dunno why i was laughing so much when i had just lost

Q&A Transcript with Alex Hirsch at MomoCon 2017

Question: Before you decided to make Bill the main bad guy, did you have another character in mind that would have been the villain?

Alex: Yeah, um that’s a good question. Uh, so, when we came up with the villain of the show, I knew that… I knew that Bill was involved. And I knew that Ford had disappeared due to some deal gone wrong with some villain next to the mystery of how Gravity Falls was all assembled.

Um, but, I didn’t yet decide that Bill was that character in the very beginning, y'know? I had always imagined it was some sort of evil character somewhere kinda hidden in the woods. I wasn’t sure I could go with the Bill idea cuz I thought it would be too much like Twin Peaks, but as we got further along the series we discussed it among the repairs and we were like, ‘none of our other villain ideas were as good.’ Bill, Bill was weirder than anything else we thought of. Um, I remember there were other ideas. Strange monsters and government officials; some kind of cthulhu– some weird crazy old man. But nothing was ever better than Bill, so it ended up sticking. Probably somewhere around, y'know, season one– midway through season one, we started thinking we might be– might be on point.

Q: Was Grunkle Stan ever aware of McGucket’s connection to his brother?

 A: Oh, oh that’s such a good question. Wait, let me think about that for a second… Uh… lemme see… I don’t think so. I don’t think Stan was ever aware of McGucket’s connection to his brother. Because, by the time Stan traded identities with Ford, uh… McGucket had already gone off the deep end– Was already y'know, had already created the Society of the Blind Eye; had already lost his own memory. So Stan would’ve really only known McGucket as a local obnoxious fisherman.

And McGucket, probably somewhere deep in the back of his mind, was eerily just drawn to Stan in a way he just couldn’t put his finger on, because he thought maybe he knew him, but– I don’t– I think Stan was ignorant of that. Um, I think Stan… I think Stan looking through the journals probably should’ve put two and two together, but Stan’s not the best at book-learnin’. Uh, so… my guess is Stan wouldn’t have known despite that uh, that there’s a lot of tumblr art out there showing them as like the Scooby-Doo gang. I don’t think Stan ever really knew McGucket before.

Q: What episode do you believe came out the strongest and the most well rounded overall? And is it the same as your personal favorite episode?

 A: Oh gosh. Um. That’s a great question. Hmm… I probably feel, personally, that the strongest episode is uh, “Not What He Seems” just because it’s such a dramatic episode. Like, we know– We’ve never had an episode that dramatic. But, when we first pitched it to Disney executives… they thought it was bad. [laughs] Um, Because it didn’t have a lot of jokes in it? Like, I remember normally when we’re pitching our episode, executives can usually gauge how good they are by how much people laugh. People didn’t really laugh for that one, because it’s really tense. So we thought, maybe we’d screwed up. But, when the animation came back we were like, 'Oh! It’s GOOD that it’s tense. Like, it worked!’ Um, So, I dunno if that’s my favorite episode, but I think– that’s the episode we should’ve won an Emmy for, and I’m still pissed we didn’t. [laughs]

In terms of favorite episode, like… I dunno. I think the first episode that I really felt that the show was really starting to feel the way I wanted it to– “Time Traveler’s Pig” in season one. Like, that was an episode where Dipper had an interesting story, and Mabel had an interesting story, and uh, felt nostalgic, and based around the summer, and had a big secret callback to even previous episodes, so– I just remember when we first just got that episode back in color, I was like, 'hey I think maybe I like how I’m making this cartoon show,’ so I think that has a particularly fond place in my heart, y'know.

Q: Is Disney bringing you to SDCC or NYCC later this year to promote the journal and other books coming out?

 A: Right, um, yeah, Disney– Disney… Disney-general and me, have like– we’re divorced. Like, they kept the house, and the pets. Y'know what I mean? It’s… we don’t like get dinner or anything. But, the Disney Publishing department, separate from Disney Television, they’re really cool, and enthusiastic, and energized. And they wanna make new cool stuff. Um, so I think it’s possible I might be at D23 this year, and it’s possible I might be at Comic Con, but I don’t have anything confirmed yet.

Q: In the scene where Bill is trying to convince Ford to join him in the Fearamid, were there any other jokes or story beats that were considered?

 A: Which episode specifically are you talking about? [Q: The We’ll Meet Again scene.] Yea yea yea, We had a– Every scene that you’ve ever seen in the show has a ton of ton of stuff we’ve thought of and had to cut for time or other reasons. Um, I remember there was definitely a version of that where Bill was a lot trickier. Like, he sort of more successfully lied to Ford about like: 'We’re actually going to make the world a better place. Though I present myself as this chaos lunatic that’s just my personality.' Like, 'here’s ways in which we’ll IMPROVE the universe.'

Um, but it felt out of character. We thought it was much more like Bill to just draw smiley faces in oceans and eat the sun and just– hope, that the force of his charisma could convince Ford that that was a good idea. But uh, I feel like– I feel like Bill can be really really tricky when he wants to, but by the time Weirdmageddon showed up he’s so impatient, and he’s so convinced that he won, that he was no longer like, this brilliant chess master he used to be. He’s like, 'alright let’s do it! Do what I want or I’ll eat your face.’ Like, no more– No more, like– He wasn’t as smart a tactician as he used to be, y'know?

Q: Was “We’ll Meet Again” always the song you were going to use?

A: Oh yeah, it had to be that. It was like… I think I’d just seen Dr. Strangelove recently around that time and it stuck in my head. It seems to me, if Bill has a taste in music, it would be, like, old timey music that ranges from either weird to obnoxious to obscure.

Uh, Disney wanted me to cut it cuz it cost them a bunch of money to get the rights, even though it’s so old, it still cost them money to get the rights. And I just… said, please. Over and over and over again. I would send an e-mail that just said, 'please.’ And send another e-mail that said, 'please.’ And I would send another e-mail that said– Yeah. [laughs] Eventually I wore them down that they’re like, 'alright we’ll spend thousands of dollars.’ [laughs]

Q: Are real comics coming?

 A: You want comics? Would you read Gravity Falls comics?
[Audience screams]
[Alex leans his ear forward]
[AUDIENCE SCREAMS]

A: It’s a terrifying noise isn’t it, Michael? I was at a… Gravity Falls gallery, and like, they didn’t tell us how many people would show up, and it was like, THAT noise echoing from every corner. And uh like, I think I lost a year of my life. My hair started going gray, and it was like, 'oh my god, this is too much love! It’s terrifying.'

Comics. I would love to do Gravity Falls comics. Um, I have so many… One of the tough things about a half hour show like Gravity Falls is every now and then we think of an idea that we really liked, but it was too short for a half hour; 'oh that’s only five minutes of story’– Or it’s too specific and weird. And so I have tons and tons of ideas of the show that y'know we’d like to explore this character, we’d like to show this secret, this storyline. So, I’d love to do comics. But, that’s up to Disney Publishing, and I’m trying to convince them. So, hopefully, I’ll have something exciting to announce in not too long.

Q&A with Stan and Soos

Q: Is Dipper adorable or manly?

Stan: Dipper smells like baby wipes. Even if I cut off all my shoulder hair, and taped it to him, he wouldn’t be 1/10th as manly I am.

Q: What would you do if Mabel told you she had a date to prom?

Stan: I would… invite the gentleman over, have some coffee, tie him to a chair and interrogate him for 10 hours, and maybe throw him in the pit. [shrug] Hands off my neice, kid!

Q: What would happen if Soos met Giffany again?

Soos: Oh yea, I recently downloaded this couple’s therapy sim? Uh, I think she and I would have to talk about our issues and pass around a conversation pillow, and really work out these struggles. Cuz she’s got some problems, dude.

Q: Soos, why are you so perfect?

Soos: Yeah, uh, my grandma said that a whole bunch of doves flew down and formed the shape of a perfect angel over my crib. I dunno, dude I guess I was just born that way.

You love me, right?

A/N: Maybe not exactly what you had in mind, but I hope you enjoy.

“Don’t touch me!” you giggled. But Harry didn’t listen as he continued to reach for you, narrowly avoiding the bicycle kicks you were sending his way.

“Oh, come off it, m’hands aren’t that cold,” he said with an eye roll as he finally got you to settle beneath him. His hands rested on your sides, and while your flesh was protected from his chilly fingers by the thick fabric of your sweater, you could feel the coldness hovering above.

“They are freezing, Harry.” You looked around best you could with Harry keeping you still, trying to find some way to escape. But you were trapped in the middle of the bed like a raft out to sea with no sight of shore.

“Fine, fine. Won’t touch you.” His shoulders slumped in dejection, bottom lip protruding pathetically. You looked for signs of movement; you’d been in this relationship long enough to know Harry never gave up without a fight. “But yeh know, love, cold hands mean ‘ve got a warm heart.”

Your eyebrows raised, mouth in a hard line. “That is the biggest load—”

The words hardly left your mouth before Harry’s hands infiltrated your warm sweater. He roamed the expanse of your warm body, squeezing and tickling all the spots that made you squeal. Maybe it wasn’t his cold hands, but the sound of your laugh echoing throughout his bedroom did make Harry swell with warmth.

“Harry…Harry, please,” you pleaded through heavy breaths, tears leaking from the corners of your eyes. “My tummy hurts…think you’ve given me a cramp.”

I Thought I Was Coming With a Flu

The cold water felt wonderful against your hot, flushed face, soothing the feverish sensation. You delicately patted the droplets off of your sensitive skin with a soft fluffy towel. Observing in detail your reflection in the mirror, you didn’t recognize the person looking back at you anymore.

