So, since I had a few sweet followers comment about the content quality of my little blog, here, so I thought I’d share a little about HOW I go about creating that content.
If you had to guess where I got it from, you’d probably think I just searched the internet, maybe screenshot a few episodes, downloaded the manga. And while I do watch Sailor Moon frequently, I only do so to make GIFs, which I do make all the ones I post here, in case you were wondering :) But the images I post, are actually photographs.
You see, I have a ridiculously extensive collection of Sailor Moon print material. From the manga, to the animanga, to the 5 art books and the Materials collection, to the Nakayoshi Sailor Moon ‘albums’, I’ve got it all.
And because I have such ‘vast’ resources, (no you really DON’T want to know how much all of those cost xD) I’m a hobbyist photographer, and doing things the EASY way is just too obvious, I take photographs.
And it takes a LOT of time.
First, there’s searching through the books to find what I’m looking for. Sometimes, I go on photo sprees where I’ll just photograph a bunch of things, and then use them later, but if it’s something specific, I sometimes have to do research to figure out where it is. And when I finally do find it, the real fun begins.
I photograph entire pages, because almost none of the images are big enough to fill the frame by themselves. And getting the focus on the correct image on the said page can often be tricky. (Thank God my nails look nice on the day I took this xD)
Then, comes post processing. I have to crop, tweak the exposure, desaturate (if I’m working from manga images), deal with shadow/light inconsistencies, contrast, white balance, highlights, you name it! It’s lengthy and intensive process. BUT I LOVE DOING IT <33
This is one of my absolute favorite pastimes! I get to spend time with the anime that won my heart at the age of 8. I get to photograph, which I LOVE. AND I get to share it with you <333 It’s so fun for me to see the response to my semi-not-so-really-original content. Thank you all SO much for following along, and please let me know if there’s anything you ever want to see.
I like my coffee how I like my men .... super old and really unique *points to brook and jinbei*
I’m only 90 years old!!!
((Guess who’s back again…I got a new laptop for Christmas and after a bit of fumbling with downloading the right programs, (wacom’s site was being a bit troublesome) I’m finally able to draw properly. Now I just have to get used to manga studio again…including modifying all the brushes and settings…))
But would Bramblepaw ever be truly loyal to his birth Clan, with his father still in the forest?
“Can I trust you?” Firestar blurted out suddenly.
The young cat didn’t rush to defend himself. Instead Bramblepaw held him with that serious gaze for a moment more. “Can I trust you?” he responded, twitching his ears in the direction of the Twoleg garden.
one of my favorite scenes in the first arc, Firestar and Bramblepaw having a heart-to-heart about where their loyalties lie. I’ve been wanting to illustrate this for a while tbh, I just wish I was better at doing backgrounds so I could do the scene more justice
Urgh, I ended up watching Fukumenkei Noise because of some screencap/GIF’s and Momo appealed to me, I was like 2 episodes in, when I saw the flashback scene to Momo & Nino to their childhood:
Like they were so adorable, they were even holding hands too:
Singing while walking to school together, holding hands:
They are always together, and I actually find that really cute/adorable. Even at night they will talk as well, that’s so sweet:
They hold hands like they’re dating it’s natural
And when she sings, her voice will reach out to him:
And when someone talks badly about her voice/singing, he will defend her:
At night, he took her to this place, to cheer her up:
And when she’s doubting herself about her capabilities of singing, Momo was there to reassure her and cheer her up:
And when he told her if they were to separate, he hoped for her singing will guide them back together ~~ He was hinting here that he will be moving away, not something he wants to, but something he cannot control on his end:
And let me tell you I’m a sucker for Childhood love like these, but why, why does it have to be the type of LT that annoys me? I am sensing it’s going to be similar to the type of LT (like in Vampire Knight) that really puts me off. I don’t want to put my heart into loving it and being disappointed with the outcome, and worst thing is, Yuzu actually annoys me, I don’t like him, he was (in his own way) selfish, and wanted Nino to himself. When he told her to continue singing the song and believe that one day her singing will reach Momo again, and see him again, Yuzu said it in his heart, that he hoped that day will never come and he even said that he hoped Nino love will never be recognized, that’s selfish….
