Positive health effects of fat acceptance/HAES

The main point of most “anti-FA” or “anti-HAES” writing I see is that it’s “bad for your health”. Now, nobody needs to be healthy or perform health in any type of way to be accepted and respected as a person. However, I think most fat-positive folks like me who have worked on quitting diet culture and focus on intuitive eating have found that are are many positive physical and mental health outcomes, so I thought I’d make a quick list. Please add to it with your own things!

- no more restricting behaviors
- no more purging or related behaviors
- enjoy exercise more
- found a variety of exercises that I like because there’s no more pressure around exercise
- more nourished from eating a better variety of foods
- learned to honor hunger and fullness cues
- better mental health and more self love
- no more stress around food (stress is really bad for your health!)
- skin and hair look/feel better
- mood is better due to being consistently nourished
- less anxiety around being in public, which means I’m more comfortable going for walks or exercising outside

I don't know what is really going on in these picture, maybe some kind Modern AU and of evil organization is trying to get something out of Ed´s research [nothing new].