Dark circles around your eyes,cheeks shrunk to half it’s normal size- displaying the cheekbones through thin, pale skin - It’s been, what two, three weeks since you started to feel sick… you didn’t keep count anymore. Your neck looked longer and thinner, not to mention that you’d lost at least 20 lb and all of your jeans were baggy now, even your sweats started to slide down your hip.

You carded your fingers through your dirty hair, moving  it to the side and contemplated your languid face once more before rinsing your mouth with the last of mouthwash; what was the point on brushing your teeth if you were going to throw up again in like 20 minutes?

You made your way down the hall to the kitchen, stopping once or twice to catch your breath; you couldn’t be off bed for more than a few minutes without feeling like you were going to faint. You finally reached your destination and laid against the doorframe, to regain your composure and were immediately greeted by the worried looks of the Winchester brothers.

“Morning to you too,” you said in a sarcastic tone.

“Hi,” they said in the unison.

“Umm… Hun, you know it’s 5 in the afternoon, right?” Dean was getting up so you could seat on his place, even though there were a lot of empty chairs.

3. Wingman // Nurseydex

« {Part 3 of my Valentine’s collection.} »

a/n: sorry, this is two days late, but it’s also almost 3k, so…. hopefully that makes up for the tardiness? also! please note that this fic doesn’t have anything to do with ngozi’s short comic, wingman. your characters are safe. content warning for underage alcohol usage.

This is definitely not what Dex signed up for.

He’d expected Nursey Patrol to involve limiting Nursey’s shots and keeping him from dancing on tables, which, okay, would have sucked, but this is honestly not much better.

“Soooo, have you met Dex?” Nursey says for the third time this night, like imitating Neil Patrick Harris is still funny. He’s dragged Dex over to yet another group of female athletes that he’s going to have to do his best to avoid for the next three years of his college career. Nice.

“Hi,” Dex says awkwardly. “I’m Dex.”

“Pssh, I just said that,” Nursey says, slinging an arm over Dex’s shoulder and leaning on him only a little more heavily than he might have done sober. “He’s usually a lot brighter than this, ladies. He’s a CompSci major—super smart with computers and shit. Plus all that typing means he’s good with his fingers, if you know what I mean. Just look at those hands—”

“Okay, that’s enough, Nurse. Sorry, you guys, um. Bye.”

He pulls Nursey away from the girls and—fuck, he’s pretty sure one of them is in his Stats class, dammit. Nursey stumbles behind him obediently, letting Dex drag him over to the kitchen. Dex fills Nursey a glass of water and Nursey drinks it dutifully, standing next to the fridge.

“Okay, so remind me why you’re trying to humiliate me in front of half of Samwell’s female population?” Dex demands when Nursey finishes the glass.

“‘M not humiliating you,” Nursey insists, then waggles his ridiculous eyebrows. “I’m trying to get you laid.”

Pairing: Bucky x F!Reader
Warnings: some self-deprecation, a little social anxiety as well? Bucky being a flirt, tooth-rotting, cavity-inducing fluff

A/N: I’ve had this idea for a one shot in my head for a while and I figured I’d take a break from Begin Again to write this out before I lost it. Hope you enjoy xx

You stood in front of the full length mirror making final adjustments to your make up, swiping stray eye liner from the corner of your eye. Tony was throwing another party to keep up public appearances and unfortunately, you felt obliged to go. Tony was your friend and if he was going to suffer, you decided that you would too.

You were dressed in a tailored dark wine red playsuit with black opaque tights and black heels. It was slim fit, and the neckline rested only a few inches below your neck so it was sophisticated enough but not too stuffy.

You heard the door open as you threw your eye pencil back into its place when -

‘Doll, are you - hello, gorgeous.’

You rolled your eyes playfully, looking at him in the reflection of the mirror, but blushed. He looked impossibly handsome - broad-chested and dressed in an all-black suit, the only colour coming from his gentle cerulean eyes and full pale lips. His hair was brushed back and you knew you would have trouble concentrating on anything else but him.

‘Turn around, lemme get a look at you.’ His words were meant to sound sultry but there was a near-goofy smile on his face that essentially just described Bucky himself.

You obliged, quirking an eyebrow. ‘I dunno, Barnes, you seemed to be enjoying the other view.’

Bucky flicked you on the forehead playfully. ‘Get your head out of the gutter,’ he smirked, making you giggle, before wrapping his arms around you and kissing you gently. In your heels, you were still a couple inches shorter than him.

Ever think about what moving in with Harry would be like?

He’d wake up on move in day all smiles, even though it’s still really early in the morning. His place is all packed up, save for the mattress he’s slept on and his phone and charger that are on the floor next to him. And when he see you’re calling, his smile grows even bigger as he answers with a “Today’s the day, button!”

When he shows up to the new place, you’re already there directing the movers with your boxes. You’re a bit perturbed when he’s got his hands full of snacks instead of his boxes, but this is Harry and of course he would come bearing gifts for the movers to express his gratitude, even though he’s already paying them a healthy sum and will undoubtedly pack on a hefty tip at the end.

And you can’t help but marvel at the easy conversation and (bad) jokes he shares with the movers. Everyone loves Harry, especially you. No one is safe from his charm. And when he catches you watching him, he winks and excuses himself, making his way toward you. “Haven’t properly said ‘good morning’, have I?” He fixes all of that as his he holds you by the hips and presses his lips to your forehead.

anonymous asked:

four word prompt: please don't hate me

i was already working on this and then pictures of harry and a baby showed up today so i figured it was only appropriate to post dad harry today.

She crawls across the floor to Harry where he sits on the couch, little hands grabbing his trousers so she can pull herself up. When her tiny head pops above his knees and she sees him smiling down at her she squeals in delight, causing herself to fall back on her butt.
“Oh no,” Harry laughs, leaning over his knees so he can see her, “You alright, angel?”
She smiles up at him, rocking back and forth on her bottom. Harry checks his phone quickly and seeing what time it is, stands to go make her a bottle. “I’ll be right back, angel.” Avoiding telling her just what he was doing because she could pick up on words like “bottle” now and would probably start screaming. “Stay right here.” He lifts her and then puts her in the playpen, kissing the top of her head before heading to the kitchen.
He hated the formula, thought it smelt awful, but the doctor had insisted we switch over when he noticed she wasn’t gaining enough weight on your breast milk. It had absolutely crushed you and Harry remembered spending the whole night holding you and assuring you that you weren’t a failure and that it was out of your control.

“Y/N! I lost Connor.” Felix groaned as he made his way over to you.

“How long ago?”

“I dunno, like five to ten.” He sighed, knowing that the fashion guru could practically be anywhere in the mall at this point. You’d be surprised at how fast the sun kissed boy could move.“ He said something about a fifty percent off sale.”

“No telling where that boy ran off to. Here, help me with this.” You then held up a dress and a skirt.“Which one?”

“Uh…I wanna say the skirt because this is a pretty peach color, but the dress is gorgeous.”

“Cute gorgeous or thotish gorgeous?”

“Thotish, definitely.”

“Exactly what I’m looking for.” You smiled and Felix let out a laugh, shaking his head at you.

“Trying to purposely look like a hoe?”

“Nah, but Connor told me to buy something slutty for tonight.”

“Ah, I see.” He began to scan through the clothing rack, a smile on his face as he thought about what a mess his lover was. “Connor is insane.”

The Mask

a/n: this is just because i get cinderella vibes from “i don’t even know your name” and i’ve always wanted to go to a masquerade ball for some reason

The rapid knocking on your door distrubed your study session, causing you to groan. Standing up, you opened the door and saw your friend smiling brightly, pushing herself into your apartment. “Um, come in, why don’t you?” You asked, closing the door. “What’s up? Thought you had a meeting or something?”

“I didn’t need to stay.” She waved off that idea, and unlocked her phone. “But I got a text from Emily, and she said that there’s this masquerade thing next weekend and apperently a lot of people are going so I thought it would be a good idea if we went! You’re always complaining about not having a boyfriend so maybe this will be your chance to find one! And look really pretty, too!”

You laughed, sitting on your couch. “A masquerade ball?” You pondered the idea for a few moments. “Yeah, sure, I’ll go. Seems fun.”

“But there will be free drinks and- wait, did you say you’d go?” Your friend asked, stopping herself. Apparently she thought you wouldn’t want to go.

“Yeah, I could use some fun, and I think a masquerade ball would be really fun!” You nodded, picking up your book. “Now shoo, I need to study for a test.”

Your friend nodded, going to the door. “I’ll text you when we can go get dresses! And a mask! We need to wear masks!” She let herelf out of the apartment, and you rolled your eyes, excited for the party.