And I just want to say:
This is her strong love for Momo damn it. How can you (Yuzu) be so cruel to Nino and ‘wish’ that her love never be recognized and that she never see Momo again?
I’m sorry, but this is totally why I don’t like Yuzu on my end. Like sure, “love can make one person selfish”, but honestly, that’s really uncalled for. If you really want to make her happy, then stop thinking about yourself and what she wants more…
I actually have the manga downloaded on my manga app, but now I’m hesitating to reading it, from the comments I’ve read, it looks like it’s going to be Yuzu x Nino, and yeah, that’s sad because I actually was really going to continue this series on my end. Momo x Nino appealed to me way more than Yuzu x Nino… But because of this LT, because of how it actually remind me back to an LT that I hated (in Vampire Knight), I decided I’ll save myself from the heart-ache from continuing >_<
I really like Momo though, and was really shipping Momo x Nino and hoping Nino will find him again. But, if the road is going to go down the other route and show me something I don’t want to see, then I’ll save myself from this heart-ache and will quit now… Before I’m in too deep like VK… Sadly, it’s a potential good series. But then, Vampire Knight was the same… But was totally wasted.Yuzu kinda remind me of Zero… And I have a feeling Nino will remind me of Yuki… Urgh.
You keep saying that drawing children porn isn't illegal and yet I keep finding court cases of people going to trial and either being found guilty or pleading out because they knew they'll be found guilty...
So here’s how it plays out. I’ll do your critical thinking for you this time. Pay attention to the dates because it’s important.
2005 Virginia case- Dwight Whorley
This was the first major case since the PROTECT act came into effect. Dwight Whorley downloaded lolicon manga onto a government computer at his job and was brought to trial. This is the only actual conviction at trial (i.e not a plea bargain) for child pornography for the posession of lolicon manga and it is over a decade ago, almost 15 years.
2008 Iowa case - Christopher Handley
Christopher Handley was arrested for possessing comic books with lewd depictions of fictional minors. This is where the judge ruled that “two parts of the PROTECT Act criminalizing “a visual depiction of any kind, including a drawing, cartoon, sculpture, or painting” were unconstitutional. Christopher Handley was charged with obscenity instead and took a plea bargain at his lawyer’s suggestion.. He got only six months in jail.
Also, coincidentally, the head of one the the groups helping Christopher Handley to try to beat his charges?
“[Comic Book Legal Defense Fund] leader Neil Gaiman remarked on how this could apply to his work The Doll’s House, saying, “if you bought that comic, you could be arrested for it? That’s just deeply wrong. Nobody was hurt. The only thing that was hurt were ideas.” He then initiated a perfume sales campaign to raise funds for Handley’s legal defense.”
Guess you guys have a new problematic fave, huh.
2010 Idaho case-
He also had child pornography with actual children in it on his computer. Lock his slimy ass up for good.
2011 Maine case-
He also had child pornography with actual children in it. What’s interesting about this one is that the charges brought against him with regards to the fictional stuff were dropped at both a state and federal level as a result to the Handley ruling. Put his slimy ass in jail for good for the other stuff.
2012 Missouri case -
He also took a plea bargain, and was never actually convicted before a jury, and was sentenced to three years. considering fictional depiction of minors were already ruled not to be child pornography, if he had gone to trial it was possible the initial charges would have been dropped.
All in all, we have only had one case of someone being tried for actual child pornography with possession of fictional depictions of minors, and that was back in 2005. The others took plea bargains, were not being tried for child porn but rather obscenity, or both, and were never formally tried in front of a judge and jury. Or, they had possession of actual child pornography and deserved to rot in jail. Do your gotdamn homework before coming into my inbox.
