dramatic-appearance

Public reaction to the butch-fem couple [in the 1940s] was usually hostile, and often violent. Being noticed on the streets and the harassment that followed dominates the memories of both Black and white narrators. Ronni gives a typical description:

“Oh, you were looked down upon socially. When I walked down the streert, cars used to pull over and say, ‘Hey faggot, hey lezzie.’ They called you names with such maliciousness. And they hated to see you when you were with a girl. I was the one that was mostly picked on because I was identified. I was playing the male part in this relationship and most guys hated it. Women would look at me in kind of a confused looking [way], you know, straight women would look at me in kind of wonder.”

Piri remembers how the police used to harass her for dressing like a man:

“I’ve had the police walk up to me and say, ‘Get out of the car’. I’m drivin’. They say get out of the car; and I get out. And they say, ‘What kind of shoes you got on? You got on men’s shoes?’ And I say, ‘No, I got on women’s shoes.’ I got on some basket-weave women’s shoes. And he say, ‘Well you damn lucky.’ ‘Cause everything else I had on were men’s–shirts, pants. At that time when they pick you up, if you didn’t have on two garments that belong to a woman you could go to jail…and the same thing with a man…. They call it male impersonation or female impersonation and they’d take you downtown. It would really just be an inconvenience…. It would give them the opportunity to whack the shit out of you.”

Many narrators mention the legal specification for proper dress, although some said it required three pieces of female clothing, not two. If such a law did in fact exist, it did not dramatically affect the appearance of butches, who were clever at getting around it while maintaining their masculine image. The police used such regulations to harass Black lesbians more than whites, however.

Given the severe harassment, the butch role in these communities during the 1950s became identified with defending oneself and one’s girl in the rough street bars and on the streets. Matty describes the connection between her appearance and her need to be an effective fighter. The cultivated masculine mannerisms were necessary on the street:

“When I first came out in the bars it was a horror story. You know they say that you play roles. Yeag, back then you did play roles, and I was a bit more masculine back then than I am now. That was only because you walk down the street and they knew you were gay and you’d be minding your business and there’d be two or three guys standing on a street corner, and they’d come up to you and say, ‘You want to be a man, let’s see if you can fight like a man.’ Now being a man was the last thing on my mind, but man, they’d take a poke at you and you had to learn to fight. Then…when you go out, you better wear clothes that you could really scramble in if you had to. And it got to be really bad, I actually had walked down the street with some friends not doing anything and had people spit at me, or spit at us, it was really bad.”

[…] If the world was dangerous for butches, it was equally dangerous for the fems in their company, whom the butches felt they needed to protect. Some butches state that they did most of their fighting for their fems. Sandy describes how confrontational men could be.

“Well you had to be strong–roll with the punches. If some guy whacked you off, said, ‘Hey babe,’ you know. Most of the time you got all your punches for the fem anyhow, you know. It was because they hated you….’How come this queer can have you and I can do this and that….’ You didn’t hardly have time to say anything, but all she would have to say [is] ‘No,’ when he said, ‘Let’s go, I’ll get you away from this.’ He was so rejected by this ‘no’ that he would boom, go to you. You would naturally get up and fight the guy, at least I would. And we did that all the time, those that were out in their pants and T-shirts. And we’d knock them on their ass, and if one couldn’t do it we’d all help. And that’s how we kept our women. They cared for us, but you don’t think for a minute they would have stayed with us too long or something if we stood there and just were silent…. Nine times out of ten she’d be with you to help you with your black eye and your split lip. Or you kicked his ass and she bought you dinner then. But you never failed, or you tried not to…. You were there, you were gay, you were queer and you were masculine.”

