This lake was incredibly beautiful. The night before I took this sunrise photo I had taken Aayla on her last walk before settling into the tent. The lake’s surface was still and the reflection was perfect. There was no light pollution and it was a new moon. So that meant the sky was covered in stars, I couldn’t find any spots of darkness. The surface of the lake reflected the stars and the snowy peaks you see here. I stayed out there for over an hour just watching the stars both in the sky and on the water.
“#PackedForThis perfect day to take a bit of a hike.
I remember last summer going through a river in a slot canyon that ends with you having to jump off of three consecutive waterfalls. This place is called Cascade Creek Falls & you can find it about 20 miles north of Durango, CO.
Instead of jumping off the falls, I decided to hike to the bottom this time.” - Evan Atwood