BTS and First Kisses

aye, new stuff coming out bc i’m a piece of shit that can’t get anything done hah. MY BFF IS FOLLOWING ME WHY AM I POSTING THIS KIND OF SHIT AHH

  • Seokjin

God, poor Seokjin. He’d be nervous and he’d stutter a lot and his ears would get a deep red when you caught him staring at your lips. His confidence would be long gone, only being able to muster tiny ‘uh-huh’s and schoolgirl giggles. If you asked him what is wrong he’d try to brush it off with a dad joke or some stupid pun, but his hands would tremble a bit when he started to gesticulate wildly so that he can get your mind off of it. If you did show signs of you wanting him to kiss you, he’d get a little bit more confident, sighing deeply to get you to stop talking while staring at your face. Then, he’d lean in a bit, cupping your cheeks in his hands, leaning down if he had to, asking you if it’s ok. If you said yes, he’d peck you, no more than three seconds. When he leaned back, his eyes would shine brightly and the widest grin was on his lips, his thumbs stroking your cheeks lovingly. Then he’d tell you a stupid pun and ruin the mood but it’s okay, he’s Seokjin and you love him so. *shrug*

“Hey, Y/N” “Yes, Seokjin?” “Can I borrow another kiss? I promise I’ll give it back.” *wink*

  • Yoongi

MY LOVE He would be so flustered!!! He wouldn’t even plan it, you two would probably just sit down and talk about random stuff and you would get very into it and he looks at you with heart shaped eyes and he’s all soft and he has this tiny trace of a smile on his face and he’d think you looked so cute and precious and kissable when you got excited so he just leaned in a bit. Then he stopped, realizing what he was doing, but you’d probably catch on what he was trying to initiate because he kept on looking at your lips, so you’d stop talking and he wouldn’t even notice this fucker. Then you’d smile sweetly and be like “what’s wrong?” and he’d get all blushy (i’m not joking, his ears get red and his eyes get really really big) and he’d start stuttering, until he’d bite his lip cutely and mutter that he wants to kiss you, not being able to look at you in the eyes. Then, without letting you answer, he’d lean in, cup our cheek with one hand, the other going to hold yours and he’d give you a peck (that was actually at the limit between a peck and a kiss but yoongs cannot differentiate them so…). Then he’d lean back, with pink still dusting his cheeks and open his mouth to say something witty, but the only thing getting out would be a dreamy sigh while he looked you deep in the eyes. Then he’d lean in for another kiss, this one deeper. Way deeper.

“Yoongi, were you nervous~?” “I wasn’t, you dipshit. I was just daydreaming.” “About kissing me?” “Shut up.” *hides his eyes behind his fringe, head low so that you cannot see his blush*

(hah can you see that i’m head over heels for him)

  • Hoseok

Hoseok wouldn’t be any different, maybe a tad bit more silent, but it wouldn’t be a noticeable change, so you wouldn’t suspect a thing. He’d keep on staring at your face, your lips especially, and when you turned to look at him he’d get a light blush on his cheeks, but you would probably be so into your story that you wouldn’t really notice. If you did look at him longer, though, he’d scratch the back of his head and turn it in the other direction while smiling nervously. That’s probably when you would start to think something’s wrong. He’d deny any of your “Are you sick?” questions, but at some point he wouldn’t be able to control himself, so after a tiny whine, he’d grab your face and smash his lips against yours, in a kind of messy kiss, but enjoyable nonetheless. When he’d lean back, he’d smile the brightest smile you’ve ever seen on him and his eyes would conquer the sun and I’M WEAK he’d giggle a little and mutter an “I’m sorry, I just couldn’t hold back” right before you leaned in for a second kiss, this one tamer.

“Wah, you got flustered!” “I did not, Hoseok.” “Yes, yes! You did, I can see it on your face~” *giggles and stomps his feet in enthusiasm*

  • Namjoon

I feel like crying ok there it go. Namjoon would be SO flustered. Like, he’s flustered in general around you, but when he felt the deep urge to kiss you he’d get so squishy. He’d blush and stutter and laugh nervously and scratch the back of his head and avoid your eyes and. Jesus, someone save him. He’d smile brightly if you’d ask him what’s wrong, and he’d say a soft “I’m fine. I just feel like I have something to do.” You’d be very very confused at first, and he’d chuckle before deciding to be straight forward. He’d lean in way too fast and bump his forehead in yours and he’d mentally curse himself for being such a fool. But not really mentally. “Ah, why am i so dumb” he’d whine while rubbing his forehead, a pout forming on his plump lips, being convinced that the moment was lost and he ruined the mood. But it’s Namjoon, you have to expect this, so you’d just giggle and peck his cheek, whispering “Try again” against his skin. His eyes would widen in shock, but he would recover fast, before leaning in again, this time slower, and pecking you WITH THOSE GOD-LIKE LIPS JESUS FCKIN CHRIST SPARE ME AUSADHKFJ. When he’d lean back, he’d smile sheepishly while his eyes formed tiny eye-smiles and his cheeks would have a pink tint and he’d gigGLE AND ASK YOU FOR ANOTHER KISS.

“Why did you wait so long before kissing me.” “I dunno, I guess I just wanted to be sure you wanted it. And I didn’t want to screw it up like I did the first time” “Don’t beat yourself up for it! It was amazing” *says you while you peck his lips for the third time, leaving him flustered*

  • Jimin

Random, but i just realized just how violent i’ll get when i’ll write the Jungkook one fml. Back to it. Jimin would be so shy omf. I know I already said that all of them would be shy, but really, all are flustered. Besides Taehyung. But he’s next so we don’t talk about him. So Jimin. He wouldn’t know how to bring up the topic of kissing, so he would just sit there awkwardly, trying to avoid your gaze without making you worry too much. So he would just be a shy bun. I think you would have to kiss him, though, because he doesn’t seem like one to initiate it. However, if you do not want to/can’t initiate it, there are times when he gets all cheesy and confident, so your first kiss would be the cheesiest out of all of them. He wouldn’t want to make such a big fuss, but it would mean a lot for him and he knows that the only way to make himself do it is to do it big. I mean, go big or go home, am i right? It would happen somewhere in a park, or on the street, when you two would go on a walk, but suddenly it starts raining and Jimin is like “thiS IS MY CHANCE THE ONLY ONE” and he gets super excited and giddy but you get confused so he tried to tone it down. Then, he whips an umbrella out of nowhere, pulls you really close so you two can fit under it and looks deeply in your eyes, before his eyes start scanning over your features, stopping at your lips. He’d lick his lips instinctively and lean a little bit down, giving you the chance to stop him. If you don’t refuse him, he’d lightly, gently rub his lips over yours, acting like such a light action could break you, then pulling away, smiling brightly when you pout, whining that “This wasn’t a proper kiss, Park Jimin!”. He’d laugh, leaning over once again to give you a real kiss, in the middle of it putting the umbrella down so you two can kiss while the rain pours over you. So cheesy, Jesus Christ.

“Jimin why are you so cheesy?” “Ah, don’t act like you don’t like it~” “I do, but not when I’m soaking wet!” “Oh… sorry.” *giggles nervously while lifting the umbrella once again*

  • Taehyung

So this one right here would be the chillest. He wouldn’t plan it at all and it would be completely random. It could be while you two were playing video games, or when you watched an anime, or when you were shopping, cuddling or talking. He would look at you, keep his gaze on you, then his eyes would slip from your eyes to your lips and be like ‘Huh. I love this person so much. How come I’ve never kissed them?”. Then he’d lean down, tenderly touch your cheek and look deeply in your eyes. In that moment, Taehyung would be serious, something he isn’t always, and when he gently pressed his lips on yours, he’d make sure to show you what he feels through that kiss. When he pulls away, rubbing your cheek and grabbing your hand, he’d chuckle nervously, showing you his boxy smile while his eyes glistened.

“I know I’m not always talking about how I feel, but I hope that after this you’ll remember how much I love you, alright?”

  • Jungkook

I’m suing. I feel like crying and I just started. Jungkook would be a blushy, quiet, sweating mess, the room getting hotter each second, his eyes never once leaving your lips, unless you teased him about it. Then he’d look everywhere else but you, his eyes scanning the entire room, before focusing on one vague object, spacing out. When you asked him if he was listening, he’d nod his head slowly, and honestly, he looked on the verge of tears because boy was confused and scared and flustered at the same time because he didn’t know what to do. You were standing there, looking ethereal, but extremely worried because of him and he didn’t know what to do because he desperately wanted to kiss you but he didn’t know if you wanted to do it too and he didn’t know if you’d enjoy it and he didn’t know if he’d do it right. He was so shy and alarmed so he muttered “I want to kiss you” before he could contain himself. Then, an awkward silence took over the room and Jungkook aggressively face palmed himself multiple times mentally because how could he possibly fuck up the easiest thing in a relationship. It took him long enough to hold your hand, and the world didn’t explode when he did. But now? Now everything was falling and he was falling too, until he felt your hands cupping his cheeks. That’s when he went back to reality, a reality in which you were sitting in front of him, with your hands on his cheeks, your eyes looking lovingly at him as you stuttered out a “Then why don’t you… uh… do it?”. That was the cue. That was when Jungkook grabbed your waist with one hand, the other holding gently the back of your head, trying to hold you in place as he pressed his lips against yours, a relieved sigh escaping him as he closed his eyes. I feel like he’d be the member who’d hold the kiss the longest, probably only pulling apart when you pushed him because you needed air, and when your breathless form pressed closer to his body, our hands clawing at his t-shirt, above his shoulders and your knees nearly bucking under you, he felt like the world was again how it should be, but this time sitting in his hand, not leaving soon.

“Oh my god you look like you’re going to explode.” *giggle* “Y/N, STOP, I’M NOT” “you are and, jesus, your neck is flaming up too! Why are you so nervous?” “Because you are very important to me and I didn’t want to disappoint you- STOP CUDDLING UP INTO ME YOU’RE NOT HELPING.”

Jungkook’s is literally so long i’m laughing sorry.

Some of them are longer, while the others are shorter. I’m sorry for that, but I couldn’t bring myself to rewrite them or try to make them longer. It would only make them seem fake.