*~Venus Signs~*

Venus in Aries: Men with this placement are attracted to feisty, sassy, passionate women. They appeal to women by showing their boldness. Secretly, they want a woman to get on top and ride them! Women with Venus in Aries like to dominate a man, express sass, and they are full of va va voom as lovers! She gets herself in trouble as she sometimes speaks with a sharp tongue. She’ll just as easily knock someone down with her attitude, as she’ll stick up for herself without inhibition! Aphrodite carries a flaming torch thru unexplored lands, leading others behind her. Marching bravely, sometimes acting carelessly, she learns lessons the hard way as she assumes she knows what other people will say or how scenarios turn out. She doesn’t often look before she leaps, the vitality within her doesn’t have time to wait and think things thru; this could actually be a virtue in the sense that she can quickly respond to crisis. Acting on impulse propels her to be a go-getter; truth is, we need impulsive people just as much as we value cautious people. The zest in her soul drives her to persist, there’s hardly any joys she will have missed! Her adventurous spirit always finds something to do, in an instant, she rises anew.

A pleasing voice aids them in their talent of persuasion. Women with a Gemini Venus are curious to get with a variety of men (or women). The duality of Gemini may be inclined to attraction of more than one gender; or even power play, alternating between D/s roles. Kinks, toys, sex positions, and different kinds of sex are treated with an open mind, experimentation is playful! Venus in Gemini is a jester in love, sometimes they treat it like a game and don’t realize they’ve led someone on. They’d rather not be pinned down as they’re a natural flirt. Their intellect tends to be scattered, learning bits of many subjects without mastering any. They struggle with commitment in love or projects, unless other planets indicate otherwise. For the most part, they live to experience all that life has to offer, getting a taste of many flavors of romance, their sex life, food, and various art movements.

Venus in Cancer: The way to their heart is thru a home cooked meal. Their self-esteem is highest when they have a lifestyle that allows them to flow in their rhythms, they are likely not the type who thrive under pressure or like to be challenged, they’d rather experience security where they can allow their inner child to be expressed. Men with a Cancer Venus are attracted to nurturing women who are motherly. They may subconsciously seek women who resemble their mother, or women who heal their mommy issues. Women with Venus in Cancer express their femininity by intuiting how to appeal to others, they aren’t loud and proud with their female expression, more timid and imaginative. If she has honored the divine feminine, by caring for her body the way that feels right to her, she will shimmer with feminine mystique, pulling in men with her tides of alluring womanhood. Aphrodite dives in the dark creepy depths of the sea, unlocking secrets from a treasure chest buried under sand made of crushed up seashells that were formed thousands of years ago. A peek into the past, she yearns to feel the entire ocean in her heart, to swim in memories so vast… She carries an ocean jasper with her, to hold onto a lost love, she’ll never forget. She admires pearls with iridescence, hoping someone will cherish her essence.

Venus in Leo: Women with this can be bold and expressive, excited to pursue creative projects and they experience physical pleasure with vigor. Compliments make her swoon, she’s a well-groomed babe applying makeup oh so artfully. She is so bright and passionate, she can commit (as Leo is a fixed sign) but the fire of spontaneity can also enjoy flirting with someone just one time to validate herself as a bombshell. Men with Venus in Leo are attracted to confident women who are glamorous. They love to stroke a woman’s ego. Aphrodite dolls herself up with rosy cheeks, bright eye shadow, gold sequins contouring her dashing figure, her hairdo gains attention, and she speaks with pride from her juicy lips. She can daringly make out with someone she barely met.

Venus in Virgo: an earthly sensuality that is physically affectionate and turned off by those who brag. Discerning about how they give out their love, they know what they want in a partner and will not settle! They enjoy critiquing art and ideas. Men with a Virgo Venus respect women who value accuracy in the topics they speak of, and a woman who is willing to get down to work. They make a point to be courteous and considerate, as the Virgo archetype cares to put their best foot forward, realizing that you do need to care what others think in order to be a productive person. However, a life of nitty gritty work turns them cynical to the point of picking out the faults of others. The caution of Venus in Virgo is to become aware of one’s own negativity, learning to be more open and tolerant. These people are modest unless certain placements by the sun or Jupiter suggest otherwise. Aphrodite harvests the fruits of the earth for a feast, nourishing their loved ones with all the essential amino acids.

