Okay so this is actually one of my favorite parts of Naruto:
OKAY so Itachi and Kisame SOMEHOW MANAGE to get past Konoha’s border guards by scaling the wall ((LITERALLY WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT WALL IF YOU DON”T PATROL IT)) allowing Kisame–a 6-foot BLUE MAN with a very VERY distinctive sword who is definitely in the bingo book– and Itachi Uchiha–who was a previous anbu captain BEFORE MURDERING TONS OF PEOPLE AND fleeing the village in disgrace aS IN EVERY NINJA WORTH ANYTHING IN KONOHA SHOULD KNOW HIS FACE–to just walk around??? Like no one recognizes them???!! HOW MANY ninja do you think they’ve already passed??? EVEN Kakashi who SHOULD BE VERY FAMILIAR WITH ITACHI AND HIS CHAKRA doesn’t catch on until way later. SO Kisame and Itachi are in the middle of enemy territory where everyone should be able to recognize Itachi (if these ninja weren’t trash) and Kisame just goes:
“Kawanagare- Being carried away by a current/ drowning in a river” “ashinofumibamonai- There’s no place to stand in”
Kisame is very loyal to the Akatsuki. But why? It becomes quite evident in his last moments that he feels very indebted to the organization, and to those who asked him to join. This is because, like the other members, Kisame had no home, and the Akatsuki gave him one when he thought it no longer possible. Kisame also feels this sense of loyalty due to the fact that he betrayed others in his past. A sense of guilt that follows him around may contribute to his desire to remain loyal to his current alliance. He committed treason, and although he was raised as a killer, he still feels a twinge of remorse for his actions against Kirigakure. So here is Kisame, looking down at his reflection in the water, and seeing his past self, surrounded by the hands of the villagers he betrayed.
(and to the anon who requested Kisame, I was way ahead of you ;) Though this took forever to draw, for obvious reasons…)