I'll Be A Better Man Today (3) - Reggie x Reader

Summary: Reggie pulls out all the stops to attempt to win you back.
Warnings: maybe a swear word
A/N: final part to this series! hope you all enjoyed this.

**

Friday finally dawned; as you crept out the front door you automatically looked towards the kerb. No Reggie. Were you disappointed or relieved? You couldn’t say for sure. Driving into the school lot, you noticed that Reggie was absent from there too. You didn’t know if this was a good sign - your heart ached a little at the thought of him giving up on you so quickly. You told yourself that if he refused to become a better person for his own sake, you didn’t need him. As much as it hurt to fully understand that, it was the truth.

The day went by, and you didn’t see Reggie until lunchtime. He passed by you in the hallway, a smile as big as the sun on his face. Half the football team were with him, but he paused momentarily to cheerfully greet not only you, but Jughead. When Jughead returned the smile - albeit a lower-watt version - you began to wonder if you had somehow crossed to an alternate dimension. Jughead noticed the way you stared at him; ‘You okay?’

You nodded, slowly. ‘Did Reggie just…’ you trailed off, unable to find the words. Jughead had to hide a knowing smile; instead, he just said, ‘you know, he hasn’t said or done anything to me since last week.’ Your eyes almost popped out of your head.
Your best friend nodded, carrying the conversation in a careful, calculated, casual tone. 'Yep. Not one bad word or any attempt at a physical assault. I’m surprised, too,’ he informed you. Glancing back over your shoulder, you caught a glimpse of the raven-haired boy as he entered a classroom. Had yesterday’s outburst really gotten through to him?

You and Jughead found the usual crew, sitting around a table outside. Still feeling off-balance at the revelation that it’s been a week since Reggie had done anything bad to Jughead, you were silent, deep in thought, as you sat next to Veronica. Jughead watched you, carefully. Time for phase two, he thought.

'So, Arch. You nervous for the big game tonight?’ The red-head chuckled and shrugged. 'Nah, Reggie’s been killing us in training, but I think it’s gonna do us good tonight.’ Turning to the three girls, including you, he posed the question, 'You’re all coming, right?’

Betty nodded and Veronica winked- 'as if we’d miss out on cheering for our favourite ginger!’ It was a silly question, really. The girls were River Vixens, and Cheryl would have their heads mounted to her wall if they failed to show up.

You, on the other hand, shook your head. 'No, I think I’m gonna stay home and study,’ you said apologetically. Jughead froze. This was not a part of the plan. He leaned in closer to you.

'C'mon, (Y/N/N), even I’m going,’ Betty smiled at this and reached to give his hand an appreciative squeeze. 'If I have to suffer, you do too,’ he teased, and felt victorious when a small laugh escaped your lips. 'I dunno, Jug. I- it’s - I’m just not sure I can handle it.’ You bit your lip, and Jughead caught Veronica’s questioningly glance. He’d explain later - right now, he needed to get you to attend the football match.

'Betty, tell her she has to come,’ he told his girlfriend in a faux-whiney voice. Betty smiled sympathetically at you. 'She doesn’t have to if she doesn’t want to,’ of course she’d side with you. She was too caring to force you into having to spend two hours watching your ex from the bleachers. Jughead cursed silently. He turned to Veronica, a pleading look on his face.

'I think you should come,’ she told you firmly, 'Show that jerk that he’s not going to stop you from living your best life with your best friends!’ She squeezed your elbow gently. You weren’t convinced. Jughead knew by your expression. You stood your ground all the way through break, and then Jughead lost his opportunity to keep insisting as you had separate classes for the rest of the day. He managed to grab you for a few seconds after final bell.

'I’ll be picking you up at six,’ he said, and ran off before you could say anything. Sure enough, at six o'clock that evening, he was on your doorstep. Your dad opened the door, smiling warmly at him.

'Hey, Mr. (Y/L/N). Is (Y/N) here?’
'No, I’m afraid not, Jughead. She’s gone to the library to study.’

Jughead officially went into panic mode. The match was due to start in an hour - Reggie had no idea he had failed to complete his part of the plan. He drove like a crazed man to the field, getting Moose to pass on a message when he entered the changing room.

Reggie stormed out, face screwed up angrily. 'What do you mean she isn’t coming?’ He demanded, face hot and flushed. 'She’s gone to the library, what am I supposed to do, physically drag her out?’ Reggie considered it for a split second - then came to his senses. 'Go talk to her,’ he begged the smaller boy. 'Please. Just don’t tell her what I have planned.’

Jughead knew it was probably a lost cause. But the look of fear on Reggie’s face at the thought of losing you forever made it impossible to deny him. He agreed, and drove across town to the local library, seeking you out. His nerves were shot, as he whispered your name walking through the many shelves of books. You were nowhere to be seen. He called you - straight to voicemail. Text messages went unseen and as the clock ticked on and crept closer to seven, Jughead wondered if he should just give up now. The thought of having to face Reggie and tell him again she wasn’t coming, for definite this time, twisted his insides into an uncomfortable knot. He decided to go to Pops, and return to the game when it had already started. He actually felt sorry for Reggie - he’d seen how much of a mess he was since you had ended things. For once, Jughead got to see the man you knew, the caring and sensitive side to someone Jughead had always thought was just a meathead jock.

**
Pop’s was quiet, most people attending the Bulldog match against Liberty High, a long-time nemesis of the school. He leaned against the counter, drumming his fingers across the cool top, eyes shifting to note the time. Eleven minutes past seven. The game had begun. Without (Y/N).

He noticed something in the corner of his eye - a blur of movement. Relief floored him as he saw you, sunk low into your seat, hood pulled over your forehead, sitting in a booth at the bottom of the restaurant. You had seen him enter, and had panicked. When you realised you were spotted, your shoulders slumped in defeat. Jughead sprinted to you, demanding to know why you had lied to your dad.

'Because I knew whatever he said, you’d go looking,’ you explained in a voice that said, isn’t in obvious? Grinding his teeth together, Jughead opened his mouth, but you cut him off quickly. 'I am not going to that damn match, Jughead.’ Your voice was flat, tough as a brick wall. He relented, pulling the half-drank milkshake across to take a sip. Sitting opposite you, Pop himself came down to take his order - his usual, and nothing for you.
A brainwave hit like lightening. He took out his phone and texted Betty.

to; Betty
go down to reggie at half time & tell him to go ahead with the plan

Seconds later, the screen lit up with a response.

from; Betty
what plan??

to; Betty
just tell him that, and video call me when he gets up on the stage

After a moment, he tapped out another text.

to; Betty
i’ll explain later i promise x

from; Betty
okay x

He smiled - then wiped it off his face when he realised you were staring at him, suspicion rife across your features. Pop placed a burger in front of him, and left you a fresh milkshake - 'on the house’ - which you accepted gratefully. You both sat silently. Which wasn’t anything new - oftentimes you both went to Pop’s and sat without speaking, you working on homework or a new entry to your journal, Jughead tapping away at his laptop as he wrote up his novel.

Jughead ate slowly, every so often looking to the clock on the wall, counting down the minutes. You didn’t notice, finding the contents of your milkshake too interesting to lift your eyes from the bottom of the glass. Finally, Jughead’s phone buzzed again. Betty’s smiling face filled the screen; he took a moment to just appreciate his girlfriend and then answered. She came into view, the camera quality a little off, the sounds of the roaring crowd filtering through the mic.

'Hey!’ She spoke loudly, and Jughead asked her to turn the phone towards the stage. Reggie was already standing up by the mic on the stage. In the background, Ronnie was pestering Betty with questions about what he was doing. 'What’s going on, Jug?’ The blonde asked, exasperated, the camera switching back to her face. 'Just go closer to the stage,’ he urged, and handed the phone to you.

You took it, questioningly. Jughead just nodded, and you frowned as you realised what you were looking at.

'Jughead, what is this?’

'Just watch.’

You knew you wouldn’t get any information from him, you resigned yourself to seeing what would unfold. Reggie was adjusting the mic to his height, covered in sweat and mud and looking far too good for someone so dirty. 'Hello, everybody!’ His voice boomed through the field, crackling over the line. Pop heard it, and sent an inquisitive look their way.

'I hope you’re all having fun tonight!’ The crowd responded with loud cheers, and you resisted the urge to turn the volume down. 'As many of you know,’ the football captain continued, 'I have been dating (Y/N) (Y/L/N) for a few months now.’

Your heart leapt to your throat. What was he doing?

'Well, last weekend, she ended things,’ now there were boos, and you felt shamed and embarrassed. 'But she was right to,’ this time, silence met his announcement. 'I have been an absolute jerk towards many students in this school. I think I just got so used to it, and it became a habit. But that is no excuse. I wanted to take this moment to apologise profusely to anyone I have ever harassed or belittled, or just been an ass to. I especially want to say I’m sorry to Jughead Jones. Now, he isn’t here tonight, neither is (Y/N), and I don’t blame her for not showing up. But, if things have gone right, she is watching this from somewhere right now. I hope she is. (Y/N), I am so in love with you, and the past five days have been hell without you. You have shown me that I don’t need to be a jerk to feel better about myself. Every day with you is all I need to be happy. I know I have a long way to go, and a lot of things to make up for. But I promise you, if you give me the chance, I will never let you down again.’

Pop had wandered over towards your booth somewhere in the middle of Reggie’s heartfelt speech. You were in a state of shock. Betty had turned the phone back to her and you passed it over to Jughead. He spoke to his girl but you felt deaf to whatever they were saying. Frozen to your seat, a hand on your shoulder drew you back to reality. Pop stared down at you, smiling knowingly. 'Go and get him,’ he told you in his deep voice. You met Jughead’s eyes. He was smiling.

