Heartbreaks’ a cold feeling that goes in a line across your body. It starts just at the bottom of your lungs and spreads across horizontally. It seeps downwards taking what ever warmth you had from the top. Leaving your stomach in a rain shower of bad emotions.
Guilt, shame, loneliness, you know you don’t deserve to feel any of these things but you do anyway. It spreads like frostbite, creeping everywhere until you’re consumed with self-loathing.
You weren’t good enough, they didn’t actually like you, you got too clingy, they were just waiting for you to go away. Now the dread in your belly is a comfort because at least you know you can still feel.
