Johannes Theodorus ‘Jan’ Toorop (Dutch pronunciation: [joːˈɦɑnəs teːoːˈdoːrɵs jɑn ˈtoːrɔp]; 20 December 1858 – 3 March 1928) was a Dutch-Indonesian painter, who worked in various styles, including Symbolism, Art Nouveau, and Pointillism. His early work was influenced by the Amsterdam Impressionism movement. Lady in white is an impressionist painting of a woman wearing a white robe, from 1886, by Dutch painter Jan Toorop.
