The new Maybelline Dream Velvet finish foundation Review.

I recently bought the Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation in the shade of sandy beige 60.

Its suppose to be hydrating plus a soft matte finish.

I wanted to test out if this foundation can be up for the challenge of coverage, long lasting and hydrating throughout my day.

So I posted photos of my problematic areas above.

(I don’t have the best skin so please don’t make fun)

My first application looked very light at first, but within an hour or so, it settled into my skin color.

I used a beauty blender for this application and I built the product for coverage and so far so good.

It definitely gave the soft velvety matte finish.

As for hydrating, it just left me dry.

(although my skin during the winter time, around my mouth is very dry.)

I took several photos after applying setting powder and blush including the rest of my make up routine.

I would say around my mouth the foundation faded after 4 hours later..

But the rest of my face stayed.

I feel its because since I have very dry skin around my mouth area, its not the foundation that caused it.

I definitely recommend this foundation if you are looking for a soft, velvety matte finish.  It did not keep me hydrated although I love the coverage.

The down part to this foundation I would say its very limited to the shade choices.

I was very lucky they had my color.

Also if you are a fan of Tarte foundations, this would be the dupe, also the Rimmel stay matte is very similar to the consistency of this product.

Foundation: Hard Candy Glamoflage
How many times I’ve worn it: 3 times & each time I wore primer and I powdered. ♡It didn’t dry me out or look cakey & and it has decent buildable coverage but it has a slight weird sent. ☆The first time I wore it it was for over 8 hours. It faded aroynd my nose quickly. That is a problem area of mine though. It also looked a little dry and cracky on my forehead after about 6 hours. ★The second time I wore it was for about 4 or 5 hours. That was the night I went to see Mockingjay part 2. So afterwards it sort of creased under my eyes from crying and faded around my nose. ☆The third time the application of the day sucked it looked kind of patchy and big blob of setting spray rubbed some of it off. I wore it for over 8 hours again. And it once again it faded on my nose. ♥thoughts about this foundation♥ Overall this is a very nice foundation. It can get quite patchy. And normally the palest shade in a line is perfect for me but this one is even paler than I need. But it still works I feel it would be a good mixing foundation if the palest in lines are still too dark for you. I didn’t like how it fit in around my nose. But a lot of foundations do that for me. ☆ Would I wear it again?
Yes I would for a daily foundation I would but it does not replace My Holy Grail day-to-day foundation. And I would absolutely not wear it for a special occasion of any sort but yes i’d wear it again.

Drugstore Foundation Favourites

July 15, 2014

I recently switched to COVERGIRL liquid and powder foundation. I believe my previous foundation has been causing me to break out along with other factors. I’ve been through a number of different face products but these two products in particular have changed my life.

On the left is the COVERGIRL clean oil control pressed powder in 525 buff beige and on the right is the COVERGIRL outlast stay fabulous 3 in 1 foundation in 940 natural beige. Normally, I strongly dislike the feel of drugstore foundation on my face. Most times is becomes blotchy and does not last long at all. I have heard many good things about the 3 in 1 foundation and decided to try it out. I purchased the foundation for about 12 dollars and the powder on sale for about 5 dollars at Walmart.

I am absolutely obsessed and super excited about these two products! They both have a clean scent and give a flawless finish. The best part is that you barely feel like your wearing any makeup, and the cheap price of course! The foundation has an SPF of 20 and is a pump which is definitely a plus. It is said to last like a primer, cover like a concealer, blend like foundation and is shine free. I wore this foundation on a night out and my skin did not get oily, my breakouts were completely covered and I woke up with it still on. The powder is great to set the foundation and help control oil.

If your looking for a new face and do not want to pay the price of high end products, I strongly recommend these two!

🌟First Impression🌟 I tried out the CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation for the first time yesterday and I must say I’m quite impressed. The coverage is medium but can easily be built to full and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, which I like. The colour is perfect for me right now with a medium tan and it lasted all day without fading or breaking up in any areas. The only negatives I found were that the shade range for this foundation were extremely limited, it will really only appeal to medium-fair skin tones and even then there are not a lot of options for you. I also found this settled into my chin & forehead crease but only very slightly. Overall this is a great affordable foundation with its price point at only $16.95AUD so I do recommend giving it a try if you’re in the market for one & fit inside the shade range they offer! 😄❤️ #readysetgorgeous #review #firstimpression #affordablemakeup #foundation #drugstorefoundation #covergirl
