If you’re traveling to East Tennessee we recommend making your way to Norris Lake and/or Norris Dam.  Norris Lake and Norris Dam are operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority(TVA).  Here is some information about TVA from their website:

TVA was set up by the U.S. Congress in 1933, primarily to reduce flood damage, improve navigation on the Tennessee River, provide electric power, and promote “agricultural and industrial development” in the region.

Last week we decided to travel to Norris Dam (opened in 1936) and take in a somewhat rare occurrence.  In Late April TVA began spilling water over the dam and continued spilling into early May.  The dam releases approximately 15,000 gallons of water per second over the top of the dam, or around 900,000 gallons per minute.

Did you know we currently have over 300 bracelet options available on our website? With new launches in the coming weeks we will be doubling this number. Like us on Facebook (or follow us here) and share/reblog this post to be entered into our contest to be the first to receive one of our new designs. Two winners will be chosen, one for each design. Contest ends May 22nd, 2013.
