My most terrible habit is picking and biting my lips. I’ve done this since my teen years and because of that, my lips are scarred and gross. This is the only DIY lip treatment that has ever worked to plump and soften my lips in just one treatment. So I’m sharing it with you guys!

🔮DIY Plumping and Moisturizing Lip Treatment

💗 Brown Sugar
💗 Extra Virgin Olive oil (organic)
💗 Honey (I used local)
💗 Cling Wrap
💗 Peppermint Oil
💗 Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm

🔮 Mix brown sugar, olive oil, honey and a few drops of peppermint. Scrub on your lips 3-5 minutes. Add a little more of the mixture to lips then apply a piece of cling wrap. Leave on for 10 minutes. (I added a napkin and a cloth surgical mask to increase warmth)

🔮 Remove scrub, apply thick layer of Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm then apply another piece of cling wrap leaving it on for 20 minutes. (This part was the hardest because I couldn’t sip on my tea for a whole 20 minutes!) #southerngirlproblems

🔮 After 20 minutes remove the cling wrap and massage the remaining lip balm into your now super soft, plump lips. 💕

Zipper-dee-doo-da! Easy Zipper Tutorial

Recently a friend came to me, troll-speckled fabric in hand, asking me for a lesson on making circle skirts.

While I will get to posting that eventually, for now I used our lesson to get photos for (in my opinion) the easiest way to install a zipper.

First, increase the stitch length to the highest setting on your sewing machine, and without backstitching, straight stitch the pieces together where the zipper will go with a 1.5cm seam allowance.

This keeps the fabric in place and the long stitches are easy to take out in the end.

Iron the fabric open and pin the zipper right-side down with the zip lining up with the join of the fabric.

Using a zipper foot, sewing on the zipper with the short side of the zipper foot following the zip using a normal stitch length, straight stitch, and backstitching at both ends.

The hardest part is moving the zipper itself around when it gets in the way, just wiggle it around, take a deep breath and you will be fine.

Finally, take out the long temporary stitches from before to reveal your lovely zipper!

For a first zipper, she did spectacularly! Here is the gorgeous troll-tastic skirt :)

P.S. New drinking game: take a shot for every time I typed “zip” or “zipper”
