dried orange peels

I made some dried orange peel today! It is very fragrant and 1 orange makes about 2 tbsp of orange peel.

I peeled an orange (make sure you get as much pulp off as possible), cut it into tiny pieces, preheat oven to 200 F, bake them on parchment paper for about an hour or until they are dry, or leave them out for 4-5 days. So easy to make and made from what you usually throw away!

🍊Orange Peel Correspondences: love, luck, money, house blessing, prosperity, joy

Planet: 🌞Sun

Element: 🔥Fire

Making dried orange peel!
These can be used for baths, hot teas or ciders, potpourri, or witchcraft! The process is extremely simple, and makes the entire house smell nice and fresh (which is also a good way to cleanse and banish negative energies in the home, as I’ve noticed). You can also do this with lemons, it’s the same process and the same usage!

The process:
-Get a large amount of healthy oranges with unblemished skin. Be sure to wash the oranges and scrub them lightly, because they are often coated with lots of germs and pesticides, which you REALLY don’t want on your dried product!

-Peel them however you wish, I find it easier to peel the entire orange in a giant coil shape, and then cut that coil to whatever sized pieces that I want my end result to be. Keep in mind that bigger pieces will be easier to strain out of whatever you use these in, so shaving them extremely tiny isn’t very convenient.

-Set your oven to it’s lowest setting, preferably around 200°. Place an aluminum foil sheet over a cookie tray, and generously arrange your peels on the foil. You don’t have to wait until the oven is completely heated, just stick them in there.

-The key is to expose them to low heat for a long period of time, which I’ve estimated to be about an hour and a half. Turning up the heat higher in an attempt to make the process faster will result in a few scorched pieces instead of lightly browned and crisped. You’ll know they’re ready when you can pinch one in the middle and it won’t give at all. Don’t be afraid to stir them around a bit so they all can get even amounts of heat exposure.

-While you’re waiting for them to finish, you can cut open the peeled oranges, and either juice them or slice them for eating!

Voila, now you know what to do with those orange rinds that people often throw away! 😊

Mood Boosting Orange Milk Bath 🍊

My mom is visiting me soon, and she’ll be here on her birthday, so I thought I’d make her something that all mothers need! Something relaxing, mood lifting, and positive with self care involved.

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid
  • ½ cup cornstarch (optional, as I didn’t have this today and didn’t use any)
  • ¼ dry milk (optional, if you don’t want your bath milky, you are free to leave this out)
  • 3 tablespoons of Epsom salts
  • a handful of dried & crushed orange peel
  • 1 teaspoon of water
  • 3 - 4 teaspoons of coconut oil (or any base oils you have at hand, such as almond oil)
  • 15 - 20 drops of orange essential oil

This made me 1 large, 1 medium, & 1 mini bath bomb. I didn’t have a ritual or chant, I simply had some of my mood boosting crystals & a plant companion to ensure I was putting only positive energy into making these🌿

To make dried & crushed orange peel:

Save the peel from an orange, being sure to remove all fruit from the skin. Lay out to dry, best if it is in the sun. This will take a few days, though I’m sure there are ways to dry in the oven, just be sure to research it before just popping them in to the oven and burning them to a crisp! Once the peels are completely dry, toss the peel into a blender and pulse the blender until the pieces are as small or large as you wish. Store in airtight container.I may make a full tutorial on this if requested, but it’s pretty straight forward.

Good luck, my witchy friends!

Blessed be,

~ Tea, Spells & Secrets🥀

🌿✨ Fairy Altar Tips! ✨🌿

hello loves! I wanted to make a short list of things to include in a springtime fairy altar. Spring has always made me feel drawn to their gentle magick, and i hope to obtain some of it in my own atmosphere. here are some simple things to include in your own fairy shrine:

♡ handfuls of soft grass (remember to say “thank you”)

♡ flat stones found around your neighborhood, either as they are or painted in pretty pastel colors

♡ small jars filled with fine glitter

♡ tiny crystals and tumble stones (rose quartz and tiger’s eye are lovely fairy-drawing choices, for example)

♡ a small mason jar or goblet of fresh water

♡ sticks you’ve found, either as they are or decorated with tied lace, pastel colored threads, acrylic paint, leaves, tied herbs, anything you’d see fit for a fairy wand ~

♡ tiny handwritten notes (write anything you wish)! anointed with flowery oils and placed under dried lemon/orange peels or in tiny jars

♡ fresh flowers of your choice (from the store or picked from nature - not somebody’s yard, unless you have permission)! ~

♡ rosemary, salt, lavender, and nutmeg in small pretty dishes or sprinkled around

♡ a little fairy/animal figurine (or a small photo of such)

happy spring! 🌦

forever sunkissed spell

Here is a little beauty spell to harness the energy of the sun and make yourself look radiant and sunkissed all the time! You will need:

☀ Water

☀ Citrine (optimism, warmth, radiance)

☀ Dried orange peel (beauty, sun energy)

☀ Rosemary (fire, sunlight, love, beauty)

☀ Orange, yellow or cream fabric and thread/ribbon

1. On the morning of a sunny day, drop your citrine in a little jar of water. Place it in a sunny place from sunrise to sunset, letting the energy of the sun steep into the water and warm it.