'You knew about this.’ It wasn’t a question.

'Yep.’ He popped the p at the end of the word; you giggled, still in shock. 'Shall we go?’ He asked, standing up and offering you a hand. After a seconds hesitation, you took it.

**

The game was coming to an end when Jughead pulled in. You got out of the car, nervous, excited. The two of you stood at the side of the bleachers, watching as the final whistle blew, and the Bulldogs were declared the winners. Jughead could only roll his eyes as Moose, Reggie, and Archie all collided in an aggressive victory hug. Smashing off each other and whooping. Jughead pushed you forward. The nerves drowned out of everything else; you felt rooted to the spot. Reggie suddenly looked around - searching for you. In the shadows, you watched his face fall, all happiness draining out of his body as disappointment washed over. That was all you needed to make your feet move.

He almost missed you walking to him. It was only when you stopped right in front of him, and he kept walking, blinded by his thoughts, that he saw you. He gripped your shoulders automatically as he almost knocked you over, lifting his eyes from the muddy grass to apologise. He paused - you were there. You were with him. All words deserted him. He could stand there, his hands feeling your solid warmth. You were here.

'I can’t believe you did that,’ you told him, a smile playing on the edge of your lips. You were looking at him so softly, so … so lovingly, it almost broke his heart again. 'I meant every word,’ he promised, holding you tighter, afraid you would slip from his grasp should he let go. You nodded, and stepped closer, your bodies pressed together. His breath hitched.

'I know.’

It was only a whisper, but it felt like a scream to him. He dragged you in, lifting you up and spinning you around in a vice grip of a hug, his face buried in the crook of your neck.

'I am never letting go of you again,’ he mumbled against the skin. You felt mud smearing across your skin, but in that moment, you didn’t care. You pulled back, and saw panic flashing in his features as he thought you were trying to get away.

Then, you rested your hand against his cheek, hot, slick with sweat. Your eyes flickered to his lips briefly. 'Reggie?’
'Yeah?’

The words were so quiet you could both barely hear them, only that you were so close together that your breath mingled with his.

'Kiss me.’

Reggie didn’t need to be told twice. He slotted his lips against yours, kissing you once, twice, furthering the third one by angling your head to the side by curling his fingers through your hair. You were vaguely aware of the River Vixens and the rest of the bulldogs cheering you on. But all you could feel, taste, smell, was Reggie. He surrounded you completely, as you did him. When you broke apart for air, your foreheads touched.

'I love you, (Y/N).’

'I love you, Reggie.’

Jughead Jones x reader where he is completely smitten by a River Vixen who has the tendency to sit all alone at Pop’s.
~~~
Betty and Veronica sat in their usual booth at Pop’s, discussing the events that had happened that week. Betty and Veronica had just become friends again, being closer now more than ever after the whole Chuck incident.
Veronica straightened up as both Archie and another boy walked into the diner. She recognized him from the student lounge the other day, when Reggie had tried to pin Jason’s murder on him, but she couldn’t quite pair a name to his face.
Betty noticed that Veronica’s attention was no longer on her and turned, mustering a small smile at Archie and Jughead before asking if they wanted to join. Jughead stared at them before smirking. “Yes. But only if you’re treating,” he said, jumping over the booth and sitting next to Veronica as Archie slid in next to Betty.
“Jughead Jones. The third,” he introduced himself.
“Veronica Lodge,” the raven-haired girl replied.
And it was in that moment when everything seemed to be back to normal.
~~~

The group of friends had been chatting for a while when Kevin Keller walked in. Veronica looked at him and waved, pouting when he didn’t acknowledge her and walked straight to a girl sitting all alone in a booth near the back.

“What’s wrong Ronnie?” Betty asked, noticing the girl’s frown.

“I thought you had introduced me to everybody already Betty,” Veronica said.

“I did,” the blonde girl replied.

“Then who…is that?” Veronica asked, pointing to the girl who was now chatting with Kevin. They were both smiling and laughing as they talked. “I was pretty sure he’s gay.”

Archie leaned forwards, “That, new girl, is (Y/N) (L/N). Riverdale’s Sweetheart.”

Veronica shot a shocked glance at her friends. “And here I was, thinking that Riverdale’s Sweetheart was our very own Betty Cooper.”

Betty laughed before speaking. “(Y/N) over there is not a total sweetheart. She can be a downright manipulative, sarcastic bitch, and she knows it. It’s the reason Cheryl likes her so much.” Betty’s tone was not mean, she was just stating a commonly known fact.

Veronica observed the girl. (H/L), (H/C) hair that gently swayed when she laughed, cuffed jeans, some sneakers, and an oversized sweater.

“Her?” Veronica asked, “A bitch? She’s the most adorable person I’ve ever seen!”

“And,” continued Betty, “She’s also been the object of Jughead’s affections since we were 5.”

Betty, Archie, and Veronica all turned to face Jughead, who remained stoic even though there was a bright red blush crawling up his neck and heating up his cheeks.

“It’s been 10 years,” Archie said, “And he still hasn’t confessed.”

“Well why don’t you?” Asked Veronica.

Jughead sighed before replying, “She’s a River Vixen guys. She’s friends with Cheryl and has Reggie chasing after her. I’m not gonna waste my time on a hopeless cause.”

And with those words, Jughead Jones the Third jumped over the booth they were sitting at, and left Pop’s.

~~~
(Y/N) had been sitting peacefully at her booth until her best friend joined her. She looked up to meet a familiar pair of brown eyes that belonged to the person who had just ripped her pen from her hand and snapped her journal shut.
“Kevin,” she greeted, “How nice to know that you got my invitation to come over and snatch my pen and join me as I eat these onion rings.”
Kevin gave her a sharp look before glancing at the booth where the rest of his friends were sitting. “I don’t want to alarm you (Y/N), but loverboy is currently looking over here.”
(Y/N) felt her cheeks flush at the mention of Jughead, whom she had liked since elementary. She casually glanced over Kevin’s shoulder and made eye contact…with Veronica Lodge. She gave a polite smile and looked back at Kevin
“When are you going to tell him you like him?” Kevin asked exasperatedly.
“Never Kev,” (Y/N) replied. “I am not going to make fool out of myself in front of Jughead.”
~~~

After talking for a little while more, (Y/N) decided that it was time to leave and gathered up her journal and said goodbye to Kevin. Betty, Veronica, and Archie immediately came and joined him, a mischievous look on Veronica’s face.

“Alright Kev,” she spoke, “Spill. Does your adorable little friend have feelings for Jughead or not?”

Kevin smirked. “I dunno. Maybe…maybe not.”

Betty rolled her eyes,“ Don’t torture the poor girl Kev. Everyone knows that (Y/N) is just as besotted with Jughead as he is with her.”

Veronica’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Perfect.”

~~~
“Where are you taking me Betty?” (Y/N) asked. “I promised Cheryl I would meet her to show her the new routine I came up with for Friday’s game.”
“I just really need your help (Y/N),” Betty replied.
(Y/N) followed Betty, who was holding onto her wrist, until they reached the news room. As they stepped inside, (Y/N) froze, realizing they were not alone as Jughead turned to them.
“I’m restarting the Blue and Gold,” Betty stated, “And I need both of your guy’s help.”
~~~

It took some time to convince both Jughead and (Y/N) to join the paper but in the end, Betty sent them to go talk to Dilton Doiley.

The whole time, both Jughead and (Y/N) couldn’t contain their nervousness, as they hadn’t had much contact since entering high school. Questioning Doiley turned out to be pointless, but (Y/N) did notice the uneasy scout that kept shooting glances at them as they talked to Doiley.

“Alright,” (Y/N) said, getting Jughead’s attention, “So Doiley was a flop. But, either that scout is checking you out, I mean who doesn’t, or he’s hiding something.”

Both Jughead and (Y/N) flushed, realizing that she had basically admitted to checking him out at one point or another.

Smirking, Jughead asked, “Are you included with those who check me out? Because I wouldn’t exactly mind.”

(Y/N) tried to reply, but became a stuttering mess.

