I loved how Ruff and Tuff seemed more united in this season. Altough they still fight with each other I could see them more like a team, a strong entity formed together. What do you think?
I think you’re right. A lot of the early characterization of Ruffnut and Tuffnut shows the two bickering, insulting one another, or outright fighting.
In the first How to Train Your Dragon movie, that’s almost exclusively what they do when they interact with each other. On their first day of Dragon Training, they get into a conflict about who gets the shield. When they are confronting the Deadly Nadder in training, they start yelling at one another about who gets to be in the blind spot. Even during the Battle of the Red Death, Tuffnut starts to pester Ruffnut by proving he is more annoying than her. They’re squabbling in the middle of a climactic battle with a monstrous, mountain-sized dragon!
Granted, we only see them a little bit in the first movie, so we should take that into consideration.
During Riders and Defenders of Berk times, there are many further instances of the twins quarreling we can see. Tuffnut insults the size of Ruffnut’s butt. Ruffnut finds many reasons to physically attack Tuffnut, some of which are friendly and invited, others of which are in retaliation to something stupid he said. There is an entire episode dedicated to the twins at odds. Most of the times they cannot fly Barf and Belch is because they have different ideas about what the dragon should do. There’s a lot of dysfunction.
However, we can explore more into the twins in Riders of Berk. In this exploration, we can see that, even in their dysfunction, there is a lot of unity and love, too. Ruffnut and Tuffnut reveal that they have grown up sharing everything they own, which requires some degree of cooperation! They enjoy blowing things up together or enjoying a good, billowing fire. Lots of their pranks on one another explore sibling camaraderie.
But I do agree with you that there seems to be more bickering and less unity earlier in their teenaged years. By the time of Race to the Edge, they seem to be doing a lot more in harmony.
Of course there is still bickering and disunity in RTTE, too. Ruffnut and Tuffnut argue about who is the “good Viking” and who is the “bad Viking” in their sleuthing interrogation session. They still have occasional problems deciding which direction to turn Barf and Belch. However, I feel like there has been a progression, a growth, which has subtly occurred in how the twins interact with one another. Through all their experiences together in the last few years, the relationship between the already-close twins seems to be even closer and more harmonious.
For now I still do like Dreamworks, It consists of a lot my favourite movies like, The Prince of Egypt, How to Train Your Dragon and Megamind.
Don’t get me wrong they have made some shittastic movies like turbo, Bee movie and Over the Hedge.
Btw I’ve watched all those movies in full and..why you ask? I always get in some random ass mood to watch trash movies, For example I just recently watch the new Fantastic four movie and it did not disappoint, so bad.