2. Take the water inside and look in a mirror. Remove any makeup you have on beforehand. Place some drops of the sun water in your hands, rub them together, and sweep your hands across your face, coating your skin in the sunlight energy. Visualize your skin sparkling and radiating.

3. Take the citrine out of the jar of water and place it in the center of your fabric square. sprinkle the dried orange peel in a circle around it, and then repeat with the rosemary.

4. Whisper into the citrine, “may the sunlight that shines down on me radiate through me.” Gather the corners fo the fabric and tie them closed with the ribbon.

5. Sleep with the sachet under your pillow for one night, then you may sprinkle the herbs in a sunny place the next day and carry the citrine with you. Anoint yourself with the sun water any time you need an extra kiss of beauty.

“Let’s build a home“ jar requested by Anonymous

Ingredients :

  • a little bottle/jar
  • wax
  • salt for purification
  • sugar for peace
  • sage for purification
  • dried basil for protection against evil and negative energies
  • dried mint for positivity and success
  • lavender for peace
  • cloves for protection and banishing of negative energies
  • dried orange/lemon peels for prosperity and happiness
  • a protective stone such as agate, obsidian, labradorite, jade, etc
  • clear quartz to enhance the energies

How to proceed:

  1. Take the time to light a candle, meditate if you wish to and focus on your intent: a happy and positive place to live in, safe. Visualize it cleary and with as many details as possible.
  2. Add the salt at the bottom of your jar, then all the other ingredients in layers. If you do not have all of them, try to have at least one of each category. With each ingredient, repeat your wish for a peaceful, happy and protected house.
  3. Finally, add the lid to your bottle and seal it with the wax (I used vanilla wax here), focusing on your intent one last time
  4. Add the ribbon if you wish.
  5. Place the jar/bottle in the main room of your house, hidden or in plain sight, as a decorative element!

Note: you can also do the same thing as a charm bag, using a green or golden fabric!

And of course, for any question, shoot me an ask!

Healing Spell for a Friend

My friend’s dog recently passed away and it’s left her absolutely heartbroken. Just today I went to a street fair where I intended to get a piece of Jasper for my friend because her dog’s name was Jasper, I found only a piece of Red Jasper and her dog was also red haired- which worked out perfectly! The coincidence inspired me to cast a spell on the stone so that it may bring her healing and warmth throughout her grieving process. Here is that spell (which can be altered to accommodate you and your available materials)

  1. Charge the stone in sunlight, under a small rainbow (created by a glass sun-catcher) for a few moments. Direct your loving energy into the stone
  2. Place it down on something soft while you prepare the loose incense
  3. On a charcoal disk, place dried lavender, chamomile, orange peel, and black salt. (My “orange” was actually a tangerine but any sweet citrus peel is fine)
  4. Underneath the charcoal disk, place white salt & dried rosemary on the sand or whatever material you use for proper and safe charcoal burning
  5. Light two candles on either side of the stone. A lavender for healing and a dark blue to represent grief. One of these flames will light the incense
  6. Light the charcoal disk and set the stone near it
  7. Circle the stone with a wand or your finger while reciting:
    “Healing stone, Warm [her] bones.
    Healing stone, Warm [her] bones.
    Healing stone, Warm [her] bones,
Though they part, Mend [her] heart.” Repeat as many times as you need
  8. Burn the incense for as long as you see fit
  9. Extinguish the blue candle and pass the stone through the smoke, symbolizing the inevitable grief this person is/will suffer
  10. Hold the stone over the flame of the lavender candle, gradually heating it
  11. Focus your intent into the stone to fill it with healing power
  12. When finished, stick it in a pouch. Tie strings in one knot, stating “so mote it be.” Now keep it safe until gifting it to your person!
Repelling Unwanted Romance

Dill, burned to ash: Lust (by burning, it symbolized repelling lust and sexual attraction)

Morning Glory, burned to ash: Banishing

Blue Cohosh, burned to ash: Love Breaking

1. Burn dried orange peel, dried dill, dried morning glory, and dried blue cohosh in a fire safe container.

2. Combine the ash with the black salt in a small bowl.

3. Add the mixture to a small corked bottle and carry around.

Dragon Prosperity Spell

The dragon is a fantastic beast that appears in almost every mythological tradition throughout the world. Often depicted as a mix of several different creatures, it represents the four elements of life: air, fire, water, and earth. The dragon has the wings of a bird and is covered with the scales of a fish or snake. It is capable of breathing fire, and usually guards a horde of treasure deep within the earth.