“C'mon,” Jughead chuckled, “Let’s go question that scout.”

~~~
(Y/N) couldn’t concentrate. She knew she was supposed to be helping Jug interrogate the scout, but she couldn’t help but admire the way he so casually took the scout’s dessert and began eating it. She only realized that she had been staring when Jughead got up and began to walk away, grabbing her hand and pulling her along with him.
“Let’s go,” he said, not letting go of her hand, “We’re meeting Betty in the news room.”
It took them ten minutes to get from Pop’s to the school. In those 10 minutes, Jughead couldn’t stop mentally thanking Betty as he stole glances at (Y/N) who was lost in thought as they walked.
Arriving at the news room, they carefully set down their stuff and proceeded to wait for Betty, a comfortable silence enveloping them. (Y/N) suddenly realizing that she really had to pee, got up abruptly, muttering a small ‘I’ll be right back’ as she walked past Jughead. Not looking at where she was going, the young girl suddenly tripped and went flying. At least, she would have if Jughead had not been quick enough to catch her.
She look up into his eyes. Big mistake. They stayed there, frozen, his arms around her waist as her hands were flat against his chest. Then, as if they were two magnets being drawn together, they began to lean in, slowly getting closer and closer until finally, their lips met.
The kiss was a soft one. Hesitant and just the slightest bit awkward, but neither (Y/N) nor Jughead would’ve had it any other way.
“I guess this is the time to say that I like you,” Jughead muttered as they pulled away. (Y/N) chuckled.
“I’ve like you since we were 7 and you helped me when I fell off the swings Jug,” the girl quietly replied.
“I’ve liked you since we were five and you told me you liked my hat,” Jughead said, looking down.
The two teenagers sprung apart as the door slammed open and Kevin and Veronica barged in, dancing. Betty and Archie soon followed.
“Our plan worked!” Exclaimed the raven haired girl and the brunette boy.
“What plan?” Asked (Y/N).
“You see dear,” Kevin started, “We couldn’t take you and Jughead shooting longing glances at each other from afar anymore.”
“So we convinced Betty to get you two to join the paper and work together, hoping that you would admit your feelings if you had to work together,” Veronica continued.
“And it worked,” chimed Betty.
(Y/N) and Jughead exchanged glances before looking at their friends, who were too busy celebrating to say anything else.
“Pop’s?” Jughead asked.
“Pop’s,” (Y/N) confirmed as they linked hand and walked off.
After ten years of hopeful wishing, Jughead Jones had finally gotten his girl.
~~~~~~~~~~

This my first ever fic written here on tumblr and also, this is a new Riverdale blog. I hope it’s good enough for Jughead. :)

I don’t have enough energy or motivation to actually sit and flesh this story out, but its been stuck in my head for ages and like… just imagine Kara deciding to shed her identity as Kara Danvers in order to focus on being Supergirl (because of an accident, or she was too busy with personal life to make it in time to save someone, etc), and Lena Luthor investigates because “what the hell is with all these inconsistencies on her death? first an allergy, then a car crash, and now she’s been lost at sea? wtf is going on??”

But srsly, just imagine:

  • “What do you mean you want to kill yourself?” Alex asks, face twisted in bewilderment. “Jesus!” she exclaims, burying her face in her hands. “They don’t make Prozac strong enough for Kryptonian metabolisms!” And it takes awhile, but Kara is eventually able to calm her down (and has to steal her phone mid-way to keep her from calling their mom on her) and explain that she doesn’t actually want to kill herself, just the Kara Danvers side of her so that she can be Supergirl full time.
  • It takes a long time to convince Alex of her plan, and even longer to get J’onn’s approval, but a week later Kara Danvers no longer exists and Supergirl has full reign of crime-fighting in National City.
  • A few days later, Lena Luthor is browsing through the daily paper and is struck dumb by one of the names in the obituaries. “Kara Danvers, 25, cause of death: peanut allergy.” It suddenly makes sense why she hasn’t heard from the bubbly reporter in well over a week, but she’s also extremely confused because she swears she’s seen Kara devour a super-sized bag of trail mix and then ask for a PB&J to wash it all down.
  • (Ofc, Alex is positively pissed. “A peanut allergy?” she cries, throwing the paper down atop her sister’s new desk at the DEO. “What?” Kara asks, innocently. “Statistically, peanut allergies are the highest-…” “SAVE IT.”)
  • Lena rushes over to CatCo, demanding to speak with Kara’s former boss because it can’t possibly be true. Kara can’t really be dead. When she finally confronts the balding Carr, all he offers is a shrug and, “I dunno, I heard she fell off a cliff or something.” And Lena is just, “.. or something?? How does one fall off a cliff or something!?
  • She forces her way into James’s office, interrupting a meeting with one of his editors, but a single glare is all it takes to clear the room. “I’m sorry,” James apologizes, avoiding eye contact. “She went to visit her family in Midvale, and was hit by a drunk driver.”
  • Now Lena is confused, angry, and a little bit hurt. All she’s getting is the run-around, nothing adds up, and all she wants to know is if her friend is alive. She returns to her office, cancels all her meetings and work for the day, and drowns her sorrow in a bottle of scotch or two.
  • Later that night, she’s sprawled across the couch, nursing a headache and a full pitcher of water when she spots Supergirl fly by. Suddenly, she’s up and out the door of her balcony, because surely, if anyone were to know what had happened to Kara, it would be Supergirl! They were close, apparently, so why not?
  • Kara, who is leisurely patrolling the neighborhood, screeches to a halt mid-flight as a black stiletto flies past her. She turns just in time to watch as a half-drunk Lena Luthor stumbles, stripping off her second shoe before flinging it once more in her direction.
  • Baffled by the flying footwear, she gently goads Lena back into her office, nodding patiently along as the Luthor babbles so quickly, not even she can keep up. Eventually, she’s able to piece enough of it together, and her face goes red with shame. She knew she’d forgotten something!
  • Lena watches as Supergirl turns bashful, nothing like the strong, confident woman she’d come to admire. She isn’t sure if its the alcohol, but something feels strangely familiar with the way she fidgets, and though her vision has doubled, it’s like seeing Kara Danvers and Supergirl standing side-by-side.
  • Then it hits her, and Lena wants to cry. She interrupts Supergirl, who is in the middle of a tragic tale about Kara drowning at sea, and asks her to close her eyes. Kara, as expected, is confused, but chalks it up to the strange request of a drunk woman and obliges. Lena grabs her reading glasses off the desk and slips them onto Supergirl, and the resemblance is so uncanny, her suspicions can’t be anything but true.
  • The next thing Kara knows, she’s being smacked across the head with a flower vase. And then a book. And really, anything else a furious Lena Luthor can get her hands on. It doesn’t hurt. She hardly feels it. But the tears brimming in Lena’s eyes… well, those are downright painful, and she lets the woman vent her frustrations as she yells, and scolds, and screams about how she thought she’d lost the only person she cared for in National City - perhaps in all the world.
  • Eventually, she stops being angry, and all she can do is fling herself into Kara’s arms and squeeze her with all the strength she has. Kara holds her, letting her cry, apologizing profusely between her every hiccup and sob.
  • “I wanted to tell you,” she promises, “Really, I did. You’re one of my best friends, and I care about you too much to put that burden on you. Not when you’re already a big enough target for your name, and I just.. I’m just not strong enough…” “To protect me?” “No, to lose you..” And Lena half-sobs, half-laughs, “And you think I am?” “Lena,s you’re the strongest person I know.”
  • Then Kara explains how she wanted to devote her full time to being Supergirl because the world needs her more, and Lena tells her, “you can’t save everyone, and you need to live a balanced life. that means Kara Danvers AND Supergirl, together.” Because Kara is totally whipped, she lets Lena convince her to rethink her decision, and makes up a story for Kara Danvers to come back.
  • Ofc, she can’t go back to CatCo though, because that’d be really weird with everyone thinking she was dead (they had a memorial!). Lena takes her on at L-Corp as a PR agent, where she can keep a better eye on her and make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid like this ever again

The Kitchens

part ii

There wasn’t a time Sirius loved more than the beginning of summer. The promise of days and days of sun ahead of him. And, perhaps more so, the fact that those days were free of lessons and completely his—for the most part—to do with whatever he pleased. And there was also the parties. Sirius hated his family, that was true, but he couldn’t say he minded the connections, the money.

He laughed to himself. James would have smacked him right about now.

He had called for some food and blankets to be laid out by the swimming hole just off to the left of the castle for him and Regulus, only Regulus had yet to show. Sirius had spent the first hour waiting, but now floating lazily on his back. Regulus was making a habit of ditching Sirius lately. He wished he could call his younger brother pompous and call it a day but the hurt prickled inside of him like an unreachable itch. Sirius sighed, kicking out into the middle of the water. At least the sun hadn’t disappointed.

He’d asked James to come—he probably would have had loads more fun that way— but it was his day off. And Sirius knew, even as James sent him a guilty smile, that he didn’t stand a chance. Not when—what was her name again? Lily, Lily who worked as a housemaid, yes. Not when Lily was going to be at the pub in town. Sirius had waved him off. He didn’t want James to think he could, or ever would, make him stay. The truth was that James was his first and only friend. And Sirius was his employer. They were friends, of course, but work came first. Sirius was a prince first in James’ mind no matter how much he insisted against it. And he had insisted.

Apparently it was a prince’s job to swim and spend the summer alone. Of course, his mind did flash briefly to someone… but it was probably his day off too. Sirius would probably ruin it with some snide, accidental comment anyhow. His mother’s voice chided him in his head: Ghastly, Sirius, to be hanging about with that lot. Positively ghastly.

Sirius groaned, flipping into the water and kicking downward towards the muddy bottom.

~

The kitchen was burning. He’d been happy to have the room to himself, having finally convinced James and the others that he’d rather stay in—he really did want to try out the chocolate cake recipe Mrs. Potter had found for him even if James didn’t buy it—up until he’d gotten the ovens going. The coals felt like they were right on his neck. But he stayed, throwing all the windows open and mixing and cutting and whisking until it was a pleasant temperature with a cool breeze. The smell of summer and chocolate was a match made in heaven. He hummed to himself absentmindedly as he checked the recipe card, running his finger down the slightly heat smudged ink. As he stirred and checked, stirred and check, his mind went elsewhere, as it often did when he was baking.

Sirius hadn’t stayed long after Remus had found him the biscuits. He’d eaten one, and they’d sat there, next to each other, Remus trying to pretend he wasn’t staring, Sirius trying to pretend he wasn’t catching him.

A prince, Remus had told himself, Get out now, push it down, leave it be. Forget.

That had been Remus’ method for years. With the grocery boy in his home town, with the baker’s son in the village for a time being, even with James for brief period when he’d first got here—he’d gotten over that one quickly.

