Why is capitalism bad for the environment? Capitalism (and neoclassical economic theory) were developed in a world where the economy was small relative to the containing ecosystem. Therefore it made sense that the economy could grow without impacting the ecosystem. The limiting factor was man-made (i.e. labor).
Today, humans (and the things which we have produced) are not small relative to the containing ecosystem. The limiting factor is not labor, it is our natural resources. Before, increasing the number of ships would increase the amount of fish caught. But if there are no fish left, then no amount of extra ships will increase the catch size (figure from Daly, 2005).
The problem with capitalism is that it does not recognise this obvious physical conflict between the growth of the economy and the preservation of the environment.
Long hours on campus can be grueling, especially on an empty stomach. Cafeteria and vending machine food is always extremely pricey, and it’s almost impossible to get a decent, affordable meal on a budget. I’ve created a list of 10 meal ideas for college students to bring to school with them to stay fed and sane. Each meal should cost $2 or less, an average of $10/week.
The ingredients listed are meant to be bought in bulk and parceled out to save money. Tupperware containers are also assumed to be available. Check the Dollar Tree for great deals on Tupperware!
RULES, RULES. This is important. You need to set rules for yourself,
and if you are truly ana, you will have no problem sticking to them
because you are STRONG! Rules are everything. Examples: Don’t eat
anything white. Do not, under any circumstances, eat after 6:00. Don’t
eat before 3:00. Cut each bite into x amount of pieces, chew x amount of
times. Do not eat anything that has over 3 grams of fat. Make your own
and keep adding to them.

bites, you’ll get full much faster. Remember it takes 20 minutes for the
brain to realize the stomach is full.

every time you see it/notice it.

stored as fat due to inactivity. Try not to eat too late, sleep burns
calories and is a good opportunity to burn fat with little effort. The
body must burn through all digesting food before taking energy from
stored food (fat).
you go out, take very little money or only enough to buy whatever
non-food item you plan on buying. This will make it harder to buy food
take bites, either from others’ food or while cooking, as the calories
add up surprisingly fast and you may not realize how much extra you’re
down everything you eat and its calories. This will make you think
before eating and also make you more aware of how much food and calories
you are actually consuming. You can also write down other things such
as how you’re feeling, who you’re with, place, time, and why you chose
to eat it, this will help you track patterns in your eating behavior.
Wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap it when you want to eat. Food = pain.

especially helpful if you are prone to night binging. Then make a rule
that you cannot eat before 6:00 or 7:00AM, this is like having a 12-hr
fast every day.

will help burn off the calories. If you eat soon before sleeping, you
absorb more calories due to inactivity and you put on weight.
Have a peppermint or peppermint tea. Peppermint decreases hunger.
Brush your teeth when you want to eat. The clean feeling and mint aftertaste will put you off food.
Press on your stomach when it grumbles. TUMS also stop stomach growling and have calcium.(5 calories a piece so be careful!)

it when you want to eat to remind yourself why you won’t. Or, write a
new list every time you want to eat. It’ll distract you, postpone
eating, and thinking of the reasons will inspire you.
a ribbon the size you want your waist to be. wrap and tie it around
your wrist like a bracelet. Every time you look at it you’ll be reminded
of your goals. When you’re tempted, take it off and wrap it around your
waist. See how close you are, or how far you have to go, and resist the
leave at least one bite of food on your plate. This will help you to be
able to stop eating and prevent binges. It will also stop you from
compulsively finishing portions even when you have eaten enough.
Save $1 for every meal you don’t eat, then use the money to buy yourself a non-food present.
Friends will only get in the way. Avoid them until you reach your goals.
eat in secret. This is a terrible habit that leads to compulsive
binging. If you wouldn’t eat it in front of all your friends you
shouldn’t be eating it at all! Also if you only eat around other people
they will know that you do eat and assume you eat alone as well, thus
lessening suspicion that you have an ED.
eat out of a box or jar. Always eat from a plate or bowl. This will
help you in several ways: You will see how much you are really eating;
you can determine in advance how much you will eat and not go back for
seconds; using a small plate or bowl will make you eat even less; you
can count/measure out an exact serving and know the accurate amount of
calories you are consuming.
Give clothes to Goodwill as they get too big for you. Don’t keep them around “just in case.”
If you live alone, put thinspo and/or reverse thinspo pictures on the pantry and refrigerator. A mirror works well too.

Drink it in the morning to increase metabolism for the day. Add lemon
to make it more effective and to add a detoxifying aspect.
Hot water with lemon is another good morning drink.

apple cider vinegar is said to raise metabolism, have a few
tablespoons, can also be mixed in water (with lemon would be best) or

Being disabled is expensive. I’ve got fibro and hypermobility, which means my whole body plays host to horrible physical pain and fatigue literally All The Time, and so I haven’t been able to work a regular job in a very long time. I also have chronic depression and anxiety and ADD and shit for an icing on the cake.
I live in Iceland and I’ve got wonderful friends, family, hubby, etc, and so I have had the luxury of being able to make ends sort of meet. Sort of.

Bakugou is not a morning person at all and the poor soul that tries to wake him up one day gets punched in the face. Bakugou is still asleep. he often kicks his blanket off in his sleep. is a very heavy sleeper
Iida sleeps in one position and one position only. the other kids try to move him into a different one one day and he will always go back into the position he was originally in. this fascinates the class.
Jirou sometimes plugs her earphones into her pillow when she feels scared at night, and listening to her heartbeat helps calms her down
Izuku mutters in his sleep. it’s just as disturbing as when he’s awake
Ochako chews on EVERYTHING b/c she’s used to starving herself to keep from eating and wasting money. some classmates have woken up to her chewing on their shirts/hair before.
Tokoyami sleeps with his covers over his head
Kouda sleeps with a nightlight. it’s bunny-shaped. he also sleeps with a stuffed animal.
Aoyama absolutely HAS to sleep with the covers on. even when it’s like 100 degrees he just can’t sleep without them on
Todoroki can’t sleep unless he’s on a tatami mat. but he is able to fall asleep when he’s near someone he’s comfortable with. this ends up causing some awkward situations with Izuku and Momo
Momo needs to sleep on super plush beds. she can sleep on lower-quality stuff, but she often tosses and turns and usually doesn’t sleep as well. she needs her cushy bed
Mina moves around a lot in her sleep and will accidentally punch or kick anyone close by. often kicks off her blankets
Sero prefers sleeping with thin blankets or without any. he doesn’t like feeling hot. has no fear and often sleeps with his feet hanging off the edge of the bed
Kaminari drools in his sleep. often. also snores. a hurricane could come and he still wouldn’t wake up.
Tooru is a cuddler and will cuddle against anyone who’s close by, regardless of who it is.
Tsuyu sleeps with 3 blankets on and curled up in a little happy froggy ball
Shouji sleeps with his limbs all splayed out and with a single blanket. prefers having a really big fluffy pillow
Kirishima both drools AND sometimes sleep punches people. will sometimes activate his quirk in his sleep and ruin his shirt
Satou is also a cuddler and always ends up hugging his pillow in his sleep
Ojiou sleeps with his tail wrapped around him like a cat and will curl up in a little ball. prefers sleeping with thin blankets. is a pretty light sleepr
