Earl Grey Shortbread - cookies for prosperity and peace

Here’s a pretty simple recipe for cookies that I make a few times a month for my salon.

1 cup butter (room temp)*
2 loose leaf earl grey tea bags
1 cup confectioners sugar
Cream ingredients together until “fluffy”
*(if using unsalted butter, add ½ tsp salt. Salted butter: no salt)
Add in 2 cups flour little by little until dough forms and fully mixed.

It may be a bit crumbly, but take the dough and press it together, but try not to overwork it.

Split into 2-3 balls and roll into tube shape in a piece of wax or parchment paper and refrigerate for about an hour until firm.

Take out a roll and slice into ½" rounds and put on prepared baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees (Fahrenheit) for about 10 minutes.

When you see a thin golden brown ring around the cookies where they sit on the sheet they’re ready.

To frost, I use confectioners sugar (start out with about ½ cup and add more as needed) and add a little Creme de Violette (Violet liqueur made by Rothman & Winter) and mix until smooth. Should be toothpaste consistency and spread on the cookies.

To clarify, the black tea helps with prosperity, and the bergamot herb has use for drawing out peaceful dispositions. Violets draw out love and happiness. Sugar for sweetening positions and thought processes, and wheat for multiplying and fortifying the other components.

So these cookies are simple to make, delicate in flavor, and make you feel fancy af.

Hey friend! I'm a new kitchen witch and what will you say is one of the best and easiest recipes you ever made?! (Love your blog btw!)

Hey there! Well, welcome to the fold. I feel everyone has a bit of kitchen witch in them, or at least have experienced kitchen magic. That’s because anything that you make, or eat that does more than make you full, is magic to me.

When you eat something and it makes you feel better because it tastes like home, or something that makes you feel good about yourself, or how you feel that day, or light, that’s magic! (At least kitchen magic, and at least to me.)

So! Down to what you actually asked. It honestly depends on how simple and easy you want to get. So without further ado, amazing magical spice mix for mood boosting, emotional healing, and motivation.

Take ½ cup of brown sugar, add 2 tsp ground cinnamon and mix entirely. Put in an empty spice jar with a shaker top.
Make toast, put on butter, and sprinkle to your hearts content.
Cinnamon is connected to fire, has properties that help with circulation, and is purifying. Brown Sugar is warming, connected to earth and fire and both have common uses in love spells (especially self love since you’ll be eating it.) the wheat the bread is made of represents earth and water so it goes full circle because you smell it in the air.

For best results, eat for breakfast, especially if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Just make the toast, feel frustration, tension and bad vibes burning off on the toast.

I’ll post my Earl Grey Shortbread cookies for prosperity and peace tomorrow for a more serious (but still simple) recipe 😘

Baking makes an impression

I’ve been at my new job for 8 days. On day 5 I brought in earl grey shortbread cookies I’d made since I had extras. Gone by end of day.

Monday I made honey chocolate chip specifically for the office so a bigger batch. Gone by Tuesday.

Today I made cinnamon swirl bundt cake for a meeting and have yet to reveal it.

I’ve been here 8 days and have met all the members of my department, all the department heads, and almost everyone on the floor of my office building. They know me by name and offered help if I every need anything.

Share your baked goods…you’ll make friends and connections.