In pre-Christian Europe and the Far East, the dragon was seen a symbol of power, virility, and superhuman strength, and was considered to be a friend of mankind.

In magick, the dragon is wholly beneficent and is seen as the manifestation of life-giving celestial power, and has the attributes of both the sun and moon, masculine and feminine, good and evil sides of nature.

The dragon and serpent are usually interchangeable as representations of the unmanifest and the creation of form and matter.
The dragon represents the highest spiritual power, the supernatural, and the spirit of change. When you align your forces with those of the dragon, you gain strength and power. Its magick can help you overcome negative thoughts and it can teach you how to live abundantly.

Dragon Prosperity Spell

This spell is designed to create prosperity. It works best if you have a job and are looking for a pay raise or bonus.

Items needed: One large green pillar candle, dragon’s blood incense, incense burner and charcoal, dragon prosperity oil, a green silk pouch, five new coins (a penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and half-dollar), and an altar or small table.

Dragon’s Blood Incense Recipe

To make dragon’s blood incense,
mix ½ tsp. dragon’s blood resin with ½ tsp. allspice,
½ tsp myrrh resin,
½ tsp. dried orange peel,
½ tsp. sandalwood powder.

To the mixture add 3-drops cinnamon oil, and 3 drops orange spice oil.

Dragon’s Prosperity Oil

To make dragon prosperity oil, in a small bottle mix 5 drops cinnamon oil with 3 drops orange spice oil, and 2 drops sandalwood oil.

The first thing you will need to do is engrave the figure of a dragon on the candle. This can be easily done using awaters (the serpent), and the breath of life (the bird). Generally it is considered to be a ball point pen or small sculpting tool. The engraving does not have to be an elaborate work of art, just a simple outline will do.

Begin on the night of the new moon. Place the dragon candle on your altar with the incense burner in front of it. Place the coins on the left side of the candle and the silk pouch on the right side.

Light the green candle and charcoal. When the coal is glowing red, sprinkle some incense on it. Pick up the penny, hold it tightly, close your eyes and visualize the dragon in his cave. See his treasure and all the wealth he guards.

In your mind’s eye, slowly approach the dragon. Show the dragon your coin. Then, with great respect, ask the dragon to expand your wealth as you say:

O great dragon of wealth and power, I greet thee in this sacred hour. Great good fortune on me now shower. That my prosperity shall blossom and flower.

Stay with the dragon for a short time. Listen to what he says, and take heed of his advice. When the dragon begins to fade, leave his cave and return to the present. Place the penny in the green silk pouch. Thank the dragon by saying:

I thank thee great dragon of power and might For granting my wishes on this night.

Leave the candle to burn for four hours and then snuff it out. Repeat this spell every night until all of the coins have been placed in the green pouch. When the last coin has been placed in the pouch, allow the candle to completely burn out. The rite is then complete.

mrdetectivedouche  asked:

In a few months I'm going to be looking for a new job, are there any spells you can think of to help me land a good one?

Well, my usual measures for the actual search are here. I keep a blessed sachet of clover, violets, and dried orange peel with my resume, and I tuck it into my purse when I’m going for interviews. (I also recommend checking local temp agency websites, those can be a great place to start.)

I’ve also recently tried some candle magic for my own employment quest. It involved carving a pillar candle with one of the sigils I’ve created  which means “Get Job” and dressing it with Magnetic Me Attraction Oil (recipe in Grovedaughter Witchery, which also includes my standard attraction candle spell). It requires the closing of some loopholes, basically just saying, “I’m looking to attract a job that fulfills my needs, but that’s all for right now.”

Here are the recipe and the sigil, hopefully they’ll help!

Magnetic Me Attraction Oil
For attraction spells of all kinds
• Cinnamon Stick
• Cardamom
• Bay Leaf
• Sassafras Leaf

“Get Job” Sigil

✨ Magic in Soaked Oats Smoothie Bowls ✨

 (These pictures are all mine)

There’s ways to incorporate magic into everything in your life. It took me like a while to realize I should maybe make a post about this cause I do this almost every single day (unless I’m craving something savory in the morning). The key to this is preparing and in the preparation is magic!!  ✨

Happiness Spell Jar

A spell to draw happiness to those you care about.

