people who are against safe spaces have clearly never been in an environment where it wasn’t in fact safe to be themselves, to be queer or trans or black etc, and thus do not and cannot realise what needing a literal safe space feels like
There was a war between dragons started 400 years ago. The west continent Alakitasia was where some dragons were killing and eating humans as meals. They did not considered humans as equals. The dragons from the west were coming in to the east continent Ishgar.
Maybe Zirconis was talking about a dragon named Belserion wanted to have humans and dragons to coexist and attacked the dragons who were not agreeing toward to his idols. In the end, it created a civil war between dragons. Later known as the Dragon King Festival.
Belserion did not quit during the war between dragons. He had a good reason as to why he was protecting the humans from the enemy dragons. He was saved by humans.
Eileen/Irene wanted to fight along side Belserion against the enemy dragons. She created Dragon Slayer magic. She is the mother of all Dragon Slayers.
Irene/Eileen along with the army of Dragon Slayers came to fight along side dragons to take down the enemy dragons to create peace between dragons and humans.
However, there was some bad side effects when people who used too much Dragon Slayer Magic. They had uncontrollable behavior, severe motion sickness, and turning into dragons.
There was one person above everyone else who used Dragon Slayer magic turned into a malicious dragon because of Irene/Eileen’s invention. He killed his enemies as well as his allies and bathed in their dragon blood to gain power.
The malicious Dragon Slayer was known as Acnologia who is the current King of the Dragons.
Tell me, you’re from Israel?
Yes, I’m from there.
Oh, and where in Israel do you live?
Jerusalem. For the last few years I’ve lived there.
Oh, Jerusalem is such a beautiful city.
Yes, of course, a beautiful city.
And do you…you’re from West…or East…
That’s a tough question, depends on who’s drawing the map.
You’re funny, and do you, I mean, do you speak Hebrew?
Yes, of course.
I mean, that’s your mother tongue?
Not really. My mother’s tongue is Arabic, but now she speaks Hebrew fine.
Oh, ‘Ze Yofi,’ I learned that in the kibbutz.
Not bad at all.
And you are, I mean, you’re Israeli, right?
Yes, of course.
Your family is observant?
Do they keep the Sabbath?
Me, no, depends, actually…
Do you eat pork?
No, that, no.
Excuse me for prying, but I just have to ask you, are you Jewish or Arab?
I’m an Arab Jew.
No, I’m quite serious.
Arab Jew? I’ve never heard of that.
It’s simple: Just the way you say you’re an American Jew. Here, try to say “Europeans Jews.”
Now, say “Arab Jews.”
You can’t compare, European Jews is something else.
Because “Jew” just doesn’t go with “Arab,” it just doesn’t go. It doesn’t even sound right.
Depends on your ear.
Look, I’ve got nothing against Arabs. I even have friends who are Arabs, but how can you say “Arab Jew” when all the Arabs want is to destroy the Jews?
And how can you say “European Jew” when the Europeans have already destroyed the Jews?

Right now we’re travelling at 1,040 miles/hour as the earth’s surface spins from west to east. The earth circles the sun at 67,000 miles/hour, which itself is flying around the centre of the Milky Way at a blistering 483,000 miles/hour.
It’s funny how stillness is such a relative concept. We’re here in this dizzying rollercoaster of a universe, but if you sit and close your eyes on a quiet night, it feels as though nothing has moved in all of history.
A few takes of the Zen Gardens at Tōfuku-ji in Kyoto City, Japan. (from the brochure: “The Southern Garden (南庭) in the front of Hōjō (方丈) is the most contrived work among the four gardens and is composed of four rock-composites symbolizing Elysian islands - from the east to the west named “Eiju, Horai, Koryo, and Hōjō” - placed on the sand garden-floor “Hakkai” (meaning the eight rough seas) and five moss-covered sacred mountains at the right corner, the west side.”)
Tonight! An exciting sky event is occurring that will be quite visible (if it’s not cloudy) with the help of binoculars or telescopes.
The bright gibbous Moon occults first magnitude Aldebaran for viewers in most of the continental United States and Canada. The unilluminated eastern edge of the Moon moving from west to east will get between us and Aldebaran, hiding the star to begin the occultation. For viewers in New York City the event is predicted to begin at 9:31:53 p.m. the evening of the 19th. Aldebaran will emerge at the bright western side of the lunar disk as the star reappears at 10:43:29 p.m.
Contrast & Parallels: Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow
-Both of their fathers died before they were born.
-Both of their mothers died giving birth to them.
-Both were sneak away to a geographically opposite location from the one they
were born in order to keep them save from those who would harm them (Jon went
from South to North and Dany from West to East).
-Both grew up emotionally abused by someone close, Dany by
her brother Vuserys and Jon by his stepmother Catelyn (Dany’s abuse was greater of course, Jon’s was more neglect).
-All Dany had was her name and her brother, she had no
home and no security. Jon did not have a name but he had
a family, a home and security.
-One was educated by Maester’s and Master at Arms (Jon),
the other one was mostly self-thought with some education by her brother (Dany).
-Both are methodical but in completely different ways, Jon
is more analytical and Dany is more intuitive.
-Both are described as highly observant, especially throughout AGOT.
-At the beginning of their arcs they both embark on adventures. Jon
goes North to the Wall and Dany goes East towards the
-Both receive/find their magical companions at the beginning of their arcs.