Venus in Libra: A soft sweet romantic who keeps an open mind, interested in others’ opinions. Libra is an ingenue, with many men drawn to her, she doesn’t want to hurt any of their feelings so she may accidentally lead them on! She can find the beauty in everyone, and she may need someone with strong Virgo in their chart to help her determine who is worth her time, and who may not have best intentions. Libra wishes to be the socialite, spending lots of time with many different kinds of friends without realizing how these friends are influencing her/his thoughts. Libra has that way of compromising discernment when it comes to the truth of a situation in order to go along with the viewpoint that is popular among their friends. A Venus in Libra girl will go along with what their man says, she probably likes to be dominated. An evolved Libra gathers a bunch of information, to seek justice and truth instead of what pleases others. Venus in Libra is very persuasive. With his/her friends, someone with Venus in Libra likes to make others feel included, their fair minded disposition brings everyone together with the goal of increasing harmony in this world.

Venus in Scorpio: This woman is daring and intense, she is not easily impressed! Her abilities of discernment and judgement protect her from getting hurt, but when they do get hurt, heartbreak stings them to the core… People with Venus in Scorpio radiate sexuality and like to have a dramatic appearance and attitude. Men with Venus in Scorpio have a dangerous appeal, they’ve explored darkness that many cannot handle and they might even be kinky. There has to be a genuine emotional connection in your relationships or else you’ll feel unfulfilled. Venus in Scorpio has a chaotic love life as they are addicted to feeling a love that shakes them to the bones! Aphrodite dangles spider webs from her fingertips, her skin is pale as she’s been plotting revenge in her cave instead of basking in the light, she brews a potion of hypnosis in her cauldron; whoever drinks it is doomed to fall madly in love with her… She likes knowing she has power over others, she doesn’t care for diplomacy unless if she’s using it to hide her suspicions…

Venus in Sagittarius: You enjoy dates where you’re exploring new territory, whether that be hiking trails, or conversing intriguing topics. You’re wild and adventurous in your love life even if you’re more cautious and sensible in other areas. Taking chances and trying new activities gives you a thrill. You’re curious about foreign cultures and other peoples’ perspectives. Men with Venus in Sagittarius desire women who are spontaneous and open minded, bonus points if she introduces him to new ideas and places. They tend to be loose with their money, as men with a Sagittarius Venus are generous to a fault, and put off by frugality. They’ll get caught up in the passion of the moment, using up too much of an item, to find themselves with none left later on. If someone with Venus in Sagittarius doesn’t have enough earth in their chart, they struggle with being unaware of consequences until the shit hits the fan. Aphrodite sings a prayer with 108 Tulsi beads, banging a gong under a pagoda, blowing a didgeridoo in the outback for dreamtime, hunting for mescalito in the Sonoran desert, trying a tribal dance on the savannah, playing a harp in the Scottish highlands with fairies…

Venus in Capricorn: You indulge in the pure physical sensation of sex and might not get so emotional about it (unless other factors in the chart say otherwise). You value good quality food and a love prospect has to meet certain standards of yours for you to commit to them, otherwise you enjoy entirely physical connections with the opposite sex. These people are cautious about falling in love, as they are hesitant to be tender and vulnerable in relationships. Men with Capricorn Venus value women with sensibility, superb taste in food, music, clothes, and art. They are horrendously turned off by people who are unrealistic, all over the place, impulsive, or assuming. They cannot stand it when people jump to conclusions, they’re “hold your horses” type of people. Aphrodite expresses herself in a classy suit, she may have flair but it is very refined. Her polished presentation of herself sets a respectable impression. It’s not that she never goes wild, but she waits for the correct time to do so. Underneath her self-conscious tendencies is a satyr enjoying themselves in the forest. Someone with Venus in Capricorn can thoroughly savor their connection to the earth, barefoot on the gems and minerals of the dirt, every pressure point of her toes receives the energy of the stones. Playing the pan flute while gaining a tan from sunbeams, eating their grapes one by one, sauntering thru meadows and mountains, having the patience to notice the mathematical beauty of the ferns in the Fibonacci sequence…

