyie! I was just wondering, do you have any tips on designing next gen ocs so they don't turn out to be carbon copies of their parents?

Oh yes, I have a lot to talk about for this topic. Was gonna make video about this but ehhhhhh, we’ll see.

The first thing I would say is not everything about the parent should be passed down to the child. I was talking about this on another ask about why Kingsley doesn’t have the eyeliner like Jack anymore. Chloe used to have it too even as children, which now that I think about it doesn’t make any sense. First of all, why would children wear eyeliner in the first place? And second, them wearing eyeliner doesn’t really go with their characters. None of them are emo punk like Jack was. So I think it’s important that you don’t treat the parent’s individual style as a genetic trait that their kids HAVE to have.

And for personalities, I feel like it’s believable that the child would pick up some of the parent’s behaviors and personality traits but they still shouldn’t be exactly like them. For example, Kingsley is twice of a genius compared to Jack but he’s super humble about it and he’s overall super nice, which really doesn’t relate to any of his parent’s base personalities. Chloe is bratty like Princess but is nowhere as perverted and she also has a mix of Jack’s assholey-ness.

Overall, I think for appearances and personalities you can mix and match some traits from the parents so they don’t become copies. I think once you get the basic genetics down, you should treat the character as their own person and add something aspects of the parents if you want. Or even go left field and make their child nothing like them.

Hope that helps for now.

Talk about your sister sign Capricorns 👀

HMMM I don’t have much to say about Capricorns - I’ve never really been close friends with one. But my favorite aunt is a Capricorn Sun/Aquarius Moon and she’s really cool, has a great sense of humor, but she’s so money hungry and cares about wealth too much. And there are many great Capricorns in popular culture; though I have to admit that they sort of fall into the “serious/mature” category like every other Capricorn I have known. I don’t relate to Capricorns at all, now that I think about it. I have Capricorn intercepted in my chart, so I never developed my Capricorn side. Mostly I just find them too serious though. People joke around them and they simply remain stoic, it makes me pretty uncomfortable. Overall I’m not too big on Capricorn energy, ehhhhhh it ranks lowwwww on my favorites. They’re okay but I don’t feel the sister sign connection to them, you know?
