dropout beat

anonymous asked:

I can only imagine what the Academy is doing about their 3 missing cadets that just suddenly disappeared. The dealing with screaming mom's and military dads, PTA mom style "I know the head of blahlbalh I will report you for blahblahblah!!!"

Iverson has probably come to curse the family names of McClain, Garrett and Holt because their parents have caused him so much trouble, even from the beginning when they were still in the academy. Calling about their kids, asking if they’re okay, freaking out when Lance inevitably gets everyone in trouble, sending goodie packages, tearing Iverson a new one over mistakes and then apologizing for their outburst later…I mean, he gets that families are worried about their kids going out to a highly specialized military school so far from home and when they’re so young, but these three families take it to new heights.

They also become the bane of his existence after the cadets disappear. Mrs. Holt doesn’t even bother to talk to Iverson; she just goes straight to his superiors to find out what’s going on from them. Where the hell is her daughter (and she tries so hard not to think about that she has now lost all of her family) and what are they going to do about finding Katie? The Garretts and McClains pester Iverson to no end about where their sons are and Mama McClain swears she can tell he’s holding something back. Together with Mrs. Holt, they make it a huge nation-wide sensational story until pretty much everyone knows the smiling young faces of the three missing cadets from the Galaxy Garrison. Which leaves the government and the school in a bind, because how can they say that the missing Kerberos pilot, the one who supposedly ruined the Kerberos mission, came back to Earth saying that aliens were going to attack and then the three cadets plus a rookie dropout beat them and disappeared into the desert?

They can’t, and so the pressure just keeps building and building. Because hell hath no fury like parents who don’t know where their children are.
