Cheap, cheerful and characterful, what more could you want.
I have to say, this is probably the first Parisienne Restaurant I’ve been to
that ticks all those boxes. Tucked just off Boulevard Voltaire, near Oberkampf,
this Burger bar and Bistrot is only small, but probably serves the nicest
Burger I have ever tasted. With one
front man and one Chef, together they run a well-oiled machine of a restaurant.
The menu is not extensive, but offers a niche variety of Burgers designed in
house and which arrive without delay. Sadly all seven of us dining this time
had the same cheeseburger, so original … however each cooked to specific demand
with some alterations, which was no problem at all for the two-man show. Each
Burger comes with fries and salad and we were even offered further ‘frites sans
prix’. The Service is attentive, but not annoying and the restaurant has a sort
of worn rustic charm. Burger + ¼ bottle of wine came to 14 euros, pretty good
going if you ask me. Plus be sure to check on ‘La Fourchette’ for the listing
of this restaurant because they do midweek discounts too. Overall, on to a winner with this place.
Definitely a restaurant I’ll be going back to, or ordering take away… supplied
