The phrase "Eyes On The Sky" is for some reason suggesting itself?

………………….guys I need a fic about Chuck and Dutch and Tennie hanging out on the Cablers’ Settlement, using their telescope to pick out patterns in the lights in the dome.  Making “star charts” and naming constellations and coming up with massive, sweeping mythologies about the heroes and monsters they shapes represent (because Dutch is amazing at designing monsters, and Chuck loves kings and knights and noble warriors, and Tennie has a spark, a catching point, she always knows how to make their brief, made-up struggles mean something).

Sometimes they come from a rough fight, and every new pattern they look at becomes a fearsome king with white robes and red eyes and armies of flying gargoyles or a poisonous plague or a gluttonous, thousand-armed monster or, or, or–

sometimes they leave the telescope alone for a while, and Tennie makes them hot drinks (because she’s the only one who ever learned to cook, and the boys are so startled and pleased by new tastes even after being down in Motorcity for more than a year).  And they don’t think about it, and they watch the stars.

hey tumblr. I would like to introduce you to the dutch Eurovision representative, Douwe Bob. In this song, Douwe talks about sexuality. He is, as you probably garner from the video, an out and proud bisexual. He is also a hilarious lil shit.

A rough translation for the non-dutch speakers:

In the store of love, there’s a lot of different flavors

there’s something for everyone

Do you like bananas? Or peaches

Delicious with whipped cream, or sprinkles or chocolate.

Maybe you fall for a she, maybe for a he

maybe for both

he, ho, bi

when you do it then you’ll feel the magic

he, ho, bi

you’re one of them. but which of the three?

(joke about different sexual sounding candy, doesn’t translate to english except for lollipop)

cinnamon stick, liquorice, lollipop, manneken pis* (not candy, famous fountain in the shape of a lil peeing boy. Don’t ask me ok Douwe came up with this idk)

you don’t know what you’re missing

if you’ve never tried it

Maybe you fall for a she, maybe for a he

maybe for both

he, ho, bi

when you do it then you’ll feel the magic

he, ho, bi

you’re one of them. but which of the three?

fucking, blowing, cunningulus (i can’t think of a better word. Yes he says this all while making eyes at the camera)

If you don’t want it, you should say so.

Both of you have to want it.

in the front, in the back

sideways

what makes you happy?

what do you enjoy?

he, ho, bi

when you do it then you’ll feel the magic

he, ho, bi

you’re one of them. but which of the three?

you’re one of them. but which of the three?

you’re one of them. but which of the three?

Chinese villagers threaten to sue Dutch collector over Buddha statue

Villagers from southeast China’s Fujian Province are threatening to file a cross-border suit in order to bring back a thousand-year-old Buddha statue, which is currently in the hands of a Dutch collector.

Lin Wenqing, a representative of the villagers from Yangchun, the place from where the statue with a mummified man inside had reportedly been stolen, said that they had completed collection of evidence with the help of lawyers.

The lawyers, he added, have on Monday sent a letter to the Dutch collector, Oscar van Overeem, to inform him of the suit.

The statue in question is believed to be that of a Buddha named Zhanggong Zushi, a local man who became a monk in his 20s and won fame for treating disease and spreading Buddhist belief.

When he died, his body was mummified, placed inside the statue and worshipped at the village temple.

According to a lawyer helping the villagers, Overeem has placed three conditions for returning the statue.

The chief among them is the demand that the statue be placed inside a large museum, rather than at the temple where it was originally located. That according to Lin is unacceptable to the villagers, as the Buddha is their “spiritual pillar.”

Overeem also reportedly wants to receive assistance from China’s cultural-relics department in visiting the country to study stone engravings.

And lastly, he has demanded some unspecified, in-kind compensation. The collector had previously claimed 20 million US dollars, which he said was for research and custody costs, leaving the villagers fuming.

After eight months of patient, indirect, and difficult contact with Overeem, the villagers of Yangchun decided to hire a group of lawyers in the hopes of recovering the statue they claim belongs to them.

As of now, they are still hopeful that mediation - rather than litigation – will lead to them once again regaining their honored possession.