Venus in Aquarius: You appeal to others with adorable quirkiness. You may have the capacity to be detached during sex. From a psychological perspective, someone with an Aquarius Venus might have experienced a heartbreak or trauma that caused them to be detached in how they feel about relationships. Rationalizing one’s romantic life reinforces the idea of being in control of their feelings, even though their love life is chaotic. They can categorize lust from romance from lurve from infatuation, yet their feelings could be so erratic and unstable that they fool themselves into thinking they’re more logical when love isn’t meant to be logical. There can be a neurosis in attempting to understand relationship dynamics. A tendency to be kinky will make this person want to experiment with going wild in the bedroom. Unpredictable people hold their attention! They are turned on by people who stimulate their mind. Venus in Aquarius people value the broad spectrum of gender and sexuality, homophobes lose major points with them. Men with an Aquarius Venus are drawn to chatty women who flaunt their intellect and women who aren’t afraid of strange people. Aphrodite skips up the Ethernet cable, connecting humanity if the internet connection is stable. Networking a group together, harmonizing social dynamics for a grand plan. We’re comrades till the end, brainstorming ideas, testing theories, until you unfriend. Spurts of inspiration, an outcast in cynical contemplation. Seeking reactions by acting life a freakazoid, the free spirit could care less who’s annoyed!

Venus in Pisces gives you capacity to love freely, but the caution is that you put on “rose colored glasses” figuratively when it comes to love. You may put your love interests on a pedestal, getting caught up in the fantasy. You may fall for people who seem kinder than they turn out to be, as you can get carried away with your excitement, to the point of blinding yourself to the flaws of a love interest, only to get hurt in the end. You likely need to learn to understand boundaries, and be firm in sticking to them. Seeking pleasure in escapism, may enjoy having a glass of wine or smoke a bowl to release the pressure of the world. Men with a Pisces Venus are attracted to dreamy girls who go with the flow rather than women who challenge them. They value adaptability rather than someone stubborn. Aphrodite dreams endlessly, perceiving messages from the spirit world, peering into another reality… A sea of psychedelia stares back at her, where do all the whirlwinds lead? “How do I distinguish what I truly need?” Carried away on spending for indulgence, swept away by a new romance, she is enamored by her own brain chemistry. Lost in a blur of pure feeling, in her own world, the collective consciousness is revealing.

Descendent signs 🌟

The 7th house aka your descendent represents what you will be attracted to, it is generally opposite your rising sign. For example my rising is Aires and my descendent is libra. I am definitely always attracted to a librian energy but also all the air signs(Gemini, Aquarius, libra).

Descendant in Aries (Ruled by Mars)

You are drawn to courageous individuals who have no difficulty asserting themselves. Your partner may appear as an athletic individual or entrepreneur. While your Libra rising can make you indecisive and diplomatic, you may be drawn to a partner who either helps you make decisions or makes them for you.

Descendant in Taurus (Ruled by Venus)

You are drawn to a stable partner who may be more practical and grounded than your Scorpio rising sign. You may impulsively jump into one relationship after another and eventually settle into an enduring and stable one. Your partner may be a provider or enjoy cooking for you with a demonstrated depth of sensuality.

Descendant in Gemini (Ruled by airy Mercury)

You are drawn to an inquisitive partner who may retain a youthful appearance. Sagittarius rising can lead you in search of greener pastures so it is not uncommon to have more than one partner at a time. Your partner appears to be very communicative and sociable and you may share conversations well into the early morning hours.

Descendant in Cancer (Ruled by the Moon)

Your Capricorn ascendant makes you slightly reserved in seeking a partnership and Cancer on the Descendant describes a homebody. You may be drawn to those who mother you in some way. Both Capricorn and Cancer prefer a less social lifestyle and enjoy time spent at home, cooking and building a wonderful nest.

Descendant in Leo (Ruled by the Sun)

You are drawn to a very dramatic partner who appears benevolent and full of character. Your Aquarius ascendant can lead you to explore unusual partnerships but your partner’s devotion, chivalry and knack for creating the perfect romantic evening can rescue you from your highly analytical perch.