He had tried to deny this one, but honestly, his breath had caught the second Sirius crouched down next to him by the fire. That was not what he had been expecting. He wasn’t saying Sirius was perfect. He was clearly not a man of both worlds. He was slightly obnoxious, slightly oblivious, slightly pompous, and, possibly, slightly attractive. Note the slightly. But he was kind. Remus saw it in the smiles that slipped through. He was born into the obnoxious, oblivious, pompousness, but the kindness was his own. Remus had overheard his mother—the queen—giving Mrs. Potter instructions for a banquet before. Yes, the kindness was all Sirius. Remus’ stirring had slowed into a lazy motion that he was no longer conscious of. He frowned out the window. And Sirius would catch himself. Repeatedly. He watched him realize what he had said and look sorry for it. Comments like that were burned into him but he was slowly realizing. Maybe he had James to thank for that, but Remus had a sneaking suspicion it was Sirius’ realization as well.

“Always alone.”

Remus whipped his head around, only just managing to keep his bowl on the table, and let out a breathless laugh. He was met with a smiling, rather wet Sirius.

“That’s the third time. I’m starting to think you like doing that.”

Sirius walked in, his shirt sticking in patches to his damp skin. Remus swallowed, dragging his eyes back to Sirius’ face, “Can I get you anything?”

Sirius heaved himself onto a stool across from Remus, eyeing his bowl, “No, I don’t think so… Thought everyone would be at the pub. I just… didn’t want to go upstairs.”

Remus started whisking again, adding a few sifts of flour to thicken the chocolate paste, “No?”

“My mum’s planning a party. First of the summer’s, it’s-”

“Summer’s Eve.” Remus finished, shooting Sirius a smile.

Sirius set him a lopsided grin, “Right. Right, you’d know about that…”

“Always liked watching the dancing.”

Sirius worried his lip, eyebrows pulling together, “Yeah?”

“‘Course.”

Sirius picked up an egg, holding it between his palms, “How long have you been here?”

Remus leveled off some sugar, crushing some clumps with his fingers, “I think its about a year now.”

Remus looked over the measuring cup when Sirius simply hummed, only to find him staring back at him.

“Funny, that we’ve never met.” Sirius said after a moment.

Remus raised an eyebrow, dumping the sugar in, “Not really.”

Sirius huffed out a laugh, “Yeah. Yeah, not really..”

Remus looked away from Sirius’ smile, swallowing over the heat bubbling in his chest. He was suddenly very aware at just how filthy his apron was. Not to mention his shirt. He glanced quietly at the hole in his left shoe toe.

“Why aren’t in town, anyway? I figured everyone would be at the pub. This place is deserted. Well, except for you.”

Remus cut a slab of soft butter, smoothing it around the bottom of the pan with his knife, and tried to shrug as casually as he could, “Dunno. Don’t like the pub much.”

“Why? Everyone likes the pub.”

Remus raised an eyebrow, “How would you know?”

Sirius straightened, eyeing Remus, “Everyone seems to like the pub. Or really, I guess everyone just seems to like the girls there.”

Remus laughed, “True.”

Remus saw Sirius lean forward on his elbows in his peripheral vision, “Don’t you like a girl there? Or here? Someone to go with.”

Remus felt the familiar discomfort at this question rising in his stomach, “No,” he cleared his throat, crumpling some parchment paper in his fist, “No, not particularly.”

“No?” He heard something, something in Sirius’ voice. He couldn’t tell what it was, but he feared the worst.

“Not at the moment, I mean. I’m sure I’ll- I’m sure there’s someone. Just- I’m just waiting for- that someone.” He sounded idiotic and he knew it.

“Oh. Of course. That must be nice.”

Remus raised an eyebrow, “Being alone?”

Sirius looked up at him from where his gaze had been focused on the egg he was holding. His eyes were sad and honest, “Being able to choose.”

Remus opened his mouth, then closed it, then opened it again. “Oh.”

Remus threw everything he had into squashing the feeling that was rising in his chest. Of course. He’s a prince. You know your place and it isn’t with… It can never be with-

Sirius shook his head a little, pushing his wet hair off his forehead so it stick up in the front. He offered Remus a small smile, “You must be just loving this. Listening to me complain. You probably think I have the whole world and yet here I am..”

Remus scoffed, snapping out of it and pouring the batter into the pan over the parchment paper, “That’s an awfully big assumption.”

Sirius sighed, rolling the egg on the table, eyes following it as it changed directions on its own, “Yes. You’re right.”

He was much more willing to admit Remus was right today.

Remus turned back around from pushing the cake into the oven, dusting flour off his hands, “Do you even know how to cook that?”

“Nope.”

Remus smiled, “That’s pathetic.”

Sirius jolted up at that, “I beg your-“

“Sorry.” Remus was still smiling.

Sirius’ eyes were narrowed but Remus could see the smile that was threatening to show itself.

“Can you do the Summer’s Waltz?”

Remus blinked, “What?”

Sirius raised an eyebrow, “Can you?”

“Well, no-“

“Exactly.”

Remus stared at him for a few moments, “I’m lost.”

“I’ve no reason to know how to cook an egg, so I can’t. You can. You’ve no reason to know the Summer’s Waltz, so you can’t. But I do, so I can.”

Remus rolled his eyes, “Yes, alright, very clever.”

Sirius smiled. Remus turned to the oven with one of his own. The flames seemed less bright that that smile.

Get out now, push it down, leave it be.

Remus took a deep breath. Forget.

“Am… Am I bothering you?”

Remus turned to Sirius once more, rather too quickly, “Hm? What?”

Sirius actually looked a little sheepish, “It’s just… I realized I just sort of… came in. You were alone. I don’t know-“

“No.” Again, too quickly, “No,” Remus cleared his throat, “You’re fine. I mean- I mean to say you- I mean, of course you can be here. You’re you.”

Sirius’ brows pulled together, corners of his mouth turning down, “That’s not what I meant.”

Remus took a shaky breath. Of course you’re fine, I want you here, “I know. Sorry. I don’t mind you being here. I’m just testing recipes…”

Sirius seemed to relax a little and got up, spying the recipe card on the table, “But you bake every other day of the week…”

Remus was very aware that Sirius was right next to him, and very aware that he hadn’t bathed that morning, “Well… I like chocolate.”

Sirius looked at him.

Remus motioned to the oven, “I never get to bake for myself. I like chocolate, I made chocolate cake.”

Sirius was quiet, just nodding and looking so intently at Remus that he felt his cheeks start to heat.

“It will be ready soon… If you-“

“Yes.”

Remus almost laughed at the quick response, “Alright…”

The lapsed into a silence. Remus alternating between watching the cake and watching Sirius, and Sirius alternating between rolling the egg and watching Remus.

Remus poked fun at Sirius when he watched in (almost) awe as he took the cake from the oven, and nearly hit him when he recounted how different it looked without all the dressings and plates.

“Absolutely ridiculous…” Remus muttered under his breath.

“Can we…”

Remus looked up when Sirius trailed off. Sirius’ hair was dry now and slightly fluffy around his ears from the heat, and with the way his cheeks were heating up Remus took a step back. Because he didn’t look royal right then, in his fluffy hair and bare feet. He looked normal. He looked attainable.

No one you look at is attainable.

“Can we..?” Remus prompted.

Sirius straightened, “Can we eat it like this?”

Remus blinked and his mouth slowly formed a smile, “Had too much of proper life, have you?”

Sirius shot him a look and Remus sat down and dug his fingers into the cake, taking a rather large chunk out of the side. Sirius grinned almost impishly and pulled a stool over next to Remus, taking a chunk from the other side.

“My god.” He said, “This is fucking brilliant.”

“The eating method or the cake?” Remus said through cake.

“Both.” Sirius sighed, “Can’t remember liking dessert this much in a long time.”

“Excuse you!” It came out sounding more like hue hu! and Remus swallowed, “I make that dessert.”

Sirius held his hands up in mock surrender, “I think it’s good and all, don’t get me wrong. I’ve just… I don’t know.” He was quiet for a moment and then, “Maybe the company makes the meal.”

Remus started, blinking at Sirius. He had chocolate on his upper lip, his hair was still fluffy, his cheeks were even more pink than before. And Remus could feel the tug. The familiar, forbidden tug.

“I-“ He was out of his seat before he knew what he was doing, chair screeching back against the slate floor painfully, “Um.”

Sirius stood too, “Remus..“

Remus couldn’t decide if it was a plea or a question. He wanted to stay. God, Sirius had only said his name and he wanted to staystaystay.

“You can have the rest of the cake. I’ve just remembered-” His mind drew a blank to any excuse he could have made.

And he was gone, leaving Sirius alone in the kitchen with half a cake and a frown.

Hartwin, ass grab

“And…cheers to the new term!”

Eggsy grins at his mates. Jamal and Ryan didn’t end up following him to uni, but they’d managed to keep in touch, cheering Eggsy on and even postponing their nights out in order for Eggsy to buckle down and ace his exams without so much as as a groan. In return, Eggsy paid for their drinks—thanks to work study, his shifts at the tutoring center, and the full gymnastics and academic scholarship, he had a little extra for his own—and brought along Roxy, who could kick their arses at Cards Against Humanity and drink them under the table.

Now, Roxy’s tapping her glass against his. “To our last term!” she cheers, relief slumping her shoulders, though Eggsy knows she’s got internships and fucking law school lined up after this. He himself hopes to land something that pays decently, especially if he doesn’t get any aid to go to a proper graduate program, and he really, really needs it. While Roxy had been drawn to throwing hardened criminals in the slammer, he’d been drawn to the foster system, already planning his thesis on the economic and social barriers that involved academically-correct words for officials with silver spoons stuck up their arses.