-Both of the magical companions are the alpha’s of their pack. Ghost the wolf is
white with red eyes, Drogon the dragon is black with red eyes.
-Both have dreams about their animal companions.
-Both reluctantly join cultures that are considered barbaric by others. Both are
forced into a relationship from a members of these barbaric cultures. Both fall
in love with these “barbarians”. Both are indirectly responsible for
the deaths of their lover’s.
-Both think of these lover’s often well after they have died (especially
-Both have resided in extreme climates. Dany in the
dessert of the Red Waste and the heat of Slaver’s Bay and Jon
at the Wall and beyond the Wall.
-Currently, one is in the South and one in the North, one is in the East and one
is in the West.
-Both long for home and the family member’s they didn’t know.
-Both encounter abandoned cities in ACOK (back to back chapters Daenerys I &
Jon II) described as white cities, Whitetree and Vaes Tolorros.
-They both come to leadership at a young age.
-Both try to change long standing institutions, Dany is
trying to abolish slavery while Jon is trying to change
the Night’s Watch
-Both are trying to right wrongs committed by their ancestors, Dany
is fighting slaver with her dragons, where once upon a time the Valyrians used
their dragons to enslave people. Jon is trying to bring
the Wldinglings back into Westeros while once upon a time it was the north lead
by the Stark’s that left the Wildlings beyond the wall and kept them there.
-Both encounter great resistance from the establishment, those who wish to
maintain the status quo.
-Jon tries to change the system from within (as he is a
brother of the Night’s Watch and a Westerosis) Dany tries
to change the system as an outsider.
-Both face many setbacks and become increasingly frustrated with their roles as
-They are both betrayed by said establishment and face assassination attempts. Dany is able to escape her would be assassins by flying away a
top her magical animal companion while Jon’s assassination
attempt is successful because he locked away his magical animal companion.
-Both yearn for the child they cannot have, in ASOS Jon
lament that he will never have a son and in ADWD Dany laments that she will
never have a daughter.
“I might someday hold a son of my own blood in my arms. A
son was something Jon Snow had never dared dream of, since he decided to live
his life on the Wall.” When considering Stannis offer to become Lord of
Winterfell, which he rejects.
“I will never have a little girl. I was the Mother of
ETA: A few more
-Both have Mormonts as mentors, Jon has Jeor and Dany has Jorah.
Also, Jon wields the Mormont family sword Longclaw which once belonged
-While Jon wants to be like his father Ned, Dany is the opposite, she doesn’t want to be anything like her father Aerys.
-Both have chosen to place duty over love, Jon with Ygritte when he chose the Night’s Watch and the realm over her and the WIldlings and Dany with Daario (problem more lost) when she broke things off with him to marry Hizdhar for the good of Meereen.
-Both start their journey in AGOT with a feast. Jon’s first AGOT chapter is during the feast for King Robert. Dany’s first chapter in AGOT is the preparation for her wedding feast to Khal Drogo.
-Daenerys was offered the chance to return to Westeros, but she decied
to stay in Meereen to rule and help her people. Jon was offered to be
made a Stark of Winterfell, but he refused because he knows he has a
duty to the Night’s Watch, and because he feels that as a bastard, he
doesn’t have morally the right to be Lord of Winterfell.
Both want the best for all the sides, and both struggle to be accepted
by those they rule. They both turn their attention to the outcasts of
the society,to those other people refused: Jon cares for the Wildling,
and is the first Lord Commander in history to make peace with them and
allow them to cross the Wall; while Daenerys releases thousands of
enslaved people and does everything she can to keep them alive.
Both think of their family they never knew: Jon quite a lot of his mother, and Daenerys of Rhaegar and Aerys, and her ancestors.
-Daenerys feels the need to carry her Targaryen lineage and
fulfill the duty to her House, Jon also want to impress his adoptive
“He was no true Stark, had never been one … but he could die like one.
Let them say that Eddard Stark had fathered four sons, not three.
“Remember who you are, Daenerys,” the stars whispered in a woman’s voice. “The dragons know. Do you?”
What really bothers me when a non-Balkan person is trying to generalize Europe in big Western imperial power is that people always overlook the otherness of the Balkans. The western Europe perception of the Balkans as in-between - nor Europe, nor Asia - created the notion of internalized otherness and sense of uncivilized nature.
A lot of schoolers discussed the Balkan identity and how it is semi-European or insufficient European. Back in mediaeval times the term Europe was sporadically used as a distinction of the west Christian word from the east Muslim world. After the Ottoman colonization, the idea of Balkans being part from Europe was totally unreasonable. The European discourse on the Balkans ranged between inquisitive, mostly poorly informed exotism by travellers, impressed and terrified of the peculiarities of this close and extremely uncivilized region in Europe. It was even referred as “Turkish Orient”.
Moreover, the distance between Western Europe and Balkans grew lager in the Cold War when the conversation of Islam vs. Christianity was changed to Sovietism vs. American democracy. Balkans were once again left “behind” Western Europe in political, economical and cultural aspect. But why the need of inner otherness and Balkan orientalism is needed by the West? Through that inner otherness Balkan nations are told that they should seek for “normalisation”, erasure of “incivility”, but through our “abnormality” there will be no “normality” of the West. So internalization is needed because it sets a picture what Eastern Europe have to try to become and yet that should happen in its slowest ways so that normality of the West is sustained.