Descendant in Virgo (Ruled by earthy Mercury)

You are drawn to a partner who appears organized and analytical with a wry sense of humor. Your Pisces ascendant might make it difficult for you to understand who you are let alone what you want. It may be that your partner provides a sense of routine or brings you an element of groundedness that is attractive to you.

Descendant in Libra (Ruled by airy Venus)

You are drawn to a refined and elegant individual who is charming and graceful. Your Aries rising can lead you from one adventure to another and your partner may ask just the right questions that lead you to lay down roots. Descendent in Libra describes a committed and loyal partner.

Descendant in Scorpio (Ruled by Pluto)

You are drawn to a partner who appears very intense and may prod you through deep transformational experiences. Your Taurus rising can make you slow to reveal yourself and a bit rooted in making changes. Your partner’s commitment to achieve deep intimacy appeals to your Taurus sensuality.

Descendant in Sagittarius (Ruled by Jupiter)

You are drawn to a partner who enjoys sports, philosophy and the outdoors. Your Gemini rising can make it difficult for anyone to truly know you and your partner provides just the amount of lightness and lack of routine that appeals to you. Long discussions into the night is suggested by this placement.

Descendant in Capricorn (Ruled by Saturn)

You are drawn to an ambitious and practical individual who values honesty over intense emotional expression. Your Cancer rising can make you behave like a mother to others and your mate appreciates your stability and desire to provide a comfortable nest.

Descendant in Aquarius (Ruled by Uranus)

You are drawn to unusual people who help you validate your own uniqueness. Your Leo rising can make you quite dramatic and romantic although your partner may operate more in the mental realms and won’t be overly emotional. There may be something unusual about how you approach relationships and your partner appreciates your open minded attitude.

Descendant in Pisces (Ruled by Neptune)

You are drawn to sensitive individuals who appreciate the value of family and roots. Your Virgo rising can make you want to jump in and organize your partner’s life. Your desire for routine provides stability for your partner who helps you dig deeper into intimacy where you may often bury your emotions in a highly analytical approach to life.

(Cafeausoul)

Watch me flinch as I try not to drop the very mobile and clever Hyllus diardi. Aka: heavy jumper.
These are my favorite finds, and I don’t think there has ever been a time where I failed to document a specimen I’ve found because they’re just so cute and photogenic! And they move like an animatronic..!

This one is a female! The males are not much different in size, but have a dramatically different appearance; being mostly black with lanky forelimbs and a noticeable lack off furriness compared to their lovely lady counterparts.

Can I just say I am fascinated by the way ONE is revisiting the previous arcs? It’s more than just a general self-reference on what came before, it’s like actually redoing the arcs where in some cases the exact same thing happens but because of context everything is different and it’s just such nifty storytelling.

Mob is faced with the problem of defining who he wants to be and what he wants to do.

New Beginnings

On your first day of college, you’re introduced to Kim Jonghyun, a kind third-year student. As your time in university progresses, you experience many of your college “firsts” with him, leading you to fall for the junior.

  • ft. yuehua sprouts as your best friends (pls ignore their ages omg)
  • also if i ever do the frat au series, it will be in the same universe as this fic
  • 4.5 k words
  • warnings for alcohol, drugs, attempted use of date-rape drugs

You sighed, staring at the pamphlet in your slightly shaking hand before glancing around quickly. It was the first day of college, and you were supposed to be meeting your mentor/guide for the first time; he was thirty minutes late.

“Um, excuse me?” A kind voice asked you from behind the student services desk. A tall guy stood there, dressed in a black t-shirt and ripped black jeans. His black ensemble was complimented with, you guessed it, black hair. “Did you need something?”

“Uh, yeah,” you nodded, scrambling to show him the paper with your mentor assignment, “I was supposed to meet my mentor here, like, half an hour ago, but he isn’t here.”

The guy glanced at the paper with a frown. When he saw who your mentor was, he sighed and shook his head, tsk-ing under his breath.

“I can try giving him a call if you’d like?” The guy offered, “I’m pretty close with him. What time’s your first class?”

You checked your timetable first and then your watch, wincing. “Fifteen minutes?”

