The roar echoed across the bluffs, rebounding back off the cliffs to surround them so that it sounded like ten people shouting the name instead of just the one man Ryleigh could see standing alone up on a crumbling railing. Her neighbour. The guy who had warned her to stay away from the crypt club and his brother; was he part of this?
“Salim!” the crazy woman moved back from Ryleigh and shifted into a crouch, facing him. She seemed just as surprised to see him as Ryleigh was.
“Let her go, Margo!” he roared again and Ryleigh was happy to see she wasn’t the only one who startled at the sound.
Margo stood up and ran her hands down the front of her clothes, smoothing out non-existent wrinkles. “You’re just in time Salim,” she grinned.
