One of the strongest and most violent clans, the Warsong Clan was also one of the most distinguished clans on Draenor and were natives to the grassy plains of Nagrand. Led into Azeroth under the leadership of the mighty Grommash Hellscream, the Warsong terrorized and decimated Alliance combatants during the First War with their ferocious battle prowess. The clan is known for their high-pitched battle cries and the rhythmic songs they chant in battle.

Many Warsong orcs now reside in Ashenvale Forest, where they operate a lumber camp near Demon Fall Canyon, where a monument to Hellscream now sits. For it was Hellscream who paid the ultimate price to free the orcs from their damning connection to the Burning Legion.

The Shadowmoon Clan was the most powerful clan on Draenor prior to the world’s destruction. Named for the massive Shadowmoon Valley in which it was based, the clan was very heavily influenced by shamanistic traditions, making them the most spiritual of orcish clans. They had a rich history of astrology, and their shamanism was powered by the “language of the stars” in addition to that of the earth. Their knowledge of the heavens led them to discovering the powers of the Void, yet such dark practices were forbidden hundreds of years ago.

The Horde was born of Shadowmoon leadership, beginning with the Elder Shaman Ner’zhul who was eventually usurped by Gul’dan, the very first warlock. A clan once revered and respected, the majority of the Shadowmoon fell to demonic influence and corruption. A great many Shadowmoon comprised Gul’dan’s terrible Shadow Council, notably his chiefest lieutenant, Teron’gor (who would in time become the first death knight, Teron Gorefiend).

The clan has since been whittled down to a whisper of what it once was, slain through multiple wars and twisted beyond recognition by demonic forces. Inhabitants of Shadowmoon Village in Outland, now members of the reformed Horde, are likely the last uncorrupted members of the Shadowmoon clan in existence.