The guy shook his head again, pulling his phone out and punching something into it, lifting it to his ear.  The phone rang a few times before someone picked up. “Minki, where are you?…No, it’s your first day of mentoring! The poor girl’s been waiting for half an hour, where the hell are you?…. You’re what? How much did you drink last night?….. Minki, really?” He waited for the person to hang up before turning to you with an amused grin.

“Looks like I’ll be taking you to your first class,” he said, walking around the desk that he’d been working at. “Hyung, cover for me!” He yelled to the back, taking your timetable gently. “I’m Kim Jonghyun, a third year student here.”

“(Y/n),” you introduced yourself, “I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but why isn’t my mentor here?”

Jonghyun gave you a crooked smile, “he’s uh, he’s still drunk from the night before. To be honest, I’m surprised he’s even in this mentor program to begin with.”

“Oh,” you’d obviously heard stories about the amount of drinking that happened in college, but to still be drunk the next morning? That was a lot of alcohol.

“Anyways, your first class is in the West Building,” Jonghyun said, heading out of the student services office. You hurried to follow, feeling a bit nervous about your first day at college. “So, are you staying on campus or are you a commuter student?”

“Oh, I’m on campus,” you replied, “I’ve been here for about two weeks getting settled in.”

“How do you like it so far?” Jonghyun asked casually, turning the corner. Someone riding a skateboard at a very high speed was barreling down the sidewalk, so he guided you to the side.

“It’s nice,” you nodded, trying to memorize the way that Jonghyun was taking you, “I like the atmosphere, but the food in the cafeteria sucks.”

“And your roommates?” You appreciated Jonghyun carrying on the conversation—it helped distract you from the fact that this was your first college class.

You shrugged at that question, “they’re nice, but they knew each other from high school, so I’m a bit left out.”

“Ah,” Jonghyun nodded, “Yeah, my first year, I was roommates with Minki and this other super weird guy, Taemin. Taemin, I dunno what the hell happened to him, he’s probably dealing weed to freshmen or something, but Minki and I ended up renting an apartment off-campus with three other guys.”

“That’s cool,” you remarked, impressed. Maybe what people said was true—maybe you did make your closest friends in college.

“Well, here you are,” Jonghyun gestured up at the huge brick building, ivy creeping up its sides, “the lecture hall will be impossible to miss, when you enter, the door is right across the way.”

“Thank you,” you said quickly, accepting your timetable from him, “I know you didn’t have to take me to class, but I appreciate it.”

“It’s no trouble,” Jonghyun smiled at you easily, “and if Minki ever doesn’t show up or anything, you can just ask me for help. Here—“ he produced a pen from his pocket and scrawled his number on the back of your timetable. “Good luck on your first day of classes, (y/n)!”

“Thank you!” You said again, heading inside the lecture hall.

Not so long ago, you would have stared in awe at the girl in front of you. She was almost glowing in a beautiful golden tutu. It was long and shimmering, reaching down to her calves. Her pointe shoes was gold satin, with matching ribbons. Her bodice was made from panels of more gold satin. It was cut in a ‘v’ down her chest, making her look even more elegant, and translucent beads were stitched up in delicate branches. Her hair was plaited and twisted into a bun. She looked like some sort of a princess.

But you weren’t the (Name) who’d first met her outside Jimin’s studio that night.

Taeyeon stood glaring at you, looking nothing like the prima ballerina you’d once thought she’d resembled.

Jimin cautiously stood up, looking Taeyeon up and down. “Taeyeon, what are you doing?”

We’re dancing our pas de deux, Jimin.” She said, picking up a layer of her tutu and letting it drift down again. She couldn’t be serious.
“But right now I need to talk to (Name).”

What?

Jimin looked at you, then back to Taeyeon. “Taeyeon…I’m not dancing with you, not tonight.”

She faltered for a second, looking at him in surprise, but then quickly straightened. “Whatever.” She said nonchalantly. “We’ll talk about it later.” Her eyes fixed on you. “(Name)? Shall we?”

