down-syndrome-buddy-walk

Yep! It’s time for the Buddy Walk!  Let’s show the Ackles family some love and help out those with Down Syndrome too!  Every year the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas puts on a Buddy Walk to promote acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Downs.  Levi is Jensen and Danneel’s nephew so we know this cause is near and dear to them.

To join in just go to their website here and scroll down the list to Team Levi.  For some reason I can’t seem to link directly to the team page.  You can join Team Levi and walk with them if you happen to be in Dallas or you can donate to the team.  If you would please reblog this to get the word out, that would be just terrific!  Thank you.

Buddy Walk 2014

One of the Georgia team’s favorite annual events is the National Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk!

Held at Centennial Olympic Park in Downtown Atlanta, it’s a celebration of Downs children and their families. Once again, a large team of Georgia superheroes came out to join the teams for the walk and festivities! Superman, Supergirl, Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Wonder Girl (Donna and Cassie), Green Lantern, Raven, Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, and Spider-Girl hung out for many hours on a beautiful day with the smiling children.

For more information on this great national event, go to http://www.ndss.org/Buddy-Walk/.

Special thanks to Grace Moss of Bodhi Tree Photography and Eric Ward of Your Mojo By Jojo and out-of-costume support by Dwight Dunbar.

I’ll combine my Jensen posts and ask you to go over to the Team Levi fund-raiser, because they deserve our support. You love Jensen?? Then please check it out! The Ackles’ do the fund-raiser and the Dallas Buddy Walk every year to help the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas.

So please go to the page, reblog and if you can, donate to help reach the team goal, which is 25.000. We have 61 days left to do this.

Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas, 2016 Buddy Walk, Team Levi!

I’ve seen other posts about this, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to make my own as well.  The Buddy Walk is an annual event to raise awareness and acceptance for people with Down syndrome.  The Guild “provides accurate and current information, resources and support for people with Down syndrome, their families and the community.”

This is an event that Jensen and Danneel support every year.  I was delighted to see that Team Levi is the top team so far!

There are 51 days left to raise just under $40,000, which sounds like a lot, but only $800 per day is needed to easily reach this goal.

To learn more about the 2016 Buddy Walk, this is the link to the Event Page.

To donate, go to the Team Levi page.

If donating right now is out of the question, reblogs and signal boosts are always appreciated!

Buddy Walk 2015

One of the favorite annual events for the Georgia branch is the Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk! It’s a day-long festival at Centennial Olympic Park in Downtown Atlanta – games, food, live performances, and, of course…SUPERHEROES!

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Wonder Girl, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Hawkgirl, Catwoman, Captain America, Storm, Mockingbird, Scarlet Spider, and Thor came out to hang with the kids and complete the final walk around the park. It was a day for smiles, selfies, and many superhero hands held!

Thanks to Eric Ward of Your Mojo By Jojo photography for the support.
