Can You Imagine Doom Inviting Both Sisters Out To Dinner?

Well, Why Not? Both Sisters Are Gorgeous And Doom Knows That.

Also, They Both Had Interesting Magic And Powers And That Was What He Found So Intriguing About Them. He Will Make Them Queens.

Unsolicited opinion: Simon Baz isn’t ignored by Green Lanterns, nor is he diminished or used solely to prop up Jessica Cruz. Yes, we had a string of Jessica focused arcs (Phantom Lantern, the one shot focusing on her depression, and a portion of the Rage Seed arc), but are people forgetting about the rest of the Rage Seed arc, the Gotham arc, and the Dr Polaris arc?

Yes, there’s been a heavy focus on Jessica Cruz’s mental illnesses, and when that’s the focus, Simon is her cheerleader. There’s also been a heavy focus on Simon’s lack of faith in his ring, and his powers that no other GL has.

The lack of focus on Simon isn’t something Sam Humphries is doing, it’s something the Green Lantern fandom is doing. People don’t draw him or write him unless Jessica is there as well, but in the comic itself he gets just as much focus as Jessica, just at different times. GLs doesn’t alternate who gets the focus with each arc, Simon and Jessica each have a string of small arcs to themselves while the other supports them.

Simon tries to save Dr. Polaris brother’s life in Green Lanterns #21

Holy shit this issue was SO. GOOD. It really has only very little actually happened – Simon trying to heal Seth the way he healed Nadir and then repercussions of how that turns out, but the tension was so strong that every page pushes you more towards the edge of your seat as you see the conclusion. The way this issue is structured is masterful at keeping the readers’ heart beating faster as stakes rise, on top of that building with Simon’s emotional issues and Dr. Polaris’ inner turmoil and all of that is illustrated just beautifully and with attention to subtle details like the difference in ways Simon and Jessica make constructs. Fan. Tastic. Once again Green Lanterns remind us why it’s one of the best books of Rebirth.
