Day 21 of #SizeDoesntMatter is #DowndogSplit (#EkaPadaAdhoMukhaSvanasana).
I always want to go deeper in this pose, but my hands always slide down my mat when I raise my extended leg. I can’t tell you how many times I have face planted in pursuit of downdog splits, y’all. It would probably be embarrassing if I had even a shred of shame. Anyway, today I thought to turn my mat over- my @lululemon #yoga mat is reversible and the black side is excellent for hot yoga because the base layer uses the sweat your body produces to help stick you to the mat (It’s called “The Mat” for those of you who are wondering). Anyway, I rarely think to flip my mat when I’m not practicing #hotyoga which is SO STUPID because I still get sweaty enough during my home practice to validate use of the second side.Using the second side, I was able to really dig in my hands to reach some of my deepest downdog splits ever. I am still reeling from the benefits of that stretch, y’all. So grateful. I am so thankful for this feeling. Namaste.