But to even get there, he needed good grades—which should work out—and exam scores and letters of recommendation. He’d lined up his options with two other professors, scrapping even the idea of asking Dr. King for one and entertaining the idea for Dr. Hart. He was going to be in two of his classes this semester, and Dr. Hart seemed strict but fair and sympathetic to what Charlie—who seemed to think he was going to land a position in the House of Lords easily enough—disdainfully called the downtrodden. “Supports every bleeding heart cause out there,” Charlie had sneered when he’d spotted Eggsy looking through options for his next term. “Sob stories about single mothers from the estates and drunken deadbeat dads and chavs snorting every drug they can lay their hands on…yeah, he eats them up.”

So, yeah, maybe Dr. Hart would be less of a snob than his other professors, but Eggsy hopes he can prove his worth instead of being another statistic for someone to sigh over. But now, he laughs with his mates, trading stories and knocking back a few pints, filling up with chips so he doesn’t get too sloshed, since he’s got classes in a few days.

“…And I haven’t fucked in, like, five months,” Jamal’s groaning. “Fucking job at the fire station, love it and all, but it’s been a fucking dry spell.”

“Not a dry spell for me,” Ryan declares, and when everyone turns to him, Jamal leaning forward hopefully, he shakes his head. “A fucking drought. Try getting it on in the storeroom at Asda with those bright green shirts and smells of some fucking idiot spewing his lunch and missing the bin.”

Putting down your pen, you release and frustrated sigh. You had to write a 5 paged essay about World War 2 for your World History class that was due at the end of the week (granted that your professor gave you nearly 3 weeks to work on it). You look down at your paper and read over what you had wrote down.

World History

The Second World War

That was it. Your mind went completely blank after that. You looked over your notes once. Then twice. Now nearly six times and still nothing. You tried reading the articles your professor suggested but to no avail.

You pick up your pen again, tapping it on your desk before dropping it and throwing your head back, not forgetting to let out a loud groan. You couldn’t put this aside any longer - you’ve already done that for two weeks.

“What the fuck am I supposed to do?” you mutter into your hands. You didn’t want to look at that god awful paper again. Then, an idea hit you. “Friday, where’s Bucky - or Steve?”

“Mr. Barnes and Mr. Rogers are in the living room.”

“Thanks.”

You stand up, taking your pen and notebook with you as you rush down the hall. Nearly slipping twice, you make it to the living room and spot the two men sitting on the couch while watching some movie.

You tuck your hair behind your ear and walk around the couch, waving your hand to catch their attention. “Hey guys.”

“Hey Y/N.” Bucky spoke first, throwing a handful of popcorn in his mouth.

“We just started watching this.. Kids cartoon, I think. It’s called Sausage Party. You can join us if you want.” Steve added, glancing over at you.

You laugh. “You’re in for a rude awakening, my friend.” he looks at you with confusion written all over him but you decide to move on. “Um.. I actually came here to ask for your help - or Bucky’s.”

At the mention of his name, he looks over at you.

“What is it?” Steve asked, turning his body towards you as you took a seat on the far end of the couch.

“I have this five paged essay to turn in at the end of the week about World War Two but I dunno I’m just having a hard time doing it.” you sigh. “I mean, I’ve gone over my notes so many times and I’ve read the articles but-”

“The articles are bullshit.” Bucky says. “They always have the wrong information.”

“Which is why I came to you guys for help.” you gesture to them. “Maybe you can put it in a way that I’ll understand? Since, you know, you guys were there and all.”

Steve makes a face. “Sure, I can help you.”

“It’s cool, Steve. I can help her.” Bucky sits up, body now turned towards you.

Steve turns to his friend. “No, it’s fine Buck. I’ve got this.”

“Steve, I can do this. I was there.” he smiled and you knew they were about to start arguing.

“Well so was I.”

“Yeah but,” Bucky scoffs. “I was there.”

Steve frowns, crossing his arms over his chest. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It mean that… Well..” Bucky pauses, trying to word it correctly but Steve interrupts.

“I was in that war, Bucky.” he spoke.

“Yeah but you weren’t there in the beginning, I was.”

Steve huffed. “It’s not my fault that I was a skinny man and no one..” his voice became background noise when Bucky sighed.

“Here we go again.” he rolled his eyes before preparing for the conversation. “No one said it was your fault, Steve.”

“Well obviously you are because-”

“Steve, don’t start.”

Steve pursed his lips like an immature child. “You don’t think I was a good enough soldier.”

“Oh god.” Bucky breathed, closing his eyes for a split second before looking at Steve. “I never said that.”

“You didn’t have to.” he huffed. “I only saved your life, nothing too major.” sarcasm laced his words and you had to slap a hand over your mouth to prevent you from laughing. You’ve never seen Steve get like this before and it was honestly hilarious.

“You wanna go there? Fine, let’s go there.” Bucky sat on the edge of his seat. “You let me fall of the damn train.”

Steve gasped. “I did not!”

“You did!”

“I tried to get you Bucky!”

“Well you didn’t try hard enough and because of that, I fell off the train, lost my arm and was captured by Hydra.” the soldier crossed his arms.

“Don’t blame this all on me!” Steve shouted.

Deciding that you should stop them from arguing, you interrupt.

“Hey uh, I really need help with that five paged essay. Really important.” you say, causing the two to become silent as they glare at one another.

“I’m helping Y/N.” Bucky spoke.

“No, I am.” Steve hissed.

“You weren’t even there for the first part of it, how could you-”

“Oh, I’m sorry that I was too damn skinny to be enlisted, Bucky!”

“Don’t go there!”

“You already did!”

“You think you’re Mr. Perfect? You didn’t even bother looking for me after I fell!” Bucky argued.

“I thought you were dead!”

He scoffed. “Well clearly I’m not.” he gestures to himself.

“Bucky, I’ll help Y/N because unlike you, I was there till the end.” he smiled sweetly.

“You little shit-”

They start bickering back and forth and finally realizing that you would get help from neither of them, you up and leave the living room, bumping into Tony and Sam along the way.

“What are the old men arguing about?” Tony questioned.

You wave your hand. “Something about Steve leaving his condom wrappers out in the open.”

Tony looks at Sam. “I told you Rogers was getting laid!”

Sam rolls his eyes and they continue on their way towards the elevator. You make it to your room and you’re about to shut the door when you hear Bucky’s voice.

“Where’s Y/N?”

There was a pause.

“See, I told you, you were gonna scare her off!”

Me? More like you scared her off!”

“Don’t turn this on me, Bucky! If you-”

And you shut the door.

A/N: I didn’t know how to end this so ye. I hope ya guys like it, it was pretty fun to write. Tell me what at think :)

Summary: At a party, Phil suggests an experiment to test if he and Dan really are 100 percent platonic. What, after all, would happen if they kissed?

A/N: Sequel “The Morning After" here

**

“Phil!” Dan dragged the word into two syllables, calling into the expanses of their flat. He was in the process of shimmying into a pair of trousers, his newly straightened fringe threatening dishevelment from the exertion. It wasn’t like Dan was all that large  –  despite his severe allergy to the gym  –  but it seemed that suspiciously purchased foreign jeans always came two sizes smaller than marketed.  Dan let out a triumphant “Ha!” as he finally fastened the top button and pulled the zip. Then, he slumped back onto his comforter and took a deep breath.

“PHIL!” he shouted again, on the exhale, “Have you seen my shirt?”

“Can you be more specific!” Phil’s voice echoed in return.

“The black one! With the things!”

Daddy’s Little Delinquent

Taking in a teenage girl wasn’t ever something he’d expected. Let alone one that was on the road to jail time, who’s mother did drugs, and therefor overdosed. Feeling his phone vibrate, he pulled it out and saw a text from Dean.

Is daddy’s little delinquent staying for dinner? What does she like?

Reading that, it really hit him. Life was about to get much more difficult for John Winchester. “Fuck.” He muttered.

You flexed your hands and turned your wrists when the cuffs were finally taken off you. John arranged to take you to pack some things that weekend. You’d yet to speak to either John or Dean.

Dean couldn’t stop looking over to you, trying to see any family resemblance. There might have been a faint one, but he couldn’t tell. Not with your piercings and makeup. John was in the other room, on the phone with Sam, asking him to come over. He didn’t tell him why, just that it was important.

Walking back into the living room, he sighed. “Sammy will be here soon.” He sat down on the couch, running his hand through his short hair. Finally, his brown eyes looked over at you. “So.” He started, not sure how to go about this whole thing. “Sorry about your mom.” John told you, his voice low.

Shrugging, you picked at the shredding on your jeans, never looking over. Dean looked between you two and decided to speak up. “How’s it feel knowing your dad’s a cop?” He couldn’t help but smirk at the irony.

You looked over at him. “Are you asking if I’d have ‘cleaned up my act’ if I knew?” The attitude you gave him made it clear you didn’t like this one bit.

“I dunno. Just askin’.” Dean shrugged. “I don’t even know what you’ve done.” He pointed out. “All I heard was you had a record.” That could have meant just about anything.

John took a swig of his beer and sat back, his arm on the back of the couch. “So, what’s on this record of yours?” He asked. When you didn’t say anything, he sighed. “I’m a cop, sweetheart. Either you can tell me, or I can look for myself when I go to work.”
