Are You Willing to Trust God with Everything? by Dr. Tony Evans
The Lord tested Abraham in the most devastating way; sacrificing his only son. In order words God was saying, “I want you to give me the thing you love most.” As Abraham was about to slay his son, the angel of the Lord called out to him and said, “Do not lay a hand on the boy.” Abraham looked up and saw a ram in a thicket. He never hears the ram trying to get out of the thicket until he’s finished the command to obey. Do you know your answer could be sitting next to you but you will never know it until God is ready to reveal it. As Abraham was traveling on one side God had the solution (the ram) traveling on the other side.
Are you willing to trust God with your Isaac? The thing you want to release the least. The thing that means the most. The thing that you’re holding tight and don’t want to let go. Abraham saw God mattered more to him than Isaac. Loving God means acting out what God said. It’s not about attending church, giving money but your obedience. The reason so many of us don’t know the name Jehovah Jireh cause God is still waiting for you to act on what He said even though you may not understand how it’s going to work out… How it’s going to happen. Isaac had to be placed on the alter. When God said, “Now that I know you fear Me.” Then and only then did the solution (the ram) showed up.
This means single Christian, that you must give your single-hood over to God. The desire for a mate maybe so strong that has cause you to not follow God completely as a single and He can literally have the person He wants for you sitting next to you year after year and you never see it because the thing He wants from you, you don’t want to give it — it could be money, your career. I don’t understand how I’m gonna make it, I don’t understand how it’s gonna work out, I don’t know what you’re gonna to do but this is what you said and what I’m gonna to do. The greatest sacrifice made was Jesus, the Son of God and through Him we have eternal life if you’ll repent, call on His name, and believe God raised Him from the dead.