  • jar with a lid
  • dried orange peel
  • cinnamon (sticks or ground is fine)
  • basil
  • Himalayan pink salt
  • quartz
  • paper
  • yellow string
  • pen/pencil (preferably yellow, but doesn’t need to be)
  • scissors (to cut the paper and string with)

Begin by cutting the paper into small strips and writing on them the names of those you wish to draw happiness toward. Roll each of these into a small scroll and tie them securely with pieces of the yellow string. As you do this, for each one say or think the following:

May joy and peace follow [them]*,
all the days of [their]* lives.
*use appropriate pronouns for each individual

Place each of these scrolls into your jar. Add in the pieces of dried orange peel, cinnamon, basil, Himalayan pink salt, and quartz, gently mixing the ingredients together. Place the lid on the jar (but do not seal - you may wish to add more names at a later date), and say over it three times:

May happiness find each upon their path,
and may their joy be eternal.

First Day Friendship Spell

You’ll need

  • 3-4 paperclips
  • a yellow cloth or baggie
  • napkin/paper towel (optional)
  • herbs/plants of your choice

Start with your paperclips. Take the first one. This represents “you” in the spell. Charge it with your energy. Take the remaining paperclips and focus on the types of people you want to draw to you. Clip each paperclip together to form a chain.

Place the paperclip inside of a napkin and add your herbs. I used dried orange peels, chamomile, and cloves. Oranges are great for happiness, cloves are attracting and also have a bit of ~spice~. Chamomile I added for friends with even temperaments, because I am not about the drama at all. Use different combinations of ingredients to attract different types of people. My goal was to find folks who I’d have fun with, were interesting or adventurous, but who were also chill. Hence my plant choices (also based on what I had on hand. College witch. Broke af.)

Fold the napkin and place it inside of the yellow bag. You can use almost any color baggie, but I like yellow because it’s good for happiness and communication, which is what friendship is also good for!

Your charm is now set. I charged it by putting it inside of my shirt near my heart for about 20 minutes before my first class. I just stuck it inside of my bra, but if you’re not a bra wearing person, you can also pin it to your shirt with a safety pin, tie it to a string, or use a different charging method.

Now go forth and make friends!!!

UPDATE 06/26: After taking another look at this spell and reflecting on my year, I’m pretty certain this spell worked, but the friends I made weren’t as long lasting or close as I’d hoped. Therefore, I’d recommend anyone trying this spell to add honey or pine (or both) for some longevity.

Motivation Spell

Here is an ultra quick and easy motivation or energy spell for you all!

What you need:

  • dried orange peels (any citrus works but orange and grapefruit are my faves)
  • cinnamon
  • clove
  • mirror
  • dish (plate, jar, whatever)
  • small candle (I use an off white but you can use any color)
  • felt tip pen or marker
  • Optional: Anything you find motivating like coffee grounds, tea, etc.

How to:

Begin by setting up your scene. Get somewhere neat and tidy and make sure there’s enough space for your mirror either standing or laying and your dish. I use a 5x7’’ mirror and a little Pyrex bowl that’s maybe ¾ C. Situate your candle in the dish. Using your writing utensil, write out the things you’d like to accomplish on the peels. Sprinkle the spices onto the peels. Spread the peel mixture around the candle being very careful not to get it in the wax.

Place your mirror in your clean spot. Set the dish either in front or on top of the mirror depending on your set up. Light your candle while thinking about how super great you’ll feel once you get all your junk done. If you want to, you can think about all the things you need to do and how you want them to turn out. The spell is done when the candle is melted (tea light) or when it is just above the top of the peel mixture.

Note: The peel mixture is flammable. Please be very careful and make sure you watch your candle and how low it gets!

🌝Happiness and Protection Jar Spell🌞
I did this for my friend because there’s someone trying to threaten her happiness.

-ash from palo santo wood and incense
-dried orange peel
-Colorado sage
-sunflower and dandelion petals
-black salt
-Stones- Rose Quartz, Tigers eye and lepidolite
-protective herbs- oregano, basil, bay leaves, clove and allspice
-happiness and protection sigil
-a candle -a very strong “nobody can fuck with my friends happiness” intent

Wounds to Mend

Alrighty then. So, this scene is part of a larger WIP fic of mine called ‘A Search for Sanctuary’ involving pre-Savior Negan and inspired heavily by ‘Here’s Negan’. For this scene, I got really inspired by the latest ‘Here’s Negan’ (14) and ended up going, of course, the smut-route with it.

Brief scene setter - The scene starts after Negan is injured. The group has dispersed for the night after nobody challenges Negan to any further fights and they say they will figure out what to do in the morning (whether the Rapey-Guy’s group wants to go their separate ways and etc.) Dwight gets in an argument with Sherry over Negan. Negan and Sherry at this point have been having a secret affair. (Word Count: 4,644 Warnings: Smut.)