Gandreiðarstafur - Witch Riding Stave

“To go wherever you want”

Icelandic scholar Þorsteinn Konráðsson began collecting Galdrastafur in 1890, but it was not until 1934 that he collected up his volumes of data and wrote it up including hundreds of magic symbols. His style was unique, using a two-tone black and red for dramatic effect. This one appears in several other manuscripts but never first - it must have been Þorsteinn’s favourite.

Yuri’s weight issues

I was thinking about Yuri’s weight issues in the first couple of episodes of Yuri on Ice. When I was watching the show with @cassandrexx she commented with surprise on how quickly Yuri lost the weight and it’s true. Given what we see in the first episode, one would expect it to take a lot longer to get down to what Victor deems acceptable (and weight loss that fast would be seriously unhealthy).

But the thing is, Yuri’s appearance alters dramatically, sometimes from shot to shot. For example, there’s a shot of Yuri exercising in episode 1:

A few seconds later, the angle changes and we see him from the back.

He looks considerably thinner in the second shot. Now this could be put down to inconsistencies in the animation (there’s a moment in the airport scene in a later episode when Yuri’s coat changes colour, so the show doesn’t always get it perfectly right), but the thing is, we know Yuri is an unreliable narrator with a heap of self-esteem issues. What if his perception of his weight - and subsequently his appearance in the animation, fluctuates based on his mood?

For example, when Minako first brings up Yuri’s weight, his stomach is bulging out of his shirt:

He’s feeling really self-conscious and when his weight is brought up, he feels huge and his perception of himself changes.

A few minutes later, when he’s discussing other subjects with his sister, the weight isn’t nearly so obvious: He’s still got a bulge to his stomach, but it’s nothing like the picture above.

When he goes to skate, he’s focusing on the program and there’s no stomach bulge:

Even when we see him from the side:

Then, a few minutes later, Takeshi shows up and comments on Yuri’s weight, and we get this:

Either that t-shirt was really holding in his stomach, or the comments made him feel fat again, and thus it translated onto the screen.

Similarly, when Victor talks about Yuri’s weight in episode 2, Yuri’s stomach instantly shoots out when Victor mentions his weight. It’s possible that Yuri was trying to hold in his gut and couldn’t manage it anymore, but I like the interpretation that Yuri’s image on screen is based on his perception of himself.

I have no idea if this was the intention of the creators, but as someone who’s had serious weight-related issues for more than half my life, I like the idea that the show is presenting us with Yuri’s body dysmorphia.

If Tamlin tries to marry Feyre again
  • Ianthe: Is there anyone who objects to this wedding?
  • *entire Night Court appears at the back and everyone looks at them*
  • Feyre: *turns back to Tamlin again and smirks* I object.
  • *High Lady tattoo dramatically appears*
  • *Wings and Talons appear, darkness oozes out of her and poofy Spring Court wedding dress transforms into Night Court style*
  • Rhysand: That's my girl. *plus signature smirk because duh it's Rhys*

Hey guys so I made a quick lil guide to contouring on a masculine face with our unisex contour kit! The trick here is to use slanted lines to make the face appear more chiseled and, if you have a narrower face like me, wider and more traditionally masculine. Apply the contour shade under jaw and cheek bones and around temples, and then parallel your lines with highlighter. Set with a translucent powder!

Since our product is made to mimic the natural pigmentation of the face, the lighter shades of our contour kit are less pigmented than the darker ones. This is simply because there is less natural pigment in lighter complexions and thus less color is required to dramatically change the appearance of the face. Indeed, the “highlighter” in the lightest kit (pictured here) is simply a balm to balance the appearance of areas with makeup and areas without.

Male Alien Pregnancy in Office:

A man working at his office started feeling harsh stomach pains late Tuesday afternoon. What he at first assumed to be mild indigestion turned out to be an alien parasite that had been laid inside of his belly without his knowledge. Once he felt he belly start to move, he began filming. The footage you see here is the alien pushing against the walls of his belly in an attempt at escape while growing inside of him.

After his belly appears to dramatically increase in size, it appears to be more than the man can handle and the video ends.
