drawing-therapy

I’ve been in a foul mood for a week and frustrated with my creativity, so my hubby decided to tidy the office and gave me an ultimatu: “Miku, stroking a cat, 15mn, NOW”. There is no religion or psychology providing solution or internal debate to have when it comes to drawing. You just need to KEEP ON DRAWING and eventually something that makes you have a large grin on your face appears.

The Signs as Art School Stereotypes

Libra: Sweet Art Education student who seem traumatized by the weirdo studio majors, always smiling, super long hair

Pisces: New Age, Eccentric Sculpture student who goes to music festivals every weekend, makes projects about the Illuminati and NWO, more #woke than you will ever be

Aquarius: Reserved Drawing/Illustration Major who draws hella good anime, never opens their mouth in critique until forced, vegan, fandom tees

Leo: Hipster painting student who thinks they’re the absolute shit, brags about smoking hookah and everything they do is meant to be ironic

Scorpio: Irritated Photography student who hates being in class but is always there, favorite color is black, always looks like they need a nap, opinionated

Aries: Yuppie Visual Communications student who brags about their love of craft beer, blood made of coffee, has really strong opinions about fonts, needs to relax

Virgo: Chill Ceramics student who smokes a lot of weed, thinks they suck but they really slay, succulents and cable knit sweaters

Capricorn: Super skilled Furniture Design student who can find a solution to anything, wears flannels and steel toed boots and it actually looks natural, works 109 hours a week

Cancer: Friendly but reserved Art Therapy student who is quietly reading everyone like a book, internal dialogue is constantly sassy, pastel hair, always on the verge of mental breakdown

Taurus: Edgy Printmaking student who shops at stores no one has heard of, small clique, loves to read, super detail oriented, doesn’t accept criticism well, makes everyone uncomfortable by bickering with professor

Gemini: General Fine Arts Student who floats from clique to clique seamlessly, indecisive, friendly but values alone time, inquisitive, listens to Nirvana and also Disney Soundtracks

Sagittarius: Headstrong Double Major who can’t keep their thoughts straight, skips class a lot, obsessed with Tim Burton movies, smokes cigarettes for aesthetic, talks too much during critique

HAVE YOU EVER... animated something? I look at your characters and can completely see them moving around really fluidly. Even if you never animated anything, it'd be okay because of how SUPER DYNAMIC a single drawing of yours is. (Also you're way ahead of where I was at your age... everything I drew was like a less fluid version of what I do now)

Say thanks pal! I used to animate some back on flipnote when I was a teen. I was more engaged because I could sync stuff up with audio. That and the onion skin actually worked properly (and it was free). I made a lot of shitty little videos, most of which I’ve lost unfortunately.

Though I really hated how stringy and mass-less my character’s looked. There weren’t no flesh and bones. So I just kinda said hey maybe I sit my ass down and work on that shit. And I really do have to keep workin’ on it and never stop.

But coming from you dude it really is an honor, your animations are Carbunkle level. Perfect action and reaction and how everything eases in and out it’s really mindblowing. Your stuff’s smooth as butter and professional as all hell. Don’t stop what you’re doing man yer stuff’s godly.

I’ll check out fire alpaca but I’d be more enticed to do so if there was audio sync. I’m a sucker for conversation. And animating is just so tedious in sai mainly because I suck and having to export and meticulously save every frame and upload images to gifmaker (because animation assistant bugs out) get’s tiresome very quick. I’d certainly put more effort into fluidity if there was a decent program that didn’t suck out your wallet for a cloud subscription.

But tl;dr Id love to do animations and cartoons in the future. I just need to get a decent animation program, and learn drafting and proper human construction and film from a college, and that costs money for both so I gotta get out of the house to get a job to get money for education, but in order to get a job I need to heal my panic anxiety and agoraphobia, which means more therapy and drawing and gym workouts, ect. Will I ever get past all my bullshit?

“Maybe someday!”

I love two characters (separately, each one in his own world) as each one of my patience followers know…Thranduil Oropherion and Loki. Laufeyson or Odinsson no matter at all.
And since I love to draw, I put many of my deepest emotions into drawing them.
Drawing is basically one of the most precious reason I still alive, the thing that make me feel free, capable and happy.
Yes, when I draw I’m feel happy.

And the two boys up there are the drawings I love most. Because resonates in me more than others.
Sometimes there’s not enough words to explain things that for your soul are clear and obvious…
The first one is my king. The way I love Thranduil character…he’s not the cold, proud and arrogant elven king, or not only.
He’s full of emotions, deep emotions that only when he’s alone with itself can floods down.
The second one is my young awesome prince. The introvert and bookworm prince. The second one and the quiet. And I feel him very close to me…he’s the outsider. I love him because I feel the same.
I have many drawings of them, most Thrandy, indeed, but this two are the most representatives of the deep emotions I connect with it.
